    Clive comes across to be a really nice guy something had clearly gone wrong in his life in the past and there does not seem to be a safety net to stop people becoming homeless. In order for people not to take Street drugs the doctors must give out the medication that people ask for

    • @Dublinireland5
      @Dublinireland5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When clive felt really down and had to turn to Street drugs if he had been given maybe two diazepam a day and a sleeping tablet at night and maybe a couple of tramadol pain killers he would not have turned to Street drugs,,,, doctors will often turn people down for this type of medication but then end up putting them on methadone a year or two later

    Ireland needs to ask for a rebate from the European Union because they've sent a lot of people to claim asylum in ireland and there's clearly no way near enough accommodation for everybody I believe 70 Irish people died on the streets of Ireland last year the European Union needs to be made aware of this clearly ireland first ireland first

    Your probably one of the oldest charities for people in addiction and homelessness in Dublin. I remember when it started and where they had a building on Ellis Quay for the unfortunate people of the city. Them day's there was absolutely nothing in the country say for coolmine for herion addiction. Simon is top of the pop's. Total respect for it's service. A Dub ✌🏻☘️

    This time of year there maybe more hotels and bed and breakfast rooms empty there are homeless people in Dublin is it a shame that someone could get together and see if they can set up some type of scheme for the empty beds in the hotel rooms and bed and breakfasts and maybe sponsor a homeless person in Dublin and give people accommodation for the night and to see if it would work or not I think it's a good idea

  • @Dublinireland5

    No one should be homeless in Dublin or anywhere in Ireland but unfortunately it seems to be that the north of Ireland is keen to send the Taxes money to my country in England which is causing problems for Ireland Ireland is buying country and not 2 countries it is Ireland and nothing else

    I was homeless in Dublin, in 1999. A French expat, trying to find work. My dream was to work for U2. You can laugh, but I got robbed one night and lost everything because my then roommates didn't trust me and wanted me out. So from a French U2 fan dreaming of meeting Bono, I got to dream of eating instead. From eating house to eating house, this was my life for almost three months. I had a roof, but no money, no heat, no breakfast and no dinner. I wrote my story, tried to promote it, even contacted Simon Community. I wanted to tell what it's like to dream the impossible for then to lose everything. I got to turn my life around by eventually finding a home, then work. It took me 20 years to realise that I still had the same dream. Today, more than ever, I want this dream to come true. My passion for a rock band kept me going. U2 gave me hope, love, warmth, courage. Music is therapy. I will never forget my homeless life. I hope Tesco can forgive me for stealing a Mars bar because I was hungry.

    This is so touching. It is so unfair and wrong that people might become/be homeless. Thank you for this 🙏❤️
