Turkey Hunting Central Texas

This turkey season was a tough one. The prime early April weeks where filled up with events and the late April hunts had the birds not gobbling much other than first light off the roost. I was able to take a jake off camera as he came in suddenly without warning. The later birds in the video flanked us and we got busted. The next morning we had 3 gobblers hot to trot off the roost, but they would not cross a gate that is normally not closed. Regardless, chasing gobblers in the spring might be my favorite thing in the outdoors and always a good time with or without a bird in hand.
