    If Arapahoe Basin Ski Area stocked pile snow like 60 feet high towards the bottom of that chairlift and just use it towards the end of the season they could have season to July even August.

    "No place to stop", what??? You had plenty room to stop. Going through those rutted turns is a piece of cake.Hey if this person has had this inflammatory pain behind his knees that I wished I had my legs amputated before God created the universe can still ski down this slope 3 times faster than you, so why can't you? A 5 year old kid went skiing down Corbet's Couloir there at Jackson Hole Ski Resort, Wyoming one of most extreme skiing runs in all of North America so why were you scared???

      I ski keystone a lot early season and this was definitely more dangerous. Keystone does a good job opening wide runs that are long. There also isn’t as much of a party scene in the early season compared to late.

      @@angelinaoutsidecan't expect the "epic" experience of a corporate mountain, when none of them care to give you skiing this late. a-basin not being a party the last weekend, would be sad for ski culture. sticking to vail resorts on weekdays will satisfy your personal preferences more but you have to pay the higher price for that shorter season. give and take

    #1 don’t worry about the stupid park. Stick to the moguls. Give yourself plenty of tree skiing. Start in not so steep tree runs. You’ll find yourself practicing different techniques just by nature and your natural ability. Take it back to moguls. Be able to take a mogul in any position. Planting pole in middle, ski behind it, in front of it. Plant poles in front, turn based on where poles are out in front. Then try quicker turns with poles in back of skis in real steep areas. Then go back to trees in steeper areas. I’m just throw in this stuff out in th case you haven’t tried certain things. I respect the hell out of your humility and skill. So many know it alls on the slopes. So many hams who only do groomed runs. Hope I see you on the hill someday in Utah, Tahoe, or Colorado.

    Are you sure this is correct? Ive heard from many people that imperial is something you should stay away from unless you're an experienced skier or rider, so that you dont fall and take others down with you. Although the ridge might be easy to ski, theres no real reason to go up here if you aren't an advanced or an expert, especially when you could take out someone else if you fall.

    • @angelinaoutside
      @angelinaoutside 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Double black is still double black, so it's not exactly an "easy run" that anyone should just go try. That said, Imperial Bowl is definitely on the easier side and would be a single black in a lot of other places imo, and I think it's a great starting point if someone is looking to do their first double black.

  • @GeorgeHayao
    @GeorgeHayao 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Currently, I guess I would be considered an advanced skier, but when I was younger, I was probably more of an expert skier, all self-taught. Would learn by reading ski magazines (no internet back then) and following ski patrollers to watch their technique. Started off with lace-up ski boots and long narrow skis. With these, I could do moguls and deep powder, which gave me the confidence that I could ski on any ski. However, now that I am 70, I would probably have to say that my level has gone down a notch or two. No longer doing much out-of-boundary skiing, although tempted if there is untracked powder. No longer going down chutes, feeling my mortality. Aah, the good old days! 😊
