Wander longer, nearer, further, with friends, strangers, alone, briefly or for months on end.
Our wanderings began on Hadrians Wall in England with beautiful views over the border into Scotland. Scotland called us back to The West Highland Way, The East Highland Way and the NC500. It’s become our favourite wandering spot.
We ventured further to Americas pristine Pacific Crest Trail following in the footsteps of many an admired through hiker.
What next? For us, life is about new experiences. Keep on keeping on; wandering, exploring the world, meeting new people and overcoming our fears.
We hope you can join us.

Arran Coastal Way: Part 1
Part 1 of our 4 day, 64 mile hike and wild camp of The Arran Coastal Way. Climbing Goatfell , with planned stops at Brodick, Blackwaterfoot, and Whiting Bay, and unplanned ones' at Catacol and Lamlash. A tough road walk, beautiful views, a clutter of ticks, closed cafes, and not so many wild camping spots. A beautiful but challenging trail.

Walking for Wellbeing: The 6 Reasons Why Walking Benefits Your Mental Health
We were searching for a hiking trail that we can do mountains and coastal areas and found Arran. Didn’t want to do the west Highland Way. Would you suggest this hike? How much road walking? Thank you!
It definitely gives you both. However there is a lot of road walking, and a lot of ticks. A 5/10 for us.
Well done. Haste ya back. The WHW is such a stunning trail. Loved it.
Thanks, we miss Scotland!
@@Wanderlonger Same here. I left my heart in the Highlands during my WHW hike last year. And this year during my hike on the Rob Roy Way I still left it there :) Really missing Scotland as you do!
Somebody's a Simple Minds fan. Well, thanks for sharing your adventure, and thanks for also not using clichéd Proclaimers' tracks for your soundtrack.
You’re welcome and thanks for watching. Got to admit, proclaimers nearly happened on the PCT.
Beautiful 🎉
Today, I hiked this trail
Excellent vid....thanku very much...watched this vid thinkin about purchasing... But hav changed my mind....i expect way better quality and service for the uk total cost.. Hope u both had a good trek.😊😊
Glad it helped, happy to see there’s more ultra lightweight gear options for the UK than there was when I bought that one.
Know this island very well.
Thanks for doing this trail, so I don't have to 😅 Nice coastal views, although it didn't look like that made up for the lack of camp spots, decent trail, and pubs!
We tried hard to keep it positive and the Island is well worth a visit. Just the trail was super challenging, maybe don’t pick a Tue/Wed either 🤣
@@Wanderlonger Yeah, it looks like a good place for a day trip..... as long as that day isn't a Tuesday or a Wednesday 😂
You're back! Great to see you again. I'm looking forward to following your journey.
ive had to work to buy expensive outdoor stuff....my mommy n dada were not rich....sorry kiddos
Us too, not sure how you’ve made that presumption?
Even for the drone, they stay 'on the path'.. Pathetic.
Drop the piano !
So great meeting you both and following your adventure! Hope our paths can cross again someday!❤
You guys too, thanks for some great memories
Good, honest review.
One of my favourite PCT videos, and I've watched a few! The image at 4.36 where the rain hanging in the sky lights up orange along with the clouds is simply one of the most beautiful images I've ever seen. Doing a real long distance thru hike like this is just a dream for most of us, me included, best I can manage is section hiking the Coast to Coast and Offa's Dyke, you both must have made some real sacrifices to do the PCT but I'm sure that your lives will be richer because you did. Thank you for making this video and all the videos of your PCT hike, I've watched them all and will doubtless do so again. You deserve to be seen by many more people, good luck with any future hikes that you do, I'll be looking out for more videos from you, obviously I've subscribed.
Thanks again Ian, Offa’s is on the list so hopefully one day. Life keeps getting in the way.
Blind Pilot? Good on ya mate!
Yeah, top tune!
I've just watched all five of your PCT videos and now I am bereft. I felt like I was there with you, but without the blisters, aching joints and insect bites obviously. Thank you so much for making these lovely videos, I have enjoyed them hugely. I've shared a link to one of them on my Facebook site hoping to get you a few more subscribers, you deserve to be seen by a much bigger audience. Good luck with your future adventures.
Ian, thank you so much. We get nostalgic for the trail all the time. Hopefully we can manage another everything else life throws at you. All the best.
A rather beautiful video, in a number of ways. I'm envious and in awe of your achievements!
What a lovely comment, thank you
Another very enjoyable video, I like the style of your videos, a bit different to most. Thank you.
That’s not an oil refinery
Excellent video, really enjoyable, I like the way you've edited it and the views are amazing. Thank you.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Jacinto isnt the tallest in SoCal. Its Gorgonio.
I think I said ‘in this bit of California’, I hope I did, did I? In any case thanks for watching!
Great video and adventure!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for checking it out!
Congrats to you both for an incredible achievement. The hiking gods were on your side, but no more than you deserve for making the time, meeting the costs, and making the extreme effort to make it happen. No flip-flopping, no shorts cuts, no quitting. And what a series of films, superb editing, great music and spectacular footage. Thanks for sharing and inspiring. Almost shed a tear seeing you hug each other at the end, can't imagine the sense of achievement you must have felt. All the best to you both and again, well done you scouse legends!
Thanks again for your comments, we miss it everyday. Long term plans for another - CDT perhaps. All the best, keep hiking
Absolutely love this series of films. Great to hear those scouse accents and super dry sense of humour telling the story. All the best, very jealous!! (ps people think I'm my wife's dad as well - I'll take it!).
Ah thank you very much, we loved making them - no so much editing them. Lucky us!
Shelter cove is one of the best hiker boxes on the trail and the people at BLYC are awesome.
You guys were awesome to watch.....the beautiful hell.....well done. Your voices will stay with me.
Thank you, what a lovely comment and glad you enjoyed it.
Great sound tracts too!!!
Also like to add to my other comments on other segments that the dynamics between both of you on this trip really made it probably the best PCT video series I have seen.
What a lovely comment, thank you!
Once again, best filming, video and sound editing I have ever seen for PCT videos! Also, excellent narrations! Finally, probably the best, most effective segmenting of the trip, i.e. Desert, Sierra, etc. Cudos and thank you for this wonderful entertainment!!!
Easily one of the best videos on the PCT I have seen. Excellent filming and video and sound editing!!!
Yikes! Thanks John, much appreciated.
What a fantastic achievement! Trip of a lifetime. Well done 👍👏
It is illegal to fly or possess drones in wilderness areas. Please don't fly drones in wilderness areas.
Really enjoyed these videos. Congratulations on completing the trail 👏 Glad you got to Canada before the closure!
Thank you. Us too! Not the case for so many hikers in 2022, our lucky year
…also Norway, wow
@@Wanderlonger Yeah, I'm hoping to attempt a PCT thru hike sometime in the future. Seems like it's getting more and more difficult to avoid the wildfires! Norway is breathtaking! Plus, wild camping is allowed pretty much everywhere there. Definitely worth a visit.
This is some legit film quality editing tho…
Took about a year to edit this one? Hahaha
Yeah, big job! All good things… 😉
A wonderful and fitting end to a spectacular journey. Well done you both, proud. Dad
Thanks for sharing your journey, it's been a wonderful watch and there's something so calming about your style of edit that many of the other videos doesn't quite capture. Hopefully there are more adventures on the horizon.
And thank you for watching. We hope so too, The CDT is top of the list but we also have to do life. Big move to Australia next so perhaps the TA instead, we’d be happy hiking most places
@@Wanderlonger Australia! Oh wow you guys.. slighty jealous haha. Good luck with the move! 😄
I've just seen you did the PCT...wow. I've been thinking (dreaming) about it for years. Will dive into your PCT vids, to see a rare British perspective. Good to see Russell on your vid too. Great Teaser video. I know how much effort goes into shooting, preparing and editing, not to mention hiking the damn trails! Well done indeed 👏 Justin 🤠
Yeah great for him that he managed it in the end, so many roadblocks. My own plans were 8 years in the making. Just trying to figure out how to do life and thru hikes too. Thank you, some great feedback from someone who knows
Well done lads, good trail vid 👍 I did the Cumbria Way last year and my own videos
Thanks Justin, we’re a fan of your videos too! Just stumbled across the Dales Highway and Two Moors Way, both are tempting
Cheers! 🍺 Always thinking about the next trail…
Just subbed 👍
This has always been a dream of mine. I know it's unlikely that I'll ever be able to get myself fit enough and have the time/resources to do so. But it is a stunning adventure that I enjoy living vicariously through videos of others! ❤❤❤
Vicarious until it’s not! Ours was 8 years in the making. Thanks for the comments and for watching
This is so enjoyable and simply alluring upload my friend!
Thank you very much! 1 to go
I sometimes want to avoid people, without doing the 2000 miles on the trail first 😅 Another great video, looking forward to Washington!
😂
Just gorgeous! 😊
Thank you - we miss it everyday
Eagerly awaited, amazing. Thank you.
YES! Been waiting on this.
Sorry it’s took a while!
Beautiful, thank you!
Thank you too for watching, glad you enjoyed
😢
Enjoy watching here from Philippines nice quality video
Thank you
Northern California / Southern Oregon is massively underrated (apart from the State of Jefferson nonsense 😅). The part of Lassen National Park that the PCT runs through is nice, but the rest of the park is so much better. I'd definitely recommend going back to the park, to see more, if you get chance.
Would love to one day, all the bits just off the trail that we didn’t get a chance to see because we had to do miles. Thanks for watching!
@@Wanderlonger 👍 Looking forward to the last 2 videos
