GHOST TOWNS IN NORTH TEXAS
มุมมอง 21Kปีที่แล้ว
Hundreds of ghost towns are scattered throughout the state of Texas. Many date to the 1800s, an era of industrialization and westward expansions. I drove by these three towns that are not really towns anymore but would simply be described as named places. Located in Denton county; Elizabethtown, Drop and Stony at one time were frontier towns, most of which began to lose their municipality momen...

I was born and raised in South Dallas 2nd and Hatcher
Your video music is good; looks like you were driving thru small sections of Pleasant Grove, Oak Cliff and South Dallas light industrial/ business sections with various housing. It would have been great if you would have narrated, so people unfamiliar would know where you were driving in the city. Continue to show your city. 😊
I used to go to the Texas theater back in the day when I was a teenager back in the 70s and 80s
Think you for sharing this story I am from Dallas I was raised in highland hills back in the 60s 70s and 80s
The shots in this video are EXTREMELY localized. She stays back & forth on Kiest and Marsalis and Beckley. She never hits bigger streets like Ledbetter, S. Polk, Hampton, Illinois, Red Bird ln. or Westmoreland. She never goes down Ledbetter. They should've taken someone along who is really FROM there.
They went to Big T, and that's it. Maaan. This was the most boring video you can imagine riding thru Oak Cliff. They went to Big T, and didn't even turn down Ledbetter. ????????? They missed a whole two, three SIDES of the place. Then they get right back on Beckley, Kiest, and Marsalis. For us, from there, this would be a trash video. Good history lesson, tho. Should've just been audio. I'm gonna do one, myself and post it here. I'ma show y'all Oak Cliff.
Cedar Crest and Red Bird both have golf courses surrounded by middle class neighborhoods. Not to mention the area around Memorial Hospital and Bishop Arts
My uncle John Adkins had a store down that way i think? 😅
South Dallas was fun fun
I'm traveling in Texas could you give some places to of interest or slow down the video a tad bit.

I read pretty fast, but your script and any images that need to be read, like historical markers are shown too fast... please allow a few more seconds in your vids... keep up the good work!!
have you heard about the underground tunnel in Denton? i think it was from the army corps or something.
As a citizen of Denton and Denton County, as well as an historian who has just finished a book on the subject, I thank you for running this information.
Looks pretty "normal" to me. I live in Arlington, TX now right by the stadium, but I've been to many other "hoods" in my life. I've seen far worse and far better.
But every one of them is neglected and/or revered for both positive and (mostly) negative reasons.
My wife and I were about to stay right over by midevel times till I saw some of these videos and we switched to Los colinus
Black people ruined Dallas.
