Best Value 3D Printer?: The Bambu Lab A1+ AMS Lite
มุมมอง 6K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
Looking for the best value 3D printer on the market? The Bambu Lab A1 might be the best option there is for beginners and professionals alike. With its fast printing, wide range of features, multicolor capability using the AMS Lite, plus Bambu Lab's convenient app and slicer software, this 3D printer seems like a great option. The A1 prints PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA filament beautifully and consis...
For those who have the newer A1 with the mesh cable, the Heatbed Cable Protector is not needed, only the older style cable on the A1 in the video.
thanks for this. made it easy
Thanks for watching!
Would you also add the external spool holder to this assembly as well? Space looks a bit tight filament bins to add the spool holder.
I really only ever use the AMS since I mostly print using PLA but I've added a y-splitter to the bowden tubes so that I have the option of using the external spool without having to disconnect anything - I'll feature this in my next upload. It does take up a bit more space but not too much.
@@Creatorrific I've fitted the spool holder using the mod from your previous video. If I don't use it as least it won't go missing!
Great video! Simple, short, to the point, and sexy.....
Glad you found this video useful. Thanks for watching!
you said you need to sign into your autodesk account, what do you do if you don't have one. I don't use any other autodesk products. I use V carve pro but that does not do 3D.
I did print this enclosure and, in the end, removed it because my printer sits in a really tight space (my printer and AMS light is installed in a 2'x3' enclosure) and removing and replacing filament with this enclosure on is a bit of a pain in the hass. I can see it being much better if you have more available footprint in your printer space.
Thanks for watching. That's a shame that this didn't work out for you.
@@Creatorrific yeah. I still have all the parts. If I change my setup, I could reinstate it. I liked it... it just didn't work for me in my environment. GREAT Design though!
great video. your the first ive seen show the build plate stand.
Thank you for watching!
Is this the same top mount you use in your video for the AMS Lite enclosure? When looking at Maker World I saw several different top mount models so I wanted to get the correct one. Thanks. Great videos.
Thanks for watching! Yes it is. I've linked the file in the video description as well.
Did you print these with pla or petg?
I used Sunlu's PLA Meta filament. I'd go with PETG for durability though.
All the screws were included in my accessory box that was included with the A1 Combo
Yeah, mine too. I ordered a set when buying my combo, not knowing it was coming with a set anyway.
Bambu have changed the design/materials for the power cord on all units currently shipped so its no longer a problem, however not a bad idea to print one of these up and use it anyway.
For a noob, your instructions are by far the easiest to follow compared to other channels. Thanks!
Thank you for watching!
Please print the CAPS for the AMS lite spools on the front side, so that they don't slide off. (Its not part of the original AMS lite project)
Do you worry about the weight at all when loaded with filament spools? I'm new to the hobby and terrified of breaking my A1 since it's so expensive and seems delicate.
No its 4kg when full, it has compensated support legs, it doesn't wobble, maybe a bit, but it doesn't affect the print. What should be done is printing those caps for the AMS to prevent spools from sliding out on the front side.
Caps are not part of the AMS lite project. (Its custom on BambuMaker)
Neat creations man!
Thanks for watching!
Giveaways! *cough cough*
If you are a new owner or not extremely familar; bambu software and firmware is often riddled with bugs. Dont immediately update. Wait a little first while they work out the bugs. Also; use orca. It has all the same features, with additional control that bambu studio doesnt.
Orca is just copy-pasting.
@seanzhouz3478 definitely a bit of that. But with its additional features, improvements, and open source nature it is vastly superior. You dont have to wait weeks for a bug fix or months for a new feature
Once they add the long retract on cut to save filament during multi color printing I’ll be in The “retract during cut” seems to do large retractions during the movements associated with the cut macro’s but doesn’t move the filament in a way that saves any
@@seanzhouz3478and so is bambu studio, orca has features the studio does not, and usually recieved the features first. Orca only follows on bambu specific features like for the ams.
And we already have 1.10.01.50 available!
The books are fantastic, like you said I didn’t like the series as much. Didn’t feel like Tolkien at all. Love your channel btw. New subscriber here!
Thanks for your support!
Putting the AMS Lite on top of the A1 was tested by Bambu Lab. Wondering if the additional weight of the enclosure wouldn't be, in overall, simply too much weight for the A1 top bar to handle. Any thoughts ?
The frame is very sturdy, so top mounting isn't an issue. Print quality isn't affected either.
@Creatorrific thanks for the reply
it still doesnt have add alternate wall to prints which orca has had forever and improves strength. i dont know. whenever i slice via bambu my prints are about an hour longer than slicing through orca (exact same settings) and my prints look better thru orca so no thank bambu but not enough
Keep doing your thing Mr. Creatorrific!

Did Bambu Lab quit providing boosts?
No they’re automatically converted to points now
@ thank you. Can you explain a bit more how this works? When someone uploads a model that is successful, how do they receive points? Wasn’t the previous system better for creators?
@@WeJe-o4u You still receive points for prints and downloads as before, but you can also directly receive boosts from anybody. You no longer need to convert your boosts to points to redeem them, each boost just gives you 15 points now.
why not make it full with dessicant?
You're right. I might as well have made it full for max humidity absorption, but I tend to have OCD when following instructions 😅
I absolutely love this mod! did it with two of my ams lite
Thanks for ur informative information, Im here still learning about Bambu Lab, great job 👍
Thank you for always supporting!
I wish they make the app for phone same as for pc is so good to print something from anywhere
HI. Thank you for this video. I'm a recent Bambu lab printer owner, as well as Bambu lab studio user...I've been printing for a few years using Cura with a CR6-SE. Bambu ecosystem is a bit of a learning curve for me, but the all in one solution is great for sure. Lots of info in your video, some made sense, some have me lost...lol....I've saved this video to re watch as I find my way with this new program so I can refer back to the upgrade info. I've liked and subscribed and I am looking forward to more of your videos. If you are looking for video content ideas, one of my first challenges moving from Cura to Bambu studio is the way some things are named, like infill names. I've been slicing and reprinting some of my old models, and trying to understand some of the different names things are called (ie infill) and that has been a bit of a challenge...but I'm an old guy so that could be part of it...just sayin...haha...thanks again enjoyed how you present your videos, no tinsel, just useful information. Greg
Thanks for the support! Those are very good points and I appreciate the tip. Best of luck in the meantime time on the transition over to Bambu Studio.
I updated now my ams won't sync what do I do
It looks like there's been another update since (v1.10.1). Give that a try, check your connections, try plugging into the 2nd port, try resyncing from Bambu Studio, try using the Bambu Handy App to force a reconnect then check Bambu Studio to see if it shows, and if all fails downgrade to the previous version until a later update fixes the issue. Hope this helps.
I had the same issue. The .1 update fixed it.
To me it was all blahh blahhhhh blahhh. Im not a 3d printing nerd. I just like to print up grade parts for my printers and my car. All this upgrade stuff was a waste of time for me.
So, you, random internet stranger, commented on a video about something you're not interested in to tell all the other random internet strangers you're not interested in that topic. I'm gonna be honest here; I think the time wasting problem you have might not be the video's fault. Had you considered commenting on one of the thousands of other topics you have no interest in? Or, perhaps more usefully, not doing that and going to the cinema instead or something?
But your autism keeps you here.
Bambu lab printers Do Not require a bunch of "upgrade parts".........You're thinking about 3d printing before Bambu came to the scene.
How can you print without an inclosure? I heard pla and others absorb moisture causing issues.
Not an issue. Enclosures mainly seperate fumes from the environment for potentially toxic filament like ABS. The moisture that PLA absorbs really isn't an issue but TPU is a whole other story - you'll want to fully dry any TPU before printing or there's going to be guaranteed issues. Storing filament inside of a tote bin with plenty of dessicant packages with dry your filament fine.
I see a metallic filament on your feeder. Does it produce realistic metal finish and if so what is it? I want to make some realistic Browning M2 50 cal rounds for a film prop so I need brass cases and copper bullets. Thank you.
I think you're referring to my gold silk pla filament from CC3D. It's not really a metallic finish but it might be passable for your use case with some scenic aging. Hope this helps.
@@Creatorrific Thankyou.
Its telling me i have floating regions any idea why?
I had a similar issue. Try moving it to a different location on the build plate then reslice it. That fixed my problem. Hope this helps.
I printed the enclosure, and it was really well designed, but it didn't work for me.
Sorry to hear that. It seems some people are having success while other are having trouble. I suspect that it could be the seal of the enclosures varies person to person or perhaps environment conditions could be too extreme for this to have an affect.
Last week I also printed this enclosure. But with silica beads I can’t the humidity inside lower as 56%. What things can I do to get it around the 30-35%…?
I could't drop my humidity much either, maybe 10% lower than the outside humidity/
Sorry to hear that. I wonder if it's an issue with the seal maybe, like gapping in certain spots allowing humidity to enter. I was able to achieve 17% lower than my environment (33% inside vs 57%) outside. Try inpecting the seal at all the joints. Maybe the design could use a remix version that snaps tightly together.. Wish I could offer better advice.
Hi which did you use for the covers? vertical or horizontal for mounting the AMS on the top rail of the A1 thank you
Sorry for the late reply. I used horizontal covers. Hope that helps!
Okay I'm sold lol 😅have you seen my hot end
Just got my A1. It came with the screws required for the top mount in the included accessory kit
Thank you for the vid. Love the way how you explain it and you have a great voice for it.

Thanks a lot for your support! I'm glad you found this video useful.
You do an EXCELLENT job with your Tutorials... Hope you keep up putting out content.. New Liker/Subscriber..
Thanks a lot for your support! Glad you enjoyed the video.
I just started a print while using those black spool rolls like you showed. I didn't think to print the inserts first. How likely is it that these are going to fall off during printing?
The inserts are only need if you're using certain spools like the Sunlu brand that have a larger hole, otherwise you're fine without it. If you're using spools that have a larger hole with the AMS Lite top mount though, it's certain to fall off so you should for sure use an adapter in that situation.
my a1c actually came with all the top mounting screws from the factory. not sure if thats normal but check your accessory box.
Thanks for the info. Not sure if my earlier batch didn't include them or if I just missed it.
Great video. I slowed the play speed to .75 and was better able to process it! Thanks for a great introduction to modeling.
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you found this video useful.
It’s so easy to align the a1 mini build plate compared to the a1 build plate 😂
