As someone who doesn’t even create book content I’ve also been feeling overwhelmed and bogged down with all the new and upcoming releases, so you’re not alone! Also feel so seen as a fellow slow reader
another great show on Apple TV is Severance. AMAZING show and season 2 is coming soon!!
a new levy and a new clark ?? thank you for filtering them out for us 😏
I’ve just finished Gina Chick’s book and I totally get what you mean about being shocked at first by the writing layout BUUUUT good GOD you have to keep reading - I think the central themes start to become apparent slightly later in the book, her exploration of the ground-shaking power of feminine resilience really stands out as a central focus as you keep reading. I have utterly sobbed my heart out in the small hours of the morning while ferociously consuming what she has to say about living and grieving and growing and changing. What a WOMANNNN, pleaaase try to give it a second chance because I’m so sure it will change your life HAHA!!
I know this isn’t the point but you are literally one of the most beautiful humans I’ve ever seen! Thanks for all of your amazing book recommendations- instantly subscribed.
Lovely video - totally get what you mean by reader fatigue. I had to declutter my whole Ebook collection and start over - felt so overwhelmed & couldn’t even get through a Liane Moriarty (one of my all time favourite author) novel😢. Also, would love to see u do a review/commentary of this year’s goodread nominations or winners - what your opinion on the contenders & winners & who you thought was snubbed 😊
Autobiographies can definitely be rough. I love reading about people's lives but their childhoods are never as interesting as they think they were 😂
I completely agree with you in relation to woman of the hour, I was expecting something more thrilling, but as it progressed I was like oh ok maybe it’s just more of a slow burn, but it was neither?? Just not what I was expecting
Hey Cameron! Great update!
I’m at 42% and feeling the exact same way! Loving the writing, appreciate the characters but it feels like it’s dragging! Totally agreed about the low stakes.
Wild Robot is for EVERYONE… who wants to cry
Woman of the hour was 💯
Off topic but your voice is so soothing.
1000% about mad woman and it ends with us. Mad women is blood amazing!
I can’t do romance. I think I’ve dealt with too many men in real life to buy into the perfectness of romance novels lmao. I love a good realistic love story though, Normal People was one of my faves when I read it.
i thought the new me was going to give similar vibes to my year of rest & relaxation but i couldn't get past the first 5 pages😭
I must know where that shirt is from!! And so many great recs that I added to my list ☺️
Omg praying for olive ❤❤❤
Ohhh my favorite book girlie ❤ I loved perfume and pain for the same reasons, very millennial humor lol
Would you consider starting a Slaggy Book Club on Fable? That way, it could actually become a true book club-and I’d absolutely love to join!
Yessss I just recently joined fable and I’m loving it!!!
Thanks for your great recommendations.🌹🌹🌹
Where did you get that t-shirt?? I’m picking up on a trend
uniqlo
Great October Wrap Up!
Added Little Rot and The Degenerates to my list. Thanks for the great recs as always!
I love perfume and pain. It’s not my typical read but found it funny and entertaining.
I love your little microphone guy
another lovely video cameron!! i remember you saying you were struggling to find new fiction books that you wanted to read, if you’re still struggling may i recommend they’re going to love you by meg howrey!! it came out last year i believe but i haven’t seen anyone talking about it, i came across it randomly. it’s about a woman reflecting on her life growing up dreaming to become a professional ballet dancer like her parents, much of it is set when she was child visiting her staying with her dad and his husband in nyc during the AIDS crisis, i don’t want to give too much away but it really surprised me with just gut wrenching it was, i’m still thinking about it two months after finishing! also, i’m so glad your cat is going to be okay 🩷
Omg I finished that two months ago too! and wow it was the best book i read this year?? suprisigly, I still think about it too, and craving to read something similar 😣
@ i felt the exact same way like i picked it up with zero expectations and it just floored me and shot up to possibly my favourite book of all time!
Great video. Also, I would like to add that our culture at large dismisses different age groups of women in different ways. (You probably know this already, but maybe someone in the comments doesn't.) Young women are portrayed as silly, childish, dumb, shallow, etc. and now as I'm aging out of "young woman" in my early 30s I am seeing content labelling women over 30 as soccer moms and housewives - both derogatory and connecting with impressions of being boring, sad, unattractive, etc. It's certainly not a new phenomenon, but it is still disappointing to go from one group to another and find out firsthand that the same problems persist in a different mask. Sigh.
She has a few short stories only published online if you haven't already found them haha
I dont understand what is essay novel? Maybe cause’ my native language is not english
i literally was thinking about this yesterday
I could re-watch Lost so many times!
someone lmk when the intermezzo video drops
Phobia is irrational fear. So fat phobia doesn't make sense. There is a rational fear at the core of it. Fear of being unhealthy.
obsessed with the sonny angel mic !!
Loooove Maggie Nelson
Doppelganger won the Women’s Prize for Nonfiction. I really liked it. She tackles a lot, so you don't want to rush through it.
Here's my Nonfiction November: Code: "The Last Cowboys: A Pioneer Family in the New West" by John Branch (playing with the idea of the Code of the West) Path: "West Like Lightning: The Brief, Legendary Ride of the Pony Express" by Jim DeFelice (an historical route) Shot: "Shot All to Hell: Jesse James, the Northfield Raid, and the Wild West's Greatest Escape" by Mark Lee Gardner (because title) Join: "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fable" by Patrick Lencioni (just because we're reading it in a work book club) Thank you!
Watch Poor Things. Watch it. I'm a lit fic girlie and I absolutely loved this movie
Loooooved it!!
I have just found your amazing channel and I’m really excited about watching your videos and seeing what you love to read and content prayers and blessings for you and your family love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤
Just found you on my home page. I'm an author and narrator. So glad they suggested you.
Writers and lovers is amazing!! The writing flows very easily and the story is great, if you're trying to get out of a reading slump it's a great choice!!
Hi Cameron...I'm fired up on reading a new book..I would love to dance with you the Swedish Jay Jay Johanson's Mancini's Lujon cover version song Lujon.
Hello mam where are you from I am looking for foreigner friends and I would like to learn more about your country. Would you like to have friendship. Looking forward to you 😊
Ah I dnf’ed Doppelganger 😬 I couldn’t get into it
perfume and pain isn't too edgy, but that book is extremely boring. and i love books where nothing happens, but i like when nothing happens but the character is fascinating to explore, this one was just involved in boring lesbian drama and i was over it lol but i hope you love it
literally obsessed with your channel! i love all your videos and so happy when you come up on my feed. If you're in Sydney let's be friends??
lots of movies coming out later this month and november up until the end of the year! saturday night (about the first ep of saturday night live), outrun and then obviously gladiator and wiked! cant forget also timmy chalamet's new movie in december, the biopic on Bob Dylan. This time of year going forward is the prime time for movie releases post all of the film festivals and coming into next year's award season xxx
Love all your videos ! Thanks 🙏
Why this microphone? 😳🥹
