Can anyone explain why after six years of my replacement it gets stuck when I get in my car to leave work. I have to physically straighten it myself and the pain is excruciating.. it’s been doing it daily now

Sleeping on my stomach is impossible😂. I tried the side sleep and I turned my knee awkwardly . World of pain ensued.

I just had a complete right knee replaced on 12/23/2024. My left knee was done 2 yrs ago. Is doing better since scar tissue was removed . My right knee is so very painful. Is so swollen feels like the skin is going to split open, an is so hot there is so much bruising due to the fact I am a borderline bleeder. It is very difficult to see if it is red next to the area because everything is so purple and blue. I don’t wanna bug my surgeon, but I also don’t wanna take a chance on having a blood clot in my leg because it is so hot from my tourniquet point all the way down to my toes where I had my double bunionectomy nine weeks ago

I have 2 different implants, knees done a decade apart.

I have tightness in my right knee after a year, got my left one done no tightness...but did get hypersensitivity to the bone cement... waiting to hear from my surgeon after the holidays to see where we go from here. (Had metal and allergy tests that identified it)

Hello doc ! Post bilateral TKR, my mom has blood leaking in her left knee so doc suggested to stop the blood thinner. Is it normal or any suggestions please

I’m 4 months post op a partial knee replacement. I had the other knee done 2 years ago and by 3 months everything was good. But with THIS knee I keep getting swelling above my knee and next month we planned a cruise. My doc said by 5 months you will be good to go but it’s not. We planned a short hike and plan to go tubing down a river but looks like those are just a dream. Not sure what to do I have 4 more weeks. I put a compression stocking over my knee and it helps but when I take it off it swells again! Back to the crutch? Is that a good idea to take some weight off it for a while?

Some of these comments are encouraging and others not so much but since we're all different so are the Doctors which can make alot of difference in your recovery, you can't use one person's experience and expect yours to be the same way as there are too many variables that go into any surgery , I had a spinal fusion which most doctors say are more painful than any surgery and walked the next day with help from nurses but a woman next to me with the same surgery had been in bed for a week and not walked so I would say that a TKR would be comparable

I got shot in my femur, and I have a metal rod inside my leg and I can’t Bend my knee after surgery been about a year and a half its healed and everything I just cannot be in my bend my knee fully can you please help

I am up in Canada, 11 weeks since my TKR and still have such major pain & swelling. Here physio doesn’t begin for 6 wks. which I think is a huge setback. I am going to start your videos, and hopefully this will help as I am so tired of being in such terrible pain. I have only been getting 1-2 hours sleep per night since the surgery due to pain & I am exhausted.

It's taken a week and a half just trying to get my leg onto the bed . Until some more pain goes , exercise will have to wait.

There is no such thing as a perfect knee...if it was perfect, it would not degrade and wear out... Read chapter three of Genesis to see the body is cursed to destruction due to sin...while if the Lord would have cursed the spirit, no one could be redeemed by the blood of Christ Jesus...

I just want to enquire about how much knee bending is ideal for executing regualr activity just like boarding train , bus and aeroplane?? And what kind of procedure should one have to follow if one's knee bending is fixed almost 90⁰ .. is there any way to extend and increase the flexion upto 120 degree ?? Patient have had robotic tkr 3.5 months ago.. and following regular exercise ..

One of my concerns is walking - and I can't tell if you're saying it's OK to walk or not. My PT person said do some, but don't go nuts...maybe half/mile at a time. You said the patients who DID walk seemed to suffer more from 'pain and stiffness' - which is something I'd like to avoid. TKR 10/23/24 (ROM stuck at 90) and MUA 12/5/24 (ROM stuck at 103). I was active before the op - walking 2-3 miles/day and/or golfing couple times/week - all of which has stopped cold...my cardio is terrible. I'd like to walk but don't want more pain and stiffness if I do.

I really have no caregivers consistently but I think FOR ME it helped that way

I am 8 weeks post surgery and was dismayed as the stiffness was getting worst and also the pain was increasing especially at night( still no sleep) but on reflection after seeing your video I think it has hit home that I have been trying to do too much too soon and that is causing my issues. Thank you for your video.

Im 6 days in and have a lot of swelling im trying to bend it the best i can but dont see a physio for another week and im worried they'll expect me to be more improved .ive heard you only really have 6 weeks to get the results and after that youve left it too late to ever get full range so im panicking

Don't be afraid. We returned to our ballroom dancing class five weeks after tkr. I was in hospital for two days and was sent home with packets of strong painkillers but I didn't take any as the pain was easily bearable without. It's now just over seven weeks and tonight we will dance for three hours at our Christmas Ball. Just do what the physio says and you will be fine.

Thanks so much for the information .Had knee replacement surgery sept 25 I did notice after long day my knee can ache. I work at a gym so I get to ride bike starting off slow and I walk the track I am 68 years old my knee feels like I am 30 again

Wow, I just had my worse game of golf ever! Here's to better days ahead. I never thought the right knee total replacement would be so detrimental to a right handed golfer!

I have not found it in Mauritius, so I had to improvised. I have done both knees surgery, the 2nd one is just months, I am still aching, should I continue with the ice? Please Dr Samantha tell me.

Yikes! A YEAR for a full recovery? I'm at month 2 tomorrow (12/17) and still can't sleep thru the night. The ONLY thing that helps is the pain meds (oxycodone) which I need for pain - particularly after PT and exercises. Two screws needed to be dug out of the bone which I assume has made my recovery a little worse than most? I don't know...the Dr said the holes left behind from the screws were 'huge'...could stick his finger in the hole. Apparently I went AFIB during the screw removal... Lack of sleep may be the worst aspect of this - I get maybe an hour WITH the help of an oxy which I won't take until I'm desperate which is generally around 3AM after a couple nights of NO sleep. Even then I'll only sleep until 5 or 6. I do find myself at times falling asleep for 15 or 20 minutes during the day, exhausted sitting in a chair or on the couch. I suspect they won't give me any more oxy once I'm out... Tylenol does nothing. Unisom was terrible - made me jittery. Melatonin - nothing. Tylenol PM - nothing. Cannabis - nothing. I'll see if my pcp will prescribe something but I doubt it because I'm still in afib and on 2-3 meds for afib until I can get my heart zapped into normal rhythm - WHICH the won't do until the pain is essentially gone because acute pain would put me back into AFIB. I used to sleep like a baby - one minute and I was out. No more... I'll check out her sleep video...
