3D PRINTING GAMEBOY ADVANCE BATTERY COVER
3D Printing Gameboy advance battery cover
how to 3d print a battery cover for my gameboy advance
In this video you will I show you how I 3D printed a battery cover for my Gameboy advance using my Prusa 3D printer.
I played the Gameboy advance a lot back in the day. When I found it in a box in the loft whilst looking for something else with the battery cover missing. I knew I needed to use the 3D printer to make one.

    Hi I've had a problem with doing something like this. I created a car chassis design (well half of it, I'm going to mirror it once it's completely done) which I have made into one surface but the thicken ability won't work. I used check to see why, and it says that there's an open surface which I can't see no matter how much I zoom in. What should I do? is there another way to "thicken" my chassis? I believe another way is to make a offset of the original and use something (still don't know what) to connect the two and then knit them together with the make solid option to I believe basically do the same thing. Am I on the right trail? Thanks!

    • @DesignMountain
      @DesignMountain 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi you need to patch the surface to make a closed volume. Try the surface knit - if its a small gap it can autopatch

    How would you then take this for example and make a negative of it for a two part mold? I have a fingerboard model I made and can't figure out how to take the profile of it and essentially attach it to a rectangle

      Use the combine subtract tool. It’s a multi body part modelling technique but you would Subtract the fingerboard model away from a another block of material

    I see some people creating a trough around the bottom of the boss to encourage uniform wall thickness where the boss originates from...is that really needed? it's mentioned in quite a few guidelines but I never see anyone on TH-cam do it that way.

    • @DesignMountain
      @DesignMountain 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi by a trough do you mean a relief cut? I haven't seen this and would imagine putting a cut at the bottom of a boss would encourage stresses and weaken it.

    • @eatinMcdonaldsfryz
      @eatinMcdonaldsfryz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I design housings/clamshells for a living and uniform wall thickness is 100% needed. Nobody on TH-cam making these videos does a thickness analysis because they don't actually know about design for manufacturability, they just know how to make things in CAD.
