Enjoyed your videos as always! I bought a CATO-damaged Omega online (eBay), and your efforts have inspired me to invest in some BT50 body tubes & thrust rings to re-build the first stage burnt from the inside out. A great classic!

Great flight! Loved the camera views! I keep thinking of how to stop the rocket or the camera from swinging wildly during recovery. I have the same issue with the Astrocam. It even spins badly on the way up. Merry Christmas!

Nice flight, Keith! I usually fly my models either in the morning or later afternoon to avoid the sun being straight up in the sky while you’re trying to squint looking for your rocket.

I had a Scissor Wing Transport when I was young. I had more fun with that rocket than any other rocket. My Scissor Wing crashed into a chain link fence which stopped aircraft abruptly. I filled in the divots the fence made in the wings and the Scissor Wing flew many more times. Thanks for reminding me of the fun times I had.

Why do some rockets spin and some come down straight? Like your last two flights they came down straight. But the first two were spinning. I was just wondering how if possible to get them to come down straight and smooth like those did. Great flights! And great models!

I had always wanted to scratch build a Phoenix missile to use the mini engines.

Those tracks are probably a white tail deer.

We had a few good launches with our original Omega back in the late 70's and 80's but my recently built one had a similar cato to yours when the second stage didn't light. The main section did a lawn dart and destroyed the balsa cone and the payload but spared the main body and fins no problem. I grabbed a balsa cone from an unbuilt Der Red Max and cut a new payload section to be painted. What surprises me is that I used an engine lock clip in the bottom stage which we never used back in the day. I'm tempted to tear the bottom stage motor mount out and just use tape to pressure fit the motor in and have it up closer to that second stage motor.
