How To Fix The Vents Not Switching on a Chevy G20 Van | Pam the Van: Part 1
I require an update!!!!
Hopefully soon. It's too cold out right now lol
Looking sharp like she can see real good, got her windows turned limo tinted like she wearing sun glasses off from "Christine movie"
Solid video. Thanks for uploading. I've noticed other's use 5w30 but you're running 10w30. Any comment on that?
It's not that big of a difference. When these vans came out, there was no such thing as 5w30. They were designed with 10w30 in mind, so that's what I use On the flip side, no modern-day engine uses 10w30. It's a "dead product." Meaning the only reason they still make it is because people still use it... for now atleast
This is awesome content! this helped me a lot. You should show more maintenance on this vehicle. Keep up the good work😎💪🏽
Thank You!
what about changing the serpentine belt? I can't find what belt I should be using, my Belt controls the AC and everything
I'm doing mine soon, too. I have the same setup as you. Go to Rockauto.com, look up part number "6K986" and click on the "ACDELCO" one. That's what I'm going with
Watched your video as reference and changed the oil and filter on my 1995 GMC Rally STX. Same engine setup. Easy peasy. Thanks for making the video. Now I need to do a service transmission fluid change (not a flush). Then a rear axle differential gear oil replacement. All for maintence. I've owned the vehicle since day one. only have 66079 original miles on the Rally STX. Dealer did the maintenance work in the past. I have free time to do these things now. Plus I enjoy it. Well not like it's a party enjoyment lol.
I'm glad that I could help. I plan on doing my trans and diff later on in the future. I want to do some minor upgrades, nothing much. Just some stuff to help with cooling
@@BlackBird_Builds I look forward to seeing it. Take care
Hey man quick question: Is your G20 OBDI or OBDII?
Obd1. All vehicles 1995 and before are OBD1, all vehicles 1996 and after are OBD2. Therfore every chevy g20 is obd1
Hey I got an exhaust related question for these vans and you seem pretty knowledgeable. I live in California and I’m trying to get side pipes on my 95 g2500. So I’m gonna have to get two cats to run to each side. Is there a way I’m supposed to somehow wire in a new o2 sensor for the second cat or should I just cap off the second one and just run the one sensor on one side?
@CMacHipHop because of the age of these vehicals, you only have to run a sensor before the cat. That's all the PCM can read. Running a O2 after the cat would do nothing. The PCM would have bo idea what's going on
@@BlackBird_Builds yeah I hear you. But if I’m adding a second cat then I would need another o2 sensor before that cat too right? I don’t know if there’s even a way to wire that. The other option is to cap off the o2 port on the second cat
@CMacHipHop nope. No need for another 02
Great video man👍
Thank you
As a new g20 owner I value the hell out of these. Very easy to follow
Thank ya thank ya
Does it work the same way with diesel chevy starcraft g20 1990?
Maybe. The same printable applies. Short tubes will always be easier
Did you end up putting a muffler in? How does it sound? Does it feel less slow? Cheers!
Not yet, I want to under coat it first
@@BlackBird_Buildsyou should get a paradox muffler it will sound awesome...
The back ones are giving me so much trouble. Ive never done wires either, at least not properly. I did the first two on both sides and had the ignition coil changed and ever since theres a clicking from the coil arcing. Sometimes the dielectric grease keeps it good but it doesnt seem like a very permanent solution. Not sure what to do to get it proper
If it started when that coil was installed, then it's that coil. Put a new coil on there and see what happens
im getting ready to install, hooker, long tube headers, ceramic coated on my 1998 savana 1500 van. has a 350 vortec.
Awsome. Make sure they have an 02 bong (pcm needs all sensors to properly adjust the AFR). Be prepared to give them the old hammer massage. It would be hard enough to put short tubes on it. Long tubes are gonna be a fight, just make sure u heat up any part ur gonna bend or hammer for clearance and u should be all good!
@@BlackBird_Builds wont need any of the sensors. i already converted the motor to edelbrock,EPS intake, HEI dist., also replace the 4l60e, with a stage 2 built, ,700r4, trans.
@harveynewman4333 sounds like you should be all.good then. I'd suggest going with a crossover such as an X or a H pipe
@@BlackBird_Builds im going to use the H pipe. its better for what im doing . im also, crisscrossing my exhaust because of the different lengths of ,right bank vs left bank. i curious to hear it when finished.
@@harveynewman4333I'm going with s H pipe as well. Better for down low TQ, at the cost of up high HP tho...
What headers did you go with on the g20 Looking to swap the oldies for the goodies🔥
I don't remember the brand. I got them off Amazon as a kit. They are 1 7/8 to a 3 inch collector. 4 in to 1. Short tubes
@BlackBird_Performance can you find a link for the headers, im.looking to get the same ones
@TRAVISVANZUIDEN iv tried for somone else but they have stopped selling them
Just make a cowl brother
No, it's "Stock"
@@BlackBird_Builds ohhh I see😏😏
Very helpful man thanks!
Your welcome!
What in the hillbilly Heaven is going on?
A rootin tootin race truck
Two tabs on the side you pop up… i been around a 4.3 vortec a time or two…
He's gotta learn the hard way lol
Good video, thanks. Keep er up. I was thinking I'd have to pull the wheel off passenger side an get it from the outside.
Iv done it before. It can be easier if ur a larger person
Taking off the dog house. With mine , I slide the seats back as far as I can. Lift the mounting brackets at the bottom of the dog house. Fold them up. Then move the dog house as far back on the floor as possible. Up against the seats. Now tilt the top of the dog house back . It should just barely clear the dash. It should be now clear and able to pull out of the van. That broken ground strap goes from the block to the transmission . Fix that. Clean the negative terminal up front where it bolts to the block . Mounts low on front of engine near crank pully. There's also small ground wires near headlights. Clean all grounds and mounting surfaces. Wire brush or sandpaper. I add dialectic grease to ground terminals , prevents corrosion.
I've been there on my G-20. Get a new in-line check valve. You had one when you pulled the vacuum line off the block. Check or just replace the vacuum line going to the vacuum reservoir ( round ball attached to hood. ) When the vacuum line is cracked or disconnected it effects the A/C system ( like you fixed ) and can effect your engine idle. Good job fellas.
What did you do? Just take that air duct off and clean it?
I replaced Damage vacume lines
It won't allow me to send pictures
❤❤❤ this, Ty I have a 92 Chevy G30 Sport van. I cannot get anyone to help me answer any two questions. Your controls are exactly like mine. The Ac/heater slide controls. 1 question the two control knobs on the top. The right one has a two prongs 1has a blu wire attached, the other is empty. The wire that is attached looks like a small shape blu wire that I am wondering connects to the left knob???? Any Idea? Now the left knob has 5 prongs all are attached except 1. Which I was thinking the u shaped blu wire piggy backs to. Now that's just the knob will send you pictures. From a a group of wires all band together, a bit lower there is only 1 wire not attached to anything which I was thinking goes to the second prong on right side knob that is empty?? Any Ideas??
It could be. Iv never messed with them before but the spees controls are worked off of a register. So if HI works but low or medium doesn't, then you have a bad resistor pack
Thanks for sharing this, I now have working vents ☮️
It brings me great joy to help you with that 😊
Nice I just bought an 85 G20 Good Times edition 😅
Sweet
good job
Thank you
Can you maybe do. “how to change the oil pump?”
That significantly harder to do, I wouldn't do that unless I have to. For that, you would have to drop the oil pan. It is driven off engine internals. But for that, you would need to take to a ship or significant experience
Keep the van vids coming!! 👏 👏
I will!
Oh yea!❤🎉
Hello! Where is the video part 1?
It would be us fixing the vents
Good job guys
Thank you, I appreciate it. I hope I helped with ur problem!
