Inspiring you to create & serve with excellence.
Hey I'm Sam! I've been playing guitar for nearly 2 decades and a solid chunk of that time has been spent serving in worship bands. I remember how difficult it was when I first started playing at church, but I also remember how inspiring it was to learn from the incredible musicians around me. Which leads me to this channel!
Just like I was (and continue to be) so inspired and moved by the musicians around me, I want to inspire you to create more, and ultimately use your gifting to serve your church to see more people come to know Jesus.
This channel will be a resource for song tutorials and lessons, education around the guitar and gear, as well as gear reviews and demos, all centered around the worship context. So feel free to Subscribe and say hey!

I use that Jet Rev all the time. I play shoegaze and ambient and it delivers...also, the Big Sky and cloudburst have a "sound" that is tough to get away from. At this point it's tough to sound original with either. It's like, oh yeah...sounds like strymon. meh.
Agreed! Jet Rev definitely brings it's own flavor
BRRRROOOOO!!! Fantastic!! Tonally is this all through those Tonex’s?

Hi what specific IEM are you using?
Hey I'm using the KZ ZS10 Pros
My brother, I just found this guitar and I fell in love. Thank you for your opinion, I'm gonna save some money to get one the next year!
Nice!! Yeah it's a great guitar, you'll love it!
A little late to seeing video but, I was thinking about getting into midi and I really like how you have yours setup, could you make a vid showing how you did that? Or just explain in a comment. Thank you!
Absolutely! It's actually on my list to make a more in-depth video walking through how to get this all setup, so keep an eye out, that'll be coming pretty soon! (totally happy to try to help with any questions in the meantime too)
@@SamWittek Cool! I'll keep an eye out for it!
Nice job brutha!!!
Thanks man! 💪🏼
Great video dude. It's worth noting, all tuning stability is actually the nut. locking tuners don't help with tuning stability. In order, it's Nut, saddles, tuners.
David! Thanks dude, good to know!
They charge way too much for customizations and upgrades! I think $1200 is a little steep to begin with from a Korean made guitar with Korean parts.
Yeah I thought the color change was pretty pricey which is why I stuck with the main color, plus I just really liked the color of it. I overall quality feels well worth the money though (in my opinion)
Jeff emailed me yesterday and said mine will ship in a day or two! I went with the CJ model. I have always wanted a Jazzmaster style guitar. I can’t wait!! :)
Nice! The CJ looks awesome, I was super close to grabbing that instead!
@ I was between the C2 and the CJ but the last C2 of this batch sold right before I ordered. So I want with the CJ which I’m still really happy with! If you saw their most recent IG post with the black and white CJ, that’s mine :)
@@robbyberto I did see that! Let's go man, hope you love it!
The poor man’s Veritas Portlander.

Not sure it’s a poor man’s anything
haha pretty accurate, with some offset goodness
When I first saw it I thought it was a Portlander lol
haha if that were the case then I'd have to change the title to the best guitar EVERYONES heard of
Nice vid. I love my Model CT. Jeff Lee is a craftsman and great to work with.
Nice! Those CTs look awesome, I'm sure it's a great guitar!
Beautiful tone and playing! As always!!
Thanks so much! 🙏🏻

I use Kenyon Reed's advanced captures with Tone Factor. Here I'm using the AC30 and Benson Chimera

11s! My man. Love 11s. Both my Gretschs have 11s
Yesss big big fan of 11s
Everyone is doing lambertone cremas.
Yeah, I can totally see why! They're great and super articulate, that's what I dig out of the one I have in the neck. Big fan of the Fralin PAF in the bridge though
@SamWittek I've never heard of Fralin. Interesting
@@kckrye They're awesome, I feel like I get the same level of clarity with the bridge pickup but a lot more beefiness to it
I spoke with Jeff earlier this year about the endorsement program but I’ve been on the fence because there was no good reviews or demos (until now)! These seem great. Thanks Sam!
Thanks! Yeah I was on the fence too before getting it and was wishing there were some more demos of it, which was part of why I wanted to make this video! Hope this helps! 🙌🏻
Well done. Done beautifully and tastefully. Sounds incredible. ! Thank you.
Thanks so much! 🙏🏻
The presets is designed to stereo ? Already bought your big sky presets im so happy with them
So glad you're digging the bigsky presets! 🙏🏻 These presets were designed with stereo in mind but would work just fine in mono. You might need to play with the mix and/or modulation if you find them too overpowering in mono, but besides that they'll work just fine!
@ thank you I have my pedalboard ready to stereo I want it in stereo
@@efrainmaldonado68 Perfect! Then yeah these will work great for your setup!
What is the effect at 1.41??
I'm using a lo-fi preset I made on the Chroma Console. It's a vibrato with a filter on it rolling off a lot of the high end
How do you like that guitar? Do you have any others from Citizen?
I love it! This is the only one I have from Citizen, but I'm really digging it. I'm actually posting a full review on it here on the channel tomorrow
@SamWittek awesome!!!! I cant wait to see that!!!
So does the volume knob control the headphone volume only or the 1/4 outputs as well? I want to put this under my board and don’t want to keep adjusting the volume after practicing…
Yep! The volume knob only controls the headphone volume
I want that germanium boost. How did you get it?
It's killer! I just reached out to Ethan (Tone Ranger Audio) on instagram and he built one for me. Not sure if he's doing custom builds at the moment though since I believe he's in the middle of some big plans for his business. I'd reach out though if you're interested!
On the Julianna demo what song is it ?
All Hail King Jesus!
Big Tone!
Tell me you play worship music without telling me you play worship music. Get some originality.
Hey Chris, thanks for sharing your thoughts! Just a little confused though, is there something wrong or unoriginal about the fact that I primarily play worship music?
Maybe be the person you wanna see yourself 👐🏼 Hating has not helped anyone or anything. Hope your doing well Chris and not only spewing garbage on others for doing a good job.
@benjaminkoskinen5835 You're mistaking "hating" for "my opinion." Am I not allowed to have an opinion? People put themselves out there by putting TH-cam videos up, and they have to deal with negative opinions. That's life. I think most guitar players in the worshop community have no originality when it comes to gear. The same old pedals time and time again. If you don't like my opinion, that's fine, but I'm allowed to have one.
@SamWittek It has nothing to do with playing worship music. It has everything to do with the unoriginal gear choices you all make. You can basically copy and paste a worship board for everyone to use minus one other two pedals. Oh, and I don't know why I have to clarify this, but it's my opinion. that's all. You might not like my gear choices, and that's completely fine.
@@chrishepburn1503 hey that's fine, you're totally entitled to your own opinion. I think it does bring up an interesting question though, why is it bad if people who play the same genre of music use the same gear? That would be like criticizing rock/metal players for using rat-style distortion pedals and Marshall amps instead of "being original." I think it really comes down to the player and how they use the gear rather than the gear itself. That's just my opinion though 🤷🏻♂
John Mayer goes to church now
LOL
Well done! I've often thought about this. I'm playing rhythm this Sunday and I'm going with an octave lower of the picked progression of the lead with dotted 8 note. Active listening to make sure I leave room for lead. Prob best suggestion I've heard in this vid leave rm. 👍 excellent vid!
Thanks! Sounds like fun 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Did you used overdrive dist.?
Yep! Here I'm using some overdrive and adding a boost for the big lead sections
Awesome Video, thank you so much for leading the way for the future worship guitarists!
Glad this was helpful! 🙌🏻
sounds good, but everyone has the same "sound" id like to see some unique sounds and pedals being used
Yeah that's fair! I think that's why I've been gravitating towards the Chroma Console so much, I feel like it's unlocking some new sounds and that's been really inspiring
You look like Charlie Kirk
haha not the first time I've heard that 😂
Lol, love your stuff btw
@@YeppJesus2024 haha thanks! 🙏🏻
Bro your tone is insane! Would there be any tips you could give for me because I want to record a pedalboard run-through and wanna start making videos but I don't know how lol😂
Thanks man! Yeah of course! Anything you're coming up against? I'd say all you really need is an interface and a DAW to record in to and you're all set to go! I just use garageband, you def don't need anything fancy!
These tones are unreal, Sam! You’re an inspiration!
Thanks so much! 🙏🏻
Hi Sam, I also did a setup with the Volume X Mini Pedal DVP4 after the overdrive (Ibanez TS10), but a pedalboard technician told me that this volume pedal, being high impedance, goes after the guitar. He suggested me to replace it with a low impedance pedal like Boss FV-500-L. Do you agree with this update, have you ever tried the difference or do you think that even a high impedance pedal is fine there in the middle? Thanks
Hey I haven't had any problems personally, but I know that a passive VP like this one can cause some tone suck. That's particularly why I go directly into a buffer first in my chain (and use several other buffered pedals throughout the chain). I've A/B tested going through my board vs directly into the ToneXs and I can't hear any audible tone loss so I'm personally ok with where my VP is at in the chain, but results will definitely vary depending on your setup. That's why you will see some people run the dunlop VP via expression out of a MIDI device, or a boost like the vertex boost so that it doesn't cause any tone suck. Hope this answers your question!
same here, i tried Crema and Grinder on the bridge pickup, then 3 years ago i put Lindi Fralin PAF , and since then, im happy with it.
I was close to grabbing a Grinder. I'd still like to try one at some point but man, these Fralins are amazing ❤
@@SamWittek I have an HH tele with Crema neck and Grinder bridge, lethal combo! Plenty of girth and clarity from the Grinder. But, if you're happy with the Fralins, keep them as is.
@@ryanpappenfusshhs Nice! Sounds like an awesome combo, I'd love to try a Grinder at some point! Really digging the Fralins at the moment though

This must be a worship guy. The min I see strymon on a pedal board I instantly know this must be a worship leader at a church.
It's in my contract
Hey Sam, i get so much feedback on my tele. How do i fix it? Do you use a noise gate?
Hey a noise gate would help I'm sure! I don't use one, the noise doesn't get too bad on mine. Besides a noise gate I'd also look into some cleaner power solutions, maybe like a power conditioner. Bad power can also cause noise. And besides that I'd just make sure I have an isolated power supply
@@SamWittek thank you so much for the advice! I will look into these
1981 lvl reminds me of what the em drive does when everyone was in love with that pedal like 5-10 years ago. Funny how gear circulates in ways. Great tone! Great video!
@@alexheltemes Haha so true!!
Love the ability to pull another page specifically for different presets on the Chroma Console. How do you set that up and is it exclusive to the Pro? I have the MkII and would really like to implement that to my own work flow.
I THINK you should be able to do it on the mkII, I'm not too familiar with that though. I just set up another page with a handful of Chroma presets. The "Chroma" command on my home page just toggles me over to that page where I can toggle on/off any of those Chroma presets, and then I just have the "Back" command to take me back to the home page
@ awesome! Thanks for the reply! I really like some of the workflow ideas you have going on. Definitely gonna steal a few for my own rig 😂
@@GrantDalton-d3x haha go for it! 💪🏻
Dang it Sam! Every video you drop, somehow I go in debt! Also, I think there’s another channel out there where the guy uses your guitar (and livingroom too! Unless you have two channels 😂😂)
hahah sorry man! 😂 And nah I just have the one channel lol! I'll have to keep an eye out
Hey Sam! Amazing tone. For syncing tempo to your timeline with the mc6, are you sending persisting midi clock or sending timed tap messages (at the bpm, which would set GLOBAL tempo)? I’m trying to figure out a way to set the Global tempo in the timeline with my MC6 mkii. I’m thinking that the CC Waveform generator in the mc6 might work but are you using another workaround? In a previous vid you were using midi clock but in this vid I noticed that the Tap color was orange instead of green which I think means it’s not syncing to a midi clock
Hey man thanks! I'm pretty sure I'm just sending persisting midi clock from the mc6 pro. I'm using the BPM set function and just made sure that I checked the midi clock persist box in the morningstar editor settings, so that each time I fire a new BPM it'll persist. Then on my timeline I just made sure to set it to global. As far as the difference in tap color on the timeline I didn't even notice haha, I haven't changed anything midi clock related in a long time Hope this helps!
@@SamWittek Oh gotcha that’s helpful! Whenever you’re switching timeline presets (while midi clock is still persisting), do you notice any audible glitching or ever see the bpm change on the timeline?
@@danielplaysvioli Nah I haven't noticed!
Oh lovely! Thank you Sam! Keep up the amazing tones and content 🤘
