PORCELAIN WAR - Film Review (with Brendan Bellomo and Paula DuPré Pesmen)

Porcelain War follows three Ukrainian artists - Slava Leontyev, Anya Stasenko, and Andrey Stefanov - as they do their best to create beauty against a backdrop of violence and destruction. To these three, art is not secondary. It is their lifeblood, and they understand that when the enemy kills the artist, they kill the people. As such, they raise their paintbrushes as a tool of resistance, but ...

All of Us Strangers is brilliant. Solid picks and I wrote down a few that others have mentioned. I'm sorry about your father. Words from my mother just before she passed. _Remember the smiles_ .
Great recommendations! I'm glad you went in a different direction with your anticipated releases list.
They have to make Part 2! I left the cinema very much hungry for more. "After the Flow" there is everything to continue the story.
Honestly, it felt like the story of Noa and Jesus Christ all in one.
Very bad as Mexican and as a human being who deeply believes that kidnaping is wrong, and to revendicate yourself first you should come out as who you were in the past and apologize, not just to glorify yourself trying to find dead peoples bodies. And technically speaking my ears bled with the song lyrics, no grammar no rhymes... and some dialogs because sounded very false, not only false Mexican, but false as a woman nobody says me arde la vulva... Nothing profound or real...
the wild robot got ripped off its no.1
they're both great!
When the capybara laid down and knocked over the lemur's stuff that was 100% planned the capybara had to put in the effort to move there specifically and he seems like the animal version of "No... Remote... too far...."
During watching this i remembered my cat in back home ❤ 🐈 Love form India ❤
I just finished watching this movie on Loklok, it’s a great movie! No dialogue but it has more depth than a lot of modern films out there. The soundtrack and the overall composition were enough of a dialogue in my opinion, and the 3D art style gives off a vibe that I can’t quite put my finger into, but it’s very comforting.
I have a black cat too. This film had me in tears the entire film for both it's beauty as well as sadness it was so deeply moving. I loved Memoir and Wild Robot too -great year for genre films and animation
@@evaarena2462 can definitely relate!
I've just seen Flow and I was looking for reviews. Really like the way you talked about it. Flow also resonated with me by reinforcing how you just gotta accept change.

Question for you awesome hauler guys. When all of you are out on the road, do all the different teams that are under one ownership travel together basically? In other words, do you all stop for meals and take rest periods together? And how about the different series ; Xfinity and truck? Where do they park and unload say at Bristol and other locations, as well as the cup cars? Must be hard logistics! Any answers to these?😊
This film is An inspiration. The lives shown, but also the many people who did their part to create this piece remind us to do our part for the now and maybe for the future. People have trouble seeing the painful truths. There’s no escape here, life is hard. But beautiful. Heartbreakingly lovely. See it. See it all. ❤

I’m just a little confused so what happened to the bird ??? Also the ending why did the whale deserve that 😭
I'm trying to watch it and it's just not enjoyable ..to me.
Bro you seem like a good dude and a Cinema lover but can't think of a film that even comes close to Anora I've seen this year as the best movie and Nosferatu slightly ahead of Megalopolis as the worst!!!
@@robertgallagher5285 I can't fault you for loving Anora!
@PointsofReview in all actuality I have seen films where my opinion was so much different then the reviews I read I went to see them again (did this with Bonohoeffer which I liked a little better the second time but still thought it a mediocre Film that got RAVE YOU-TUBE reviews) but dis-liked Nosferatu so much would not want to even sit through it ONE more time!!!
@@robertgallagher5285 fortunately, there are many other great films out there, so no need to watch it again if you would prefer not to!
@@PointsofReview YES!!!
i cried so much during the movie
It really gave me a lot of questions after the bird just randomly left the entire falling action. Somehow, it gave me the interpretation that the tower grants *wish*. If you study the characters of the animals closely (even in real life) birds tend to k!ll themselves when separated from the group or their partners. (1) The crane got abandoned by its group, and (2) The bird knows that the cat knows that those dogs were bad news, yet the cat still gave empathy to the dogs, maybe the crane felt betrayed by it and lost hope? In the end, they went to the tower, (i remembered the weathering with you scene, where the girl wishes for the rain to stopped, and similar situation wherein the scene (floating, water evaporates, a glimpse of heaven). Maybe the crane gave up and wishes to go to heaven? maybe the cat also wished for the water level to go down/ wishes for some land? or maybe the white crane wished that the animals would be safe by asking for trees, lands, and etc.- AND THERE the price for asking such wish costs the life of the white crane? (again this is weathering with you reference. With oriental beliefs that "Every wish comes with a price") Although there are many interpretations that the audience could think of, we are still united by the fact that this movie touches the heart of every man. Even without dialogue, this journey of a cat is a very heartwarming and wholesome one, it's been so long since I've seen these type of movies. The movements, actions, symbolism, and its theme are spot on! Almost burst into tears when I saw the whale, I thought it survived.. and maybe.. that's where the cat realized (that also reminded me) that "one's comfort, is another's suffering."
The stork represented help from above being unexplainable and the whale creature represented the unseen sacrifice we make in life, and the inevitability of death. A sacrifice. The animals are you and me, our journey through the uncomfortable and unknown. I love you guys.
Just saw this, ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. MUST WATCH from 2024.
Watched the movie today, it's so stunning, I can't describe the movie made me feel different range of emotions with a unusual lumpy feeling in the throat
