@@bmxmaster1997 Not sure. Sounds pretty hard limiter already stock
@ mine sounds like a fuel cut, if i hit rev limiter during acceleration, it really start jerking like its accelerating and decelerating as it “bangs” the limiter. a friend also had a 318i but his had a more classic rev limiter which sounded more like a hardcut and it didnt jerk the car when he hit it. is this maybe the difference between bosch motronic and ms43 ecu? i believe his car was pre facelift and mine is a facelift.

difficult to say. was getting maf values above 600. so like 3-5% percent higher than before. but outside temp was a also very cold. so cold iats. definately abit snappier throttle response now, which i like

hi, you think i can do this without removing oil pan and just taking front oil pan bolts out of timing cover and keep the pan in place? head is already off, dont really want to pull the engine or drop the subframe cuz i have no way to secure the engine without the head installed. any tips are appreciated

Just a suggestion, try using m50b25 intake airbox with e36 m3 Evo air box heat shield, it would reduce IAT and heat soaking by a lot

Hi , i have a E36 320i and i want to make Pop and Bangs. I have a MS410D3 ! So how i pin it corrected? Pin 14 and 18 and 2 to 17 ? Is it Right? How i Orient on that? Should i take the Port to OBD cable and take off the Hood? And how i know which one with which one? How is the System There ? The Number from when i take the hood off and which is there oder the number from the PORT PIN on car?😊
there are numbers inside the pin. best to check the ms41 wiki for more info

Didnt know that usefull and interesting info.gonna do that on m50b25 with s52 cams equal lengh headers x pipe only rear mufler,bosch ev6 250ccm injectors 4inch kn filter with carbon heat shield to 3.5maf from v8(wihout the mash)to stock TB litlie bit smaller then 3 inch paired to 5.5kg flywheel sinter clutch and sachs perfomance preassure plate and custom dyno tune.i would be happy to hit 230hp mark 😅😅😅again thanks for the info 🤝💪💪😅💪greetings from Croatia

I did this a couple of years ago, relocated the horn using a diagram for a bracket off the internet. I found no difference in air mass or temps. So i wondered if the air travelling through the brake duct was at too low pressure. I removed the foglight (high air pressure area) and fitted a duct which fed a larger pipe tapered into a smaller pipe and into the snorkel. I left no gaps so all the air entering the foglight duct went to the snorkel. Above 60kph, air intake temps quickly reduced to almost ambient (using MLV) but no noticable increase in air mass over the amount expected for lower intake air temps. But cooler air=more power. I then converted to 80° thermostat and adjustable thermostatically controlled fan running off modified air conditioning wiring. I get very little heat soak at all now. Runs around 90-92° when city driving and around 88° on open roads with only minimal increase in intake air temps at idle. Fan is big and quite loud though 😄

i have a 2.93 stock open on my 328i. Im hoping putting in a 3.23 i purchased from an M3 will make a difference. Sad to hear it did not make a difference in your case :(
@@Andy-bm6zo the cons outweighed the pros for me. While in gear acceleration was slightly better, I didn't like the highway Autobahn High Speed driving and high revs plus fuel consumption about 1 liter more per 100km.
Im a bit perplexed. If the ECU is capable to adjusting fueling via STFT and LTFT to get the fueling right as per ECU( Lambda 1 or 14.7), what is the purpose of going and adjusting the values so that the ECU makes minimal corrections. To me it seems easier to just adjust timing, to advance where you can that makes a performance difference and even then the Fuel trims will adjust accordingly. Say advancing the timing will equal a leaner mixture which in turn will make the ECU enrich it enough so that its stoich?
The ecu will adjust within its set limits only. WOT fueling will also be affected by the LTFTs. Base fuel map tuning is required when doing major mods like cams / injectors to get the base fuel map somewhat stoich again. Fuel map tuning first and then ignition.
@@CSI_tuning_solutions I have still yet to understand the fueling logic of the MS41. At part throttle its base fuel map + STFT + LTFT? At WOT, its base fuel map + LTFT + WOT Enrichment?
Yup. Have to get used to driving in "sport mode" and keeping the revs up and shifting higher if you want the M50's to make you smile. Before my M3 (S52) I had a 328 with the iron M52 and it you definitely needed to keep the revs up if you wanted it to be sporty. For daily driving high revs and late shifting can be a little noisy. Changing the diff is a pretty common way to improve the feeling of power. I have a low boost supercharger on the M3 (6 psi) and with only about 350whp you have to feather the throttle or you can't get traction. I'm still not sure how guys say 500hp turbo isn't enough although I would like to find out.
It’s making me wonder if it’s worth it to install an m50 intake manifold into my 1997 z3 2.8 with an m52b28. I have a bit of a lead foot so maybe no issue? 😄
@@Z3greg If racecar (not drift but time attack or hpde the M50 has some upside). If street car more torque lower makes more sense. If you want an e36 to feel sporty learn to shift at higher rpm, practice rev matching etc. In a little Z3 the 2.8 just needs to be wound up a bit and it will make you smile.
@@robertfontaine3650 thanks - I’m in the process of pulling the cylinder head, getting new valve cover (old one seems warped), resurfacing the head, cleaning up the gunk in it, maybe just new springs and lap the existing valves. ARP studs. After that want to install m50 manifold and centrifugal supercharger for around 7 psi of boost. Solid plan?
@@Z3greg Turbo is generally a better solution than supercharger for these cars. I have an old vf engineering kit on mine and I like it but I would like a 6266 or 6466 turbo much more. Assuming you are doing a centrifugal SC it will give you more power as rpm incrases and nothing in the low end. Keep the M52 intake for more torque in the low end. The blower will push the air you need into the engine no matter what intake you have under 10 psi.
@@robertfontaine3650 I’ve got a second question now lol. I think you’ve convinced me not to use centrifugal, even though it’s the easiest install. Assuming I turbo charged, or even went to Eaton m122h, I’ve been reading horror stories about cut ring gaskets leaking coolant. I’ve ordered arp studs and an Athena cut ring gasket. Multiple forums are saying no matter what they do these gaskets are leaking coolant. Some are saying a goezelle or elring stock gasket with the arp studs is plenty good up to 600hp. What gaskets have you installed on your engine and would you do differently if you rebuilt?

The entire point of the M50 manifold is more power higher at the cost of lost power lower. The upgrade is usually done with multiple bits .... Bigger injectors 24lb, 3.5" HFM, Tuning.

I cannot believe the timing! I've been tuning my MS42 timing for a couple months now, among other things like launch control, rev-hang, etc., and I've been looking and thinking about how to tune fueling since then. A couple of weeks ago I found your channel, don't even know what I was looking for, but I just checked it and didn't get what I was looking for, and now just found this awesome video. It's exactly what I needed. I already have the data and many other things that I figured out on my own. Still, I was missing the part about how to make it a sort of learning table, which is what I've been using for timing tuning, and all I needed was just to know about the existence of histograms and how to make them! Thank you so much. Edit: I just posted in the RR topic because I am trying with another software. Maybe you can help me compare results if you don't mind. Would appreciate it hardly.

In MLV HD there's a custom field feature, I use it to get the averages of stft1 & 2 average and create a new field and use it in histogram
You could use the same option to log wb from rear o2, and make a regression line equation in excel and use it in custom field to show afr
Awesome tip! just tried it out. only used that custom fields for theoretical hp and tq calc. thus far
I will be going through this much more carefully this fall when the car is running.

I have an maxxecu on my M43b16, I have a whole turbo setup build on another m43 I have, but am also wondering how much power I can get out in NA. Am really contenplating of getting this camshaft. I can adjust with my Maxxecu the timing, fuel everything what I want.
it is a regrind actually. unfortunately tuning the stock bms43 is like a mystery.

oh man that ms41 Siemens ecu (and sensors)... ran my car for 10 years with k&n air filter... had to clean the maf every 2-3 (very bad air quality) and at the end the maf died (hot air film strip had damage) so i found out that no aftermarket maf sensor works with ms41 (without tuning the car for it) so hunted for weeks for oem one second hand - prices of new ones were around 400 euro if i remember correctly - never ran sports filters of any kind, only paper ones, no issues at all as far as I know tuners just for alpha-N mode if the car us track toy just a friendly advice, never try anything funny with this model of maf sensor, or be ready to spend big
that why im always on the lookout for used ones and keep one as backup
again, useless effort.
