Travels in my chair
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 1 ก.พ. 2020
Welcome to Travels In My Chair. My name is Denise and I am a 70* woman who lives an active life even though I have multiple sclerosis, metastatic breast cancer which has gone into my bones, and am in a wheelchair.
My husband and I travel as much as we are able. We have an accessible travel van with a lift so we are MOBILE!
We have lots of family to see but even when we are home, there's always something going on. Whether I'm painting, writing or sharing new ideas, I have come to realize that being in a wheelchair doesn't mean life stops; it means you have the tools to experience everything life has to offer. The possibilities are endless.
I'll share my story with you and when we are able, I'll take you along on our adventures. Welcome aboard!

Wow…I really like you! I’m an artist too. That was not my career, but it is my essence. I’m 70 and healthy, but definitely feeling the age and think about my mortality. I want to do this like you are…be happy and thankful for what I have for as long as I have it, but not cover up that I am not always sunny. I live in California and spend about five days a month on the Central Valley coast. I go alone, and I’m so glad that I can still do that. I subscribed to your channel. I think that you are special. I don’t say that lightly. You are an example of kintsugi. I’m sure you know about it but maybe not the name. I’ll let you look it up.
@@seasheleyes thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. Have a wonderful weekend ❤️🌲🤗
Denise, I took fulvestrant for uterine leiomyosarcoma, which is also influenced by hormones. It worked for 11 years. I recurred again, but I am still alive 20 years after diagnosis. Best of luck to you.

First time watching you and subscribed. You are too sweet to not subscribe! You are the archetype of a wonderful woman. Thank you and I will do you sell these trees online?
Hi Laurie. Welcome to our little but mighty gang. I have a website which is www.seatrees.ca and my trees are on it. I have been so lucky that a local shop has been carrying them through til Christmas and they are going to good homes. It's so much work creating them but so so much satisfaction, too. I tell my husband it keeps me out of trouble making trees and he just shakes his head cause he knows I have spent way more than I have made. Thank goodness he is a patient man. Have a wonderful week and again, thanks so much for tuning in.
Nurse here they hit an artery
my son-in-law is a nurse and he said they did, too. I have never seen so much blood so fast. Glad the tech. was right there with me and we got it stopped in seconds.
You’re so brave and so strong! I just happened upon your channel today Denise and you are so inspiring to me. I don’t have cancer, but I do have seven different auto immune diseases that leave me extremely debilitated. I am retired and disabled and housebound. I rely on my husband to be my care provider and my companion. A few days ago I started to develop shingles and I’m actually quite sick today. It’s hard to keep a positive outlook when you’re constantly developing new ailments progressively more serious. So I understand the process that you went through to come to the conclusion about, the gratitude for the life that you’ve had and the realization that being still in this moment is OK. I will include you in my prayers. May God continue to give you strength and courage, and may you feel safe and protected in the arms of Jesus Christ. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🧡🧡🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi Debra. Did the doctor prescribe Gabapentin for your Shingles. When I had them five years ago, I had truly never felt so horrible in my life and we were traveling! Pain and red and exhausting but we were traveling with a friend who immediately took me to the nearest hospital and got on the pills. At least it helped a bit with the burning itch. And it sure didn't help my M.S. I wish you all the best and get better soon, o.k.???
@@travelsinmychair4140 I’m actually seeing a doctor in a few hours to see if there’s anything else they can give me. I already take gabapentin for bilateral neuropathy. It helps a little bit, but the itch and pain are so intense right now and it’s still spreading. Thank you for your reply. It was very kind of you. Take good care!

Hello, there, Denise. I only saw your video today as a recommendation in my feed. You talked about the expense of one of the drugs you need. My name is Denise too. They don't know how long you have or how long the drug will work. In medicine, everything is median statistics. It's just a guess based on your current tumor growth versus the current data on the new drug. You could totally respond differently and there could always be another trial or drug. I will definitely be thinking positive thoughts:)

🥀💛🥀 Awwwww, Denise, I honestly believe you are an angel from above in human form teaching me, guiding me, masterfully showing me the how-to, and paving the way for what we all will eventually face. My mom transitioned to her heavenly home from her earthy home, tucked in her own bed...safe, sound, secure, comfortly enveloped in the love of family/friends and on her own terms. BTW, the doc suggested 6 months, and she lived 7 additional years. My mom told me a story during this phase of her life: She said that during a particular night, she went to heaven, opened a beautiful gate and peaked inside an open door to the most magnificent sight she had even seen. She said that everything was a shade of green, unlike any color shade of on earth. She said she wanted to stay, but was told she had to return to her earthly home to prepare my sister and I for her eventual departure because though she was ready to remain in heaven, my sister and I were not. When she shared this with me, she was so happy, so at peace. And, seeing her so joyous created joy within me. A few weeks later, she was heaven bound. A week after my mom transitioned, I was in bed in between awake and asleep, and missing her, I felt a warm hand placed on my stomach. I opened my eyes. It was my mother looking beautiful, younger and healthy standing next to my bed, smiling down upon me. I said, "Oh mommy, I miss you." And, she just kept smiling at me. I felt so comforted, I fell asleep. The miracle was, ... she was standing. My mom had a leg amputation prior to her death due to her illness. But, when she returned to me, she was standing on her own 2 feet. And, at that point, seeing her happy and whole, I felt truly at peace. That was 11 years ago. She has visited me many times since 🥀💛🥀 I know I am a relatively new subscriber, but I truly honor, respect, love and treasure you and your humanity. You have impacted my life in ways you may never understand! 🥀💛🥀
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful story. I had a similar experience when my mom died. At home in her own bed surrounded by flowers, her family and love. She came to me one night, smiling, surrounded by children and then waved at me as she walked away. She let me know she was o.k. and I have no idea who the children were, but they sure loved her! I am so glad you are with our little but mighty group. Have a wonderful week, Ellen
Just got off the injection you are going to get. Tried it twice, once by itself and this last time with Verzenio, didn’t work. About to go on a clinical trial. Dr thinks it could give me 2 years. There are a few others after that. And as we all know, drugs keep being discovered, right. Good luck with new treatment.
