    I opened mine up and left side legs tilt inward and are not straight. Is there a way to adjust them? My RD88 is very heavy. Afraid to set it on with legs not straight. My x stand kept collapsing and have not yet tried out the keyboard. I hope there is a way to adjust the legs so they are straight and supportive. Thank you for the video.

      @@Iceland874 Be really really careful with those legs! I should probably do a follow up video warning about them. I bent the hinges backwards by accident and broke the soldering from the frame. Had to have it soldered back on. And yes, the legs are not always perfectly straight. Mine now wobbles a bit. I’m sporting an 18 lb keyboard and I consider it fairly stable. However, the RD88 may be much too heavy. I’m not sure. Just be careful. I have since learned it is not perfect.

    The best explanation of drawbars I have ever seen. I have sort of a mental block with that 5-1/3 drawbar. I’ll play the video a few more times for it to sink in. Likewise, I never understood the red-dot drawbar on the lower manual of M-series spinets. It seems registrations using it cannot be duplicated on A- thru E-series consoles.

      @B3burner 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you so much for the heartfelt compliment. My greatest fear was that I was giving too much information, and that the video was too long. Glad you got valuable information out of it. And yes, as far as I know, the M-series organs have a unique sound that you won't get through the consoles you mentioned. That's why 'Green Onions' never quite sounds right on a B-3. Thank you for watching.

    Nothing that a little prep and paint can't fix. Honestly, they don't make automobiles like they used to. I know it sound cliche, but it's true. My dad had a '71 sedan Deville that in the beginning I was embarrassed to be seen in. Once I got my license and drove it, it became my favorite car to drive. My friends also loved riding in it, and they didn't fight for shotgun as there was almost as much room in the rear as there was in the front. Not a bad seat in these cars and with all the windows down it was even better. Good memories!

    I recently discovered your channel. I've been a Cadillac buff since I was 8 years old which just happens to be the year your car came out. I know everything about these mechanical climate control systems before Cadillac changed to the electronic system in 1980 on the Eldorado and Seville models. Auto does not imply air conditioning nor does it mean 'medium.' The system kind of works like the forced hot air HVAC system in a house. When you set it on 'auto' and use the wheel to set a specific temperature, the fan speed will run automatically to maintain the set temperature. If the car is really hot, the air conditioning fan will run at full speed and slowly lower itself as the desired temperature is reached. Conversely, if the car warms up a bit it will automatically kick the fan speed up a notch to maintain the temperature. The same holds true for the heat out the bottom. If the car is really cold, the fan blows at high speed until the temperature is reached and the fan automatically lowers it speed and will raise it again as need be. Now, the 'low' setting means the fan will always run at low speed no matter what you have the temperature set at. It holds true for the heat and air conditioning. It kind of 'overrides' the automatic system. The exact opposite is true for the 'high' setting. The blower for the heater or air conditioning will always run at full high speed no matter what you have the temperature set at. Personally having owned several of these vehicles beginning in 1985 and I still have a 1976 Fleetwood. I never saw the purpose for the 'high' and 'low' switches and I have never used them. Ever. I set it to automatic, set my temperature (usually between 70 to 72) and let the system do its thing. When it works properly, it works REALLY good at maintaining the set temperature.

    • @B3burner
      @B3burner 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your support and valuable information regarding the settings on the temperature control. I was 6 in 1973, so I’m just two years younger than you. I fell in love with the neighbor’s 1971 Coupe DeVille when I was 7, so more or less right there with you, as far as enthusiasm for Cadillacs at a young age.

    • @retroguy9494
      @retroguy9494 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@B3burner Thanks for the story on how you fell in love with Cadillacs! For ME, it was when my (now late) uncle bought a brand new 1973 Eldorado and drove straight from the showroom to our house. he let me sit in it and play with all the cool features that most cars didn't have back then. That was in the fall of '72 so I was 8 years old. I still have a picture of that car. It was white with gray and black hounds tooth cloth interior. I LOVED to ride in it. I used to think that climate control was the coolest thing! I bought my first Cadillac when I was in college and since then, if I'm counting right, I've had 11 of them. I still have 4. Three are classics and my daily driver is an Escalade. Interestingly, Cadillac was the first auto manufacturer in the U.S. to come out with climate control and it was the year I was born; 1964. Back then, there was a different position on that slider for air conditioning and heat until they developed the technology to where it was combined into one. GM made it available as an added option on the Buck Electra and the Oldsmobile Regency 98 beginning in the early '70's. But the one on the Cadillac was always the best.

    • @B3burner
      @B3burner 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The thing that rotates like a fan is the Leslie Speaker. It’s what gives the Hammond Organ that tremolo “whoop-whoop-whoop”. Those are speaker horns you see rotating and they throw the sound around the box and outward. The beauty is in hearing the acceleration & deceleration of the horn. One horn is the speaker and the other is a dummy horn for counter-balance.

      You're absolutely right. I think I have a tendency to constantly think about *where* I'd like the car to be at, as far as completion of tasks, instead of merely appreciating where it currently is *at*.

    Oh my, I just finished commenting on your Cadillac air conditioning video! You are a man of so many interests that are similar to mine, so I subscribed to your channel. I dream of someday playing the organ, even if it’s just half as well as you!!! I have an early 1970s Gulbransen organ parked in my dining room. Sadly it is in need of repair to the capacitors in its power supply. 😢 And you are also an aviation aficionado! Keep doing the wonderful things you are doing!

      Thank you for watching and your wonderful compliments and comments. From your username, can I presume that you too were born in 1967? I'm 57 and born in Feb 1967. That's cool about the Gulbransen. Maybe one day you can get it running again, if you are able to fix that power supply. And yes, you're right I also dig aviation, and am into flight simulation. The fact that I've put so many videos on TH-cam also implies that I'm into video editing and computers as well. You can't do one exclusively without being into the others, because they're all kind of interconnected. You have a good day, hopefully we'll talk again soon.

    Thank you for this video! I love the older Cadillacs with the Climate Control on the left hand side of the steering wheel! Your blue brocade upholstery is so elegant and classy! The “Auto” selection, although located between “Lo” and “Hi”, is not really a medium selection, but rather the mode where the fan speed adjusts automatically, anyplace between lowest speed to highest speed, to maintain the temperature selected on the thumb wheel. “Lo” means the fan speed adjusts automatically to maintain the temperature set on the thumb wheel, but the highest fan speed is never utilized. “Hi” means the fan speed adjusts automatically to maintain the temperature set on the thumb wheel, but the lowest fan speed is never utilized. When you get into Cadillacs with electronic Climate Control there are two additional selections: “Lo” manual, which operates the fan only at low speed while attempting to maintain the selected temperature. Also is “Hi” manual, which operates the fan only at high speed while maintaining the selected temperature. When set at “Lo” manual there is no guarantee that the Climate Control will be able to maintain the selected temperature when exterior temperatures are at extremes, and especially when attempting to cool the interior when “solar load” is high. The older Climate Control systems don’t incorporate a “solar load” sensor, only the newer Climate Control systems with the digital display. So in Cadillacs such as my final generation Eldorado with electronic Climate Control the operating modes for heating and cooling are as follows: “Lo” manual (fan speed is fixed at low speed) “Lo” auto (fan speed varies, favoring lower speeds) “Auto” (fan speed varies within its full operating range) “Hi” auto (fan speed varies, favoring higher speeds) “Hi” manual (fan speed is fixed at high speed)

      Thank you for all the excellent information, regarding the climate control and fan switch on my 1973 Caddy. Maybe that's why it didn't behave as I thought it would. I'll admit some of your information went a little over my head-- especially the part about the electronic climate control-- but having reread your comment a few times, it makes more sense now. You're talking about the newer Cadillacs, and at first I had missed that part. Thanks for your compliments on the upholstery. I like it too. You don't get colored interiors in cars today. Everything is some sort of grayscale. There are a few wear spots that are turning into holes in the fabric, but it's not so bad that I can justify spending the money to replace it. I'd rather keep the stock material as long as I can. Thanks for watching.

    Stock suspension is the way to go How do you insure these type of vehicles?

    • @B3burner
      @B3burner 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I prefer the stock suspension and ride height. In the 2021 video, you’ll see it was a little too low. I insure it as a standard vehicle, so I don’t have driving & mileage restrictions. However as the years go on, I’m rethinking that idea, and am wondering if I should be using classic car insurance- like Haggerty.

      haha that's right. Another CadiLLac. My personal favorites are the one on the 1972. Also, all 1972's came with the 472ci. But the 1973 is arguably the most beautiful Coupe DeviLLe. For me, it's hard to compare them, because they're all beautiful. For instance, the front of the 1969 and 1970 DeviLLe/Fleetwood is so gorgeous. I love all American card made in the late 60's ' and entire era of the 70's Huge fan of DONKS. Love the IMPALAS, CAPRICEs AND CAPRICE CLASSICs from 1971 to 1976 Really like the B bodies too, like the Buick Roadmaster oooh man And of course the G bodies@@B3burner

    Sorry you had to go through it!!! As a former Town Car owner - your story is a total BS that insurance + shops put you through!

    • @B3burner
      @B3burner 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I do agree. It did seem like the shops gave up awfully easily. And the insurance made it irresistible to have it totaled. I know exact numbers are my personal business, but I'll share them anyway, just to drive my point home. $3,200 was what insurance was offering to try to fix the car. $10,000 was what they were offering to total it out and let me get a replacement car.

  • @VitaliyKofman
    @VitaliyKofman 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How do you not able to find parts for a Crown Vic??? There are probably a dozen of them at any given junk yard!!??

    • @B3burner
      @B3burner 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @VitaliyKofman There's no doubt I probably could have found parts at a junk yard. The problem was that at that point, I was frustrated, tired of dealing with the whole thing, and (I'm a little ashamed to admit it) LAZY! As much as I pay for insurance, I didn't feel I should have to do my own leg work. That's what the body shops are for. Or so I thought. Had I gotten my own parts at a salvage yard, would insurance have covered the cost, or would they only cover OEM new-- of which they claimed there were none out there? I know you took a lot of pride in your Lincoln Town Car and (did you own a Crown before that? I don't remember); but when I saw all I had to deal with, and what little insurance was willing to pay to fix it, versus what they offered to total it-- going for a replacement car seemed like a no-brainer. Though, at times I am sorry I didn't do better to defend my Vic. I miss the car, but maybe not enough to have tried harder to save it. Sad, but true.

      Much better. I can’t believe how fast this one is healing, compared to the right one (back in 2021). I think there were more bone spurs and other complications that the surgeon had to work harder on. This one was simpler and more straightforward. Thanks for asking.

    • @B3burner
      @B3burner 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for your compliments- they mean a lot to me. The growl is a combination of basic overdrive combined with increased transformer gain & hysteresis texturing. I had to read up on the hysteresis part, and still don’t fully understand it, but I know the sound works. As for my vocals, I don’t consider myself a singer per se, but I changed the key to suit my voice, and it worked for me. I like doing songs that are catchy to me, but not necessarily that well known. It’s more fun to me that way.

    • @B3burner
      @B3burner 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While it is a painful surgery- and I’m not going to lie about that- the worst of the pain in only within the first 5 to 7 days after. After that, the pain becomes decreasingly noticeable, to the point that it’s more an aching pain from the stretching and physical therapy, than it is the sharp pain at first. My advice, when the doctor gives you pain killers, don’t wait for the pain to start before taking them. By then it’s too late. If the doctor is smart he or she will be conservative with the opioids and not overprescribe to the point of risking addiction. Don’t be afraid to switch to Ibuprofen when you think you can tolerate just that. Any swelling is better controlled by that anyway. The surgery itself is pretty low risk, so long as you have no other noteworthy medical issues. They tested my heart, and I don’t even have a heart condition- but I am 57, so they did it out of an abundance of caution, and I got a clear bill of health in that department. Infection risk is low, so long as you keep the dressing & bandages on at least 3 days. Keep an eye out for redness that travels up or down the leg, but a slight red at the perimeter of the incision is perfectly normal. I also must stress that you get your physical therapy authorized by your doctor & insurance before your surgery, if possible. That way you’re ready to go no more than a week after surgery. Scar tissue builds quickly, and it is vital to stay ahead of it, by starting PT on time, and doing your home exercises on a regular basis. That’s all I can think of at the moment. Good luck, and if you have any other questions, I will try to answer them as best as I can.
