Central Maine Outdoorsman
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 24 พ.ย. 2021
We are building our cabin from scratch!! We will be harvesting and sawing all the lumber ourselves that we will use to build our cabin! We sold our home in the suburbs to live our dream in rural Maine. I am the type of guy who lives off the land, so if I can make it myself or reuse it, I'll do it.
This process started last year, but we recently decided to start a TH-cam channel.
Videos will be candid and live time as I make my way through sawing, cutting and building our home. Things are bound to get interesting with three hounds and a Mrs. in the mix ;) stay tuned!
I will also upload fishing, hunting and recreational videos as I go... outdoorsman indeed!

Deer Harvest With Crossbow ... Hunting Whitetail Deer In Rhode Island/Deer Management/So Many Deer!!
In this video Sam and I are hunting the urban woods of RI, much different from Maine. Deer come from every direction, not just the woods. In less than 3 hours we had over 4 deer in range. We successfully harvested 3 deer, which will keep our freezers full throughout the off-season. Great hunt! And was a fun trip to experience hunting in another state. Maine is possibly the hardest state to hunt whitetail in my opinion..... Do you agree? From Tree To Lumber: Making Boards For Our Cabin Build From Scratch

We purposely did not cut down this good sized pine tree so we could enjoy it for many years.... Well Mother Nature had a different plan! After loosing its needles and hearing the Beetles Larvae boring holes in this nice tree we decided it was time to take it down and make use of the boards we make in this video. Felling this tree in the right location was nerve wracking to say the least. Enjoy!...

That's why I don't like living in a democratic state.
Leave the little ones alone. Damn rookies. Go back to maine
How do you like the ground blind you’re hunting out of?.
It’s great! It’s a Tidewe, can get them on Amazon for decent price on sale.
@ thanks, I’ve seen them over the last couple of years on hunting videos like yours. I’m a ground hunter but some rainy days it would be nice not to get soaked! Live in downtown Boston but hunt Shapleigh, Maine area. Shot my deer of a lifetime this past season. 184lbs, 8 point! Beautiful animal! Oh, I’m 67 and grew up in Lincoln,Maine
Congratulations on that beautiful buck!!! I mostly hunt in tree stands but last year I shot my first deer on the ground. It was a great experience. Thanks for watching!!
Glad it worked out for you people that never grew up with a hunting tradition don’t understand what it’s all about. You guys did the right thing and to bad you had they ruined the hunt with your buddy
Thanks! Ya it kinda took the wind out of our sails. We wont let it stop us tho
Crossbow goons
Awesome Congratulations WHAT Part of the State are you in 🎉
Thanks! Mount Hope Bay Area
Nice, once again a great video.
Thanks man!
Way to go Andy
Thanks Capt! Lots of deer! Very different from hunting in Maine.
I had a work colleague who asked me if I'd hunt if the deer were out in the woods with guns shooting at me. I asked her if she'd shop for beef if cows were running around the meat department of the grocery store with guns shooting at shoppers. She stopped asking. 🤣🤣
Nice boards !
Did somebody steel your chocker chains?
Thanks for the advice! Will be using the chains for on now. Thanks for watching
I've really been enjoying your channel since I subscribed. I have a camp in Sangerville maine I plan on milling some lumber with my norwood chainsaw mill. I live in northern rhode Island and don't get up there as much as I would like but plan on spending more time this year. I have a kubota 2380 and a log arch and plenty of ash that needs to go so that is a start . Thanks for the great content. Jim V
Thanks man! It’s always a good day in the woods! I’ve made that trip for a few years. I’m up full time now. Never know…..you might run into me in town one day!
Great video nice little saw log 🪵 Andy 😊.
Thanks you!
I spent the weekend just clearing my trails in the woodlot. So many downed trees from all the wind. Mostly firs so who cares but what a pain in the arse. Happy new year man! 🍺

Hi Brother nice jobe to me like it and tractor KIOTI verry cool made in KOREA.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Thanks 👍 nice machine, it’s been good to me! Knock on 🪵 🤞
Next time to try and line up your cuts better score the cut corner on both sides of the notch so uk where to start your back cut
Good stuff! Thanks for the info, will try it out next time!
I'm no expert, Andy, but I find on the big trees that a little bark-deep scribe with the saw just before I do my back cut helps keep things lined up better.
@@ScottfromNB appreciate it buddy! Will have to try it out!
2 for 1 special 😂. I’ve been there so many times. Go careful. 👍
Haha! It’s like a Daily Double from Jeopardy
That's super cool!
It came out great! I was going to get super fancy with routing etc. but I’m happy with simplicity So I can spend time on other projects. The list is growing 😂
The bed came out super cool. Great Job 🏆🏅
Hey Andy. Hope you had great holidays. I just started doing the Humboldt cut when cutting trees for lumber. I think it's easier to do and you don't have to cut the notch off the log for a flat cut. The notch is on the stump and there is less waste. I also have a hard time getting my back cut strait and level because I'm so tall and I don't get low enough when I'm cutting. Lol. I'm working on it tho.
Same to you, man! I’m gonna have to check that out. Every time I watch myself cut the butt end off I say “what a waste”lol, honestly I’ll probably dry it and try to make some kind of table. Yeah I don’t know what my excuse is….I’m not that tall so I need to figure out something 😂 I’m sure we might get some feed back from someone watching that will have good advice. I seen people start their cut off the notch, might be the way 🤷♂️
@CentralMaineOutdoorsman yeah everyone is an expert. The way I see it, if the tree falls and didn't crush me or the tractor that's a win. Lol. I really need to get back out in the woods and log some wood while the ground is frozen but the temp and wind keeps me inside. Lol. I'd like to get a good stock pile before spring for sure tho.
@@MrBrewnerI hear ya! Get out there lol
watching from Prince Edward Island ,, Canada .. love watching the Kioti skidding big timber .. i got a 42 hp Kioti with cab and loader witch i use for blowing snow and loader work around my oyster farm .. i would love to have one of the skidders for the back of mine ..love the tire chains on the back of your tractor ,, i bet they are a huge help
I use all 35hp of this kioti 😂. That’s awesome! What do you use for a blower? I’m def in the market for one, most likely will be for next season tho. Oyster farm sounds interesting… love the ocean!
@@CentralMaineOutdoorsman i use a 72 inch meteor snow blower .. they are a popular blower up in my parts .. i need to get back into making my youtube videos ,, i have about 100 videos on my channel

THIS VIDEO IS A DISPLAY OF A KILL SHOT WITH NO BLOOD!!!! Tracking is KEY!! Make sure you stick with your gut instinct and follow through! 🦌
Camera work makes it hard to watch. Congrats on the deer.
@@n2trkys18 Thanks! Sorry about that. I think I watched the Blair Witch Project 1 to many times 😂 Our primary focus was the hunt and the footage was just a bonus. We had to work with what we had. In future videos we hope to have proper equipment to show the whole experience in better detail with less erratic movement. Thanks for watching.
@ I totally understand. I recently bought an action camera and trying to get it figured out on the filming side. This was a lesson for me as well. Now I know that I’ll have to move my camera pretty slow when panning the ground for blood trail shots.
