Camping in Alaska with Denali View
มุมมอง 2112 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is about my camping experience in Alaska last autumn. Quite wintry conditions here in the middle of October. I spent a night in my tent in K'esugi Ken Campground with a magnificent mount Denali (McKinley) view. The campground wasn’t closed, wasn’t reservable that time of year, it was operating on first-come first-serve basis. The price is about $20 for a tent site. I think I was the ...

Is snowing in 2nd and 3rd week of December?
@@jjjucgs1564 I don't know, but I guess you can expect some snow
@ thanks for the info. After seeing your video I loved to visit this place. Keep posting video and stay healthy.
@@jjjucgs1564 Thank you! Wish you a nice visit!
Max, very inspiring journey. As always.
Thanks a lot Nastya!
Max! What's up buddy. Another beautiful trek. A very barron beauty. No trees at all along this hike except for the end. Didn't think the elevation was that high
@@snowrob0 Hi Rob! Good to hear from you! Thanks for the comment. Yeah, no trees and actually the elevations were in the range 1000-1700m, something like that. Just it's in the North so it's more like a tundra even at low elevation
@maxzabarovsky1890 good to see you my friend! have you ever treked through the Tiaga/ Yakutia region? I know it is absolutely brutal cold up there but that would be such a cool video. You could use a sled and bring a teepee style tent and small wood stove.. I would love to visit that region. The people there are so inspiring and tough!
@@snowrob0 Hey Rob. I haven't been to Yakutia although there's a video about Mt. Belukha on this channel. Some part of that route goes though taiga, it's in Siberia. The thing is I live in Portugal now, thus not traveling much in Russia
@maxzabarovsky1890 it's been a while since I watched that video, I'll check it out though. I would imagine it's a bit politically intense trying to be a youtuber in Russia last couple years. I wish as an American I could spend some time in Russia but probably not a good idea for a random American to aimlessly wonder Russia these days.
Moreover you'll probably need to get a visa which might be not easy to get approved
this....this is sick
Great video! What tent did you use?

A great movie. Simple storyline but full of emotion touch your heart. Especially when night fall...beautiful night photography. I am coming this mid Oct, like you I'm looking for autumn foliage. But I can't do TBM, no Refugio available...it would be too tough to camp alone. So I can only break into a few day hike. Thank You for your honest advice. Solo hiking is never easy but most rewarding.
Thanks for the comment. Good consideration, in mid October it might get colder as well, so you made the right call with a few day hike
@@maxzabarovsky1890 Thank You for reply! My dream is to witness the sunrise and million stars at Lac Blanc lake, is that ok I put on a night at the then closed Refugio porch (late Oct), so that I do not need to hike at 3am to rush for sunrise, heard I need 3 hours to hike up there.
@@hucksmountainnotes7330Hi. I don't know if you can use some parts of the cabin, just what I know for sure is that it's prohibited to camp at Lac Blanc, I camped below it at Lac Cheserys
@@maxzabarovsky1890 Thanks again! You are kind! Hope to see more inspiring ‘movie’ soon. Try one day at Nepal. A different kind of mountain experience. Cost expected 50% less. Wonderful folks your would meet. I’m honest to say a bit tough, but we will always conquer all through our love of nature. 🙏
In my opinion the best and most realistic video on the Tour du Mont Blanc - no overpowering music / just great content and photography that has really helped me plan my trip in 2025!
Thank you! Glad to hear the video helped you with your planning
One of the best videos I have seen about TMB! Thank you Max for your quiet and calm way of talking and also limiting music to the great time laps views of the stars at night! Great hike, great video, great impressions of the nature and mountains! Thank you Max!
@@lutzl thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed the video
wow so beautiful! Thank you. We met at Pico Ruivo as you captured the sunset. I asked about your youtube channel and here I'm. :)

Inspiring video. Especially the views above the clouds
@@anastasiakiryakova6352 Thank you for the comment, Nastya!
Hello! I'll be hiking this in a few weeks (middle of September to early October). How cold does it get on the trail? I'm not sure what kind of cold weather gear to bring
Hi, the weather conditions are different that time year by year. In my case that was rather hot, no snow on mountain passes, mostly sunny. I was quite lucky for sure. But I've seen videos on youtube depicting the same period of year that were different. I don't remember the night temps were falling below 0C. In fact I think it was rather in 5-10C range at nights. Anyways you need a few layers, including some thermal underwear. Sturdy trekking shoes are quite necessary. Maybe take a down jacket for possibly cold evenings
And yes I did it late September - first decade of October
Congratulations on the SEND! 💪 I’ll be heading to Turkey in a few months and definitely want to check this route out.
Thank you! Absolutely, this route is a local classic.
Max what's up? Those pics were great. The clouds inversion was really cool did it go away? Milky way or not a shot of the sky with that cloud inversion as well would have been interesting.
Hey Rob. Thank you very much for the comment! That cloud version happens constantly throughout the whole Madeira island adding a lot to the scenery. That evening it didn't go away but it differs, sometimes the clouds are lower, sometimes the forest itself is in the clouds thus becoming way more mysterious
Thank you Max for posting this lovely video! You had such wonderful weather, lucky you! I hiked the TMB in late June 2022, it is amazing to watch the video and witness how different it all looks in October, so thanks again for a fantastic video, take care
Thank you so much for the comment! Yeah, it was different but with incredibly stable weather
spectacular footage! thank you
Thanks for posting this! How is the quality of the climbs at Geyikbayiri for 6b and below?
Hi. I can't complain
Thank you for sharing! What a pity for the chemtrails in the sky.

Muito bom seus registros. Parabéns! Você, fez uma observação sobre sapatos mais leves. Essa é uma duvida que tenho. A trilha suportaria um tenis apropriado para montanhas?
Thank you! The boots I had back there were for alpinism (mountaineering), not for hiking. A usual pair of trekking shoes most likely will cover you.

@@maxzabarovsky1890Thanks a lot for your answer!!! Of you could help me with 2 more answers, I would appreciate. Whats the name of the hotel your started your hike? How many kilometers was the hike? Thanks a lot!!!
Hi, The hotel is Hotel Dolomitenhof. Not sure what's the distance. Though you can carefully check this for some info - www.outdooractive.com/en/route/snowshoe-walking/hochpustertal/with-snowshoes-to-the-tre-cime-di-lavaredo/6005336/
@@maxzabarovsky1890 Thanks a lot! Im travelling to the Dolomites in late February with my girlfriend, we are from Brazil, never hiked in the snow. Do you recommend this hike for us? Thanks a lot.
@@Hkgkhk-gt7uh frankly I don't know, this hike is not considered as a hard one but definitely there are shorter/easier hiking options like hiking to Locatelli Hut from Misurina via the car road (but cars are not allowed in winter there). Maybe you can look for something like that for your first snow hike
Loved your time lapse shots especially the one at Bonatti. Felt your pain too with the wrong boots and heavy pack. Congrats on finishing, we hopefully will be there next year.
Thank you for your comment! I actually got used quite a bit to those boots along the way :) Wish you all the best with your Tour du Mont Blanc
Если это ваше первое лидирование, то норм, но я бы посоветовал вам поработать над установкой инструментов и постановкой ног. Мне было немного напряжённо наблюдать за пролазом.
Да, первое. Спасибо. Согласен, тут надо работать над техникой.
I would recommend getting a spinner leash for leashless climbing, especially foŕ leading. If you drop a tool you could be in a world of trouble.
How can 7.25$ / night be expensive? Lol 😆 🤣 😂
Hej Max, Really great footage of the hike and night sky. Was interesting to see the route so calm and uninterrupted. I hiked it back in summer 2021. During that time it was quite a lot of people, very busy on the paths and in camp grounds. Great to see TMB in autumn time and hear about the conditions on the way, since I am planning on walking it again next year. Choice to make when. Enjoyed your commentary of the route, keep it up :)
Thanks a lot for your comment. Actually the conditions were super favourable. It might have snowed as well on the mountain passes in the first decade of October (just that's what I saw in the other videos)
Hey Max! I thought you quit TH-cam but I see you were just doing bigger adventures! Time-lapses looked great I bet you were feeling beat up and tired of camp food by the end of that one! Glad you're back! I've always wanted to see the alps!
Hey Rob. Thanks. Yeah, I'd been eating camping meals for 12 days, certainly wanted to go for something else. Although I loved Real Turmat meals, gonna try to stick with them in the future
Solid effort. leading is definitely not something to be taken lightly. ice screws are like air bags.... you really don't want to have to use them...
