    I stumbled upon your tutorial and oh, my God it's a game changer! I have been trying to knit for so long (and failed miserably) and almost giving up! Luckily I push through while trying the method you are teaching and I almost cry!! I did it!! My stiches are not that neat but I am still so proud of myself! Thank you so so much for taking your time and post out an easy to follow guide for someone like me to follow through. I cannot wait to give this a try again with much larger yarn. I am working with smaller yarn and needle at the moment as it's the only thing that I had. But I am having fun!

    Are you using the term “knit/knit stitch” and “garter stitch” interchangeably? If so (though I might have misunderstood) that’s a bit confusing because surely the pearl stitch is also a knit(ting) stitch?

    • @Lolonoellem97
      @Lolonoellem97 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I was so confused too, so the “garter stitch” which I prefer to refer to as a knit type. Like a finished product. Garter “stitch” is when you ONLY use the knit stitch for every single row. Somehow, it actually creates something that loooks like a double sided purl stitch. Knobby and not little v’s. The only way to get the v’s is by using the knit stitch (the only stitch you learn for garter) and then a purl back and forth. Idk how those two make this and the constant purl or constant knit stitches make a knobby knit. I hope this makes sense

    I crouched years ago I spotted this yarn of multi-color purples. Well found it difficult with the hook. I did dabble a little knitting too but totally forgot how to start. I wanted to make a head band think that's what you called it. Bless you. You were the only one who took that extra step in really slow motion. There were a couple but you taught me. My daughter was over & was so impressed she wants to learn (she's soon to be 43) I have a cousin who many years still does baby layetees she does on the side & is very successful with it Her mom did & my daughter kept in perfect condition her yellow baby cardigan. So thank you so much. Oh I'm soon to be 73. You are never to old to start something new.

    I do some crotcheting and have been wanting to learn to knit because, I heard it's easier on the hands. Have looking at multiple videos and practically gave up for months. Out of all the videos I have watched, this is by far the best video. I actually have gotten further in the first 15 minutes than I ever have before. Usually for me after the cast on it goes down hill. So thank you for making a video that I have been able to follow along with and understand. 10/10 will recommend. Thanks again.

    • @FlockAndFern
      @FlockAndFern หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad you're enjoying the video! Ah this is a great question, it's the 'tension' - how tightly you hold the ball end of the yarn which can either make your stitches too tight or too loose. With this one practice makes perfect, if you're really struggling on a specific project try using a larger size needle to cast on. Hope this helps! Happy knitting!

    • @FlockAndFern
      @FlockAndFern หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your question. If your stitches are too tight it's the 'tension', which means how tightly you hold the ball end of the yarn which can either make your stitches too tight or too loose! With this one practice makes perfect, try holding the working yarn more loosely, and don't pull the yarn too tight after you've completed a knit stitch. If you're really struggling on a specific project try using a larger size needle to cast on. Hope this helps! Happy knitting!

    Whenever I attempt to knit, there‘s always a large amount of yarn between the two needles. I never see anyone else get their‘s that long, and I don’t know what I‘m doing wrong. Can you give me ideas of what to change??

    • @FlockAndFern
      @FlockAndFern หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question, that's probably just your tension, how loosely or tightly you're holding the working yarn. Don't worry if you don't see it in the video, if I pulled my yarn loosely you would see the same thing. The most important thing is to be consistent in your tension, with this practice makes perfect. Hope this helps. Happy knitting!
