    Just finished this tonight! I had a very difficult time with the kitchener stitch cast off, but I'm a novice. Before starting the project this week, I only knew how to straight knit. I had to teach myself to purl for the rest 😂 So thank you for clear instructions! It may not be perfect, but I made a stocking for my son's first Christmas ❤

      Love this! Amazing! Yes, Kitchener cast off is a tad tricky! But well done on persevering! X

    Thank you so much for this stocking pattern. I needed to change the look of my mantle at Christmas time now that my kids grown and having kids of their own. Instead of the store bought red and white stockings, I wanted something more traditional and old fashioned. Im not that experienced of a knitter, so this pattern fit the bill. I followed along with your clear instructions. The heel of my stocking is a little wonky, but it looks charming! I have 8 stockings to go!

    After my 26 rows of the leg it doesn’t seem long enough (used Aran wool) is it okay to carry on in stocking stitch until I feel it’s long enough?

    • @FlockAndFern
      @FlockAndFern  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the pattern is for super chunky yarn so you’ll probably have to do at least double the amount of rows to get the length, but see how you go!

    Is there a way to do that main section (your christmas red section) first and then doing the cuff (your cream) later?

    • @FlockAndFern
      @FlockAndFern  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you could knit them separately and sew them together

    What is the length of this stocking?

    • @FlockAndFern
      @FlockAndFern  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, so if you use the same yarn and needle size and knit to the gauge in the pattern - the finished stocking measures approx. L 35cm x W 16cm (at the widest point). :)
