International Cub Dragging Tree Branch | Storm Cleanup
International Cub Dragging Tree Branch | Storm Cleanup
The Derecho storm that went across the Midwest a couple weeks ago took out the top of my big Maple tree in the front yard. It was a hefty piece and was still hung up in the tree so I trimmed off the non-weight bearing limbs first and then put a notch in one of the weight bearing ones and used the cub and some chains to get it moving. Then moved around and the cub was able to pull it out of the tree so I could chainsaw the rest of it safely.

1965 International Cub with Woods 59 Belly Mower
มุมมอง 10K4 ปีที่แล้ว
We put the Woods 59 Belly Mower on the 65 Cub today so we can finally get around to mowing the lawn. The lawn was a but overgrown so we did a first pass with the deck higher, and then a second pass with the deck at the level we wanted. Just a quick video of my daughter running a pass with it. . 1965 Farmall Cub Introduction (International Cub)
มุมมอง 6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This is just a quick introduction to dad's 1965 Farmall Cub. Nice little yellow tractor that I will be using to do a little work around the house. . . SUBSCRIBE ➡️ bit.ly/2VWKNo4 . . . . . #1965farmallcub #dadsfarmalls #farmallcub #internationalcub
When I first got hired to work for one of our local school districts, we had a number of these on Cub Lowboys and the 72 -inch version on an International 284. Has to be one of the worst mowers ever developed. They are fine as long as the grass is not too high. Get behind on your mowing and you will pay the price. Even with new blades and set up properly high grass will result in a squealing belt, and often times a twisted grass and often times a broken belt. And that long ass belt is not cheap to replace.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I have a grade a Formal A. I don't have the 3 point attach. How can I attach a grader blade?
Love cubs
Great video.
Do you know where I can get replacement pulleys for the back of the tractor before the big pull that the belts go around
Thanks so much! I’ve never put one on and now I see how I’ll do it !!
Thats a beauty!! Nice job...
Very helpful, thanks.
Cant get it to seal, is there a trick to making sure it seals so it stops leaking
You didn't show how to tighten the belt
Hey nice cub I didn’t know that they could come with down draft exhaust that’s why I always liked the Ford 8N but if you are interested you could try a little STP or some Rocket oil or some Lucus oil and thicken it up a bit but be careful if you are using it in the cold I use a Katts magnetic heater on my oil pan in winter. Does it have a draft control on the hydraulic valve? Can you lift the front tires off the ground if you want to with the hydraulics😀🇨🇦
Great video! Im looking for a deck for my 56 lo boy with a fast hitch. Have you seen a set up like that?
Love the video, I'm in the market for one of these little beauties , so just watching stuff and trying to learn about them. If you have any connections I'm in Chattanooga TN area 👍🔧👍
Let's see you bright ideas do this with those goofy zero turn radius go cart mowers!!! Can't beat the good ole tractors and tractors that mow the grass from the past, can't do it. They were designed and built to last forever as long as you maintained them properly, they WILL last you a lifetime, and you can get a lot of good work done with them to.
Very cool Video! So, watching your video, your cub serial # 226678J, I have a 1965 Cub too, it’s serial # 226600J. I find it interesting as to our cubs serials being so close together but ended up in different parts of the country. I am guessing by your mention of snow (what’s that??) you must live way north of me. My cub is just like yours without the tac. I do have a bunch of factory plows, belly mower, finish mower, and the automatic planter as my Grandad, and my dad farmed with our ole cub a lot of years.
I have the same model year.
That "screw on " cap is designed to be filled with grease then every so often you screw it in a thread or so.... forcing new grease into the bearings. So one should not have to repack them as you would a car's front wheel bearings.... just refill that cup and screw it back on!!
This is an amazing video for so many reasons. For me personally I think the best thing about this video is that it shows me exactly what needs to be included in a second hand mower when purchasing. Once I have the mower it will have a new best thing :D Thanks!
Great video ! Hey I think I forgot the little pin seal I was so distracted today, got it back together and it works great but just have this feeling I forgot that little booger, What is it's purpose and should I worry about this ?
Just bought a Super C with a Woods deck and here for the belt routing. 👍
Take pictures of the belt routing, and take notes for the twists if you can, before you remove your mower. On mine the directions is getting worn off from age and it's hard to read. Also take pictures of the mounting, to help when mounting it. I also drew a diagram of the belt routing ,with notes, and put it with manuals.
Thank you for the great install video. I just bought One of these.
great video, I have 2 farm all I bought a few months ago, been doing a lot of work on them, question, does the blade work better under the tractor or out in front ?? I have seen videos of both, also I am in the market for a scrap blade, I have a belly mower, and a sickle blade. I am in NC Thanks for your time
To be able to grade evenly,,, attach to underside. To push in a pile or push snow,, attach to front. Hope that helps
I watched yourexellent video and I believe rebuilt by pump just as you instructed. The hydraulics were working prior to my rebuild but leaking. After my rebuild I can't the hydraulics to raised the mower. Any suggestions as to what I did wrong and/or how to fix the problem? Farmer
Did you ever figure out the problem why your hydraulics were not lifting after you rebuilt the pump?
Thanks for posting this. Working on a 1956 Cub and this was a big help.
I have a cub that the front tie rob popped off, do you have a video for that repair?
Thank you for making this video! It’s very helpful!
How much doses it weigh
Hey got a question for ya. I picked up a woods 59 c-2 mower for my cub not long ago. It didn’t come with casters. Looked in the manual and casters were an Option. In your opinion do you think casters are a must have or just a nice convince but not necessary? Thanks.
The problem is finding one!!
Cub looks good. Instead of reversing the braw bar to mid mount grader blade. There is a straight bar that mounts to front holes on final drive. I was lucky enough to befriend an older gentleman. They called him Mr Farmall. He had worked 30 yrs in a International tractor dealer's shop. He knew of every model farmall tractor built. I also found removing rear wheel weights icreased the power of my 48 cub and mow like yours.
How do you attach a snow plow on there?
Cub looks nice. It's great to have a little instructions on how to use the various attachments. Is there a post hole auger that a Cub will run?
I got one that looks like this one and I don’t know what year it is..
I bought a woods mower to install on a Super A farmall. everything fit Ok. However the drive pulley attaches to the place where the flat belt pulley was. and it now turns backwards. thats the only way the belt will stay on? Do I have a mower with the wrong spindles?
Woods 59 mowers were made in two styles a regular 59 (like the one in my video), on that the blades turn to the right or clockwise, there was also a L59 the blades on that turn to the left or counter-clockwise. So my first thought is you have an L59. You could look at the blades to see which side has the cutting edge to make sure of which direction it's supposed to spin.
Excellent Video!!! I have 59A under my 1946 Farmall A and was struggling with the belt routing!!!
Thank you - glad it was helpful!
I just need display with 3 bladed cub belly mower
Thanks for the videos! I have a 1968 and I’m looking for a grader and belly mower, possibly a cultivator if you have any suggestions on where I could find some. I’m in Middle Tennessee. Keep up the videos.
Thanks Darren! There is a facebook group called "Farmall Cubs 1947-1979" I would suggest joining that and asking if anyone has one for sale in your area. You could also check out the classifieds on farmallcub.com
Thanks for putting this together. Excellent, thorough vid I know exactly what to expect now
Thank you!
The piece the bowel goes into....can you remove that?
Yes it can be removed, I have not done it. I would suggest checking out farmallcub.com and doing a search for something like "removing sediment bowl" to get some good info on the process for removing that.
can you change the angle on the blade?
Yes the angle can be changed, just a simple removal of a bolt/pin, push the blade to the angle that you want, and then reinsert the bolt/pin
Where did you by the kit with gaskets and orings??
I got them through www.tmtractor.com/
You definitely helped me out. Thank you
I just got a 66 cub and its a great little tractor.
Q
Hi there, Can you tell me what size belts are used for this? I bought mine without belts. Thanks
The belt I have on it is a Woods Equipment Belt 4152
I have a 140 but I don’t have a Woods belly mower... Thanks..
Yup I grew up on a 1948 cub.
I've used automatic transmission fluid to clean up wheel bearings before, then rinse with kerosene/mineral spirits. The a/t fluid does a good job of breaking up (liquifying) the old grease so you don't need a lot of kerosene/mineral spirits to clean the bearings up the rest of the way.
I like your video and I like the idea of a Cub channel. I just watched your front wheel bearing repack video. Would repacking the wheel bearings and tightening up the castle but take away the wheel shimmy or do you think it’s an alignment issue?
Repacking and tightening the castle nut won't change the shimmy. There are various things to look at in the steering to try to figure it out but when I get a chance I will start off by checking the set screws (steering arm lock bolt) to see if they need to be tightened up or replaced as that's a common issue on some of the older cubs. Here's a link to tmtractor that shows you what I'm referring to www.tmtractor.com/new/st/768fp.htm
thanks for the video, I could of watched 5 more Min of grading lol.
