Fishing CARP and BASS Huge BASS caught on a perch
มุมมอง 1719 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
This fishing mission is in a creek where the bass and carp funnel past a flat. I catch a nice carp on the fly rod and a huge bass on a live perch. I seldom use live bait, but that is the only thing I can get these big ol' smart bass to eat. They will laugh in your face if you swing them an artificial bait. Hope you enjoy!

Annie just came off of a surgery and needed to get a run in after 3 weeks bedrest. She got to sniff out some quail and pheasants, but the dog work was sloppy. I'll giver her a pass this time. We also took the .410 bore for snakes and Eurasian Doves which are a non native specices to the US and have no season or bag limit. It was fun to shoot the shotgun again! Hope you enjoy, Fall is just aroun...

Shooting Comanche Bow in the Heart of Comancheria and Visiting Quanah Parker Trail Arrow Marker
มุมมอง 203วันที่ผ่านมา
I got the chance to visit one of the Quanah Parker Trail Arrow markers in the heart of what once was Comancheria. I then was able to shoot my Comanche short bow that I made on the very plains where the Comanche hunted buffalo. If you love Texas history I think you will enjoy this video. Comanche history is fascinating to me, I am not claiming to be an expert, just nerding out on the Staked Plai...
Summer Crappie Fishing in June

My buddy Spencer and I got out for a few hours on a local lake and put some crappie in the boat. They made us work for them, but we ended with a good stringer and some fish for the freezer.

Nice catch!
I really liked this video. Very historical. Just a little constructive criticism though.... I once ran my own business and while at one my customers homes, he was at home over the phone salesman, I noticed a sticky note on his moniter that reminded him to not say "umm" or "uhh". And it really struck a chord with me, because I was running my own business and sales was everything. Then some years later when I went back to school I took a public speaking and interpersonal communications class and having already almost eliminating "uhh" and "umm" from my vernacular I performed very well in those classes. It's better to give a 2 or 3 second pause before starting your next sentence instead of filling it with "uhh" or "umm". Like I said, great video, and I'm just trying to help you look more professional in your videos. Keep up the good work.
Hey, Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement and feedback. Yes, I know and I notice it as well. I need to be more intentional about not saying "umm" and "uhh" -Greg
@@gregcraycroft2342 When I was working trade shows I scripted dialog with small and quick responses for customers that I would rehearse just to avoid that conundrum. It's an incredibly powerful communication tool when you can remain eye contact with your customers whilst not using "uhh" or "umm". I hope this helps you. Be well and keep making videos, friendo.

There are lots of carp near me , been saying for years I’m going to target them. That fight looked awesome!
@Jnf458 Its so much fun! Go give them a try. The fight is worth it!
@@gregcraycroft2342 do you go out and target them , or just maybe try and catch one if you happen to see one ?
@@Jnf458 I go to target carp at this spot. I carry a bass rod with me because there are bass in the creek as well. There are places I go where I will carry the fly rod if I happen to see carp feeding while targeting other fish species.
@@gregcraycroft2342 got it , yeah there are carp in a local river by me along with bass walleye and pike, i should just go out with my 6 wt , to cover all. I have carp flies just never have thrown. The fight looked awesome. How do you carry multiple rods when wading ? Anyway thanks for the awesome footage
@@Jnf458 A 6wt is perfect for carp. I am usually a little under gunned with a 4wt, but I just like the challenge. I carry a pack with me and just strap the extra rod to it. I think they make belts that would hold rods for you. Appreciate the feedback, thanks! More videos to come!
Annie is the bomb!
looking to get into this myself. what backing and fly line do you use? and just regular 10 lb flouro or do you go for a fly fishing specialty
and how long of a leader do you run?
@@justblazin6309 The fly line is Scientific Angler 4wt, I don't remember the model. I use 10lb Stren Florocast for my tippit. It is not a fly fishing specific tippit. Its usually 2ft or so long. The whole leader is around 7-8ft. Good luck!
I have used the seaguar (in the spinning section, red box) and yo zuri brand fluoro for my last two sections for years. both good fluoro. I use maxima for the rear two sections.
Great video ya'll!
Annie!!!
Greg I am changing your contact in my phone to "Whoa Annie"
Good fishing run!
Thanks 👍
