Another good video Paul, there was a lot of misinformation and scaremongering by authorities at the time. The organisers, with expertise from the Isle of Man TT, had it well sorted. Rolling, part time road closures. Significant Ambulance and Medical cover not just for the racers, but the residents as well. It would have been great for the local economy. Doesn't seem to be a problem shutting roads for cycle races, with no consultation, nor any medical cover. Rant over 😂

ex-Portsmouth native here , I hope and pray it goes ahead, it would be a massive boost for the region and island. All the council need to do is look at the increasing popularity of the TT (and the Goodwood Festival of Speed) and the income it brings. Definite no-brainer. Thanks for showing us the proposed track. Unfortunately I can't see how the worst 25% could ever be made suitable for racing motorcycles around. It needs to be wider, smoother and safer. Have you ever raced a bike? 🤔

This island really does need the Diamond. Just look at the speed trials they have allowed and see how that is growing in popularity. The race would run right through the village where I live, yes it would cause inconvenience for a while but less so than the daily lumbering traffic that clogs the island already. Worded badly but £30 million council, come on!

£30 million would be amazing. Imagine how much of it the council could waste! They'd probably spend a lot on building more houses. Has the island got enough infrastructure to cope such as places for people to stay?

One of my favourite roads I call the the Shorwell Shute Road, some of my family used to live in Brighstone and did some smuggling way back , going out this week military from freshwater back to Neipert then down Cowes perfect

When l am too feeble l will buy a Fembot to drive me around on the URAL side car outfit. She can connect to the Internet and do mechanical duties as well as other things. I can't wait. I love riding my collection of vintage British motorcycles. I have had my Triumph Tr-6 with a hard tail and magneto for 40 years.

The Island was formed at the end of the Ice Age. As the ice receeded north the weight of ice lessened on the UK and the land tilted allowing the sea to form the Solent from a river to what it is now. The skeleton of a whale was found half way across the width of Scotland indicating how much the land mass had risen.

You needn't worry about worry about electric cars and bikes, it won't happen, this and many other stupid things that were being told will happen, the purpose is to wake up the people that are still asleep, to take back our sovereignty!. Look into it deeper and you will find that this is correct. Incidentally Brighstone school is where I started my school days, in1949, I lived in Hulverstone then moved to Marsh Green then to Brook House at Brook, well known in the area, I was known as "Doodlebug".

That was a fine ride on a fine day! How tolerant is the driving in peak tourist times? I notice the roads, for obvious reason are fairly small.

Lovely rideout and some lovely bikes there. I have two almost identical helmets although one is a full face (Shoei GT Air 2) and one is a flip face (Shoei Neotec 2). They were released by Shoei at the same time and are almost the same in shape etc, but one is modular. I've noticed that the modular is definitely quieter than the normal helmet. The neck seals tighter which stops noise entering from below. Modular helmets can look a bit "delivery rider" but if you get a good brand such as Schuberth or Shoei they are hard to beat.

I was born on the I.O.W and passed my test there when I was sixteen in 1969. We always tried out our new bikes on the Military Road back in the day. I left the island in 1981 and used to go back regularly till my mother died in 2016 but strangely enough was on the Island myself last weekend on my KTM 390 ADV. Of course I rode the Military Road but unfortunately couldn't do my usual round the Island tour because the roads going in and out of Ventnor have been shut due to landslips. I always used to ride Triumphs even had a new bonny bought from Deve Death in Carisbrooke on HP in 1976. Gave up the Triumphs in 2018 when I slipped over on a gravel fire road on my Tiger 800 in Spain a few years ago and realised I didn't need such a heavy bike to travel Europe and bought the KTM. Did try to do a travel log on the bike last week myself but had a lot of problems with the action camera 🤔 You did well without a helmet mount 👍

Bless you all for turning out for the old biker. Top lads and lasses. . It MUST be really hard to give up biking. I'm dreading it. Big call for him too to end it that day. My dad has just died at 89, and rode till he was 85. Ended up on a SYM 300 SCOOTER which he loved. Had an accident which sadly was his fault. He never really got over it, but biking played a big part in his life. This isn't about us but to you chaps showing respect for the old lad. He must have gone home feeling well chuffed. BLESS YOU ALL.

Excellent turn out for the chap. A pity you didn't get to have a chat with him about his biking history. I think that what you said was Kwaka was a Honda Goldwing early variant as it was a flat 4 engine.

You don't need multiple cameras, I just fix inconspicuous mounts and change camera view when I feel like it . Keep up the good work 👍

Where you said, "Here is a nice view point spot" might be a good place to drop in a still or two, so instead of just passing by, the viewer gets the chance to enjoy the view with you.

I thought the ' Middle Road' was the road that went from Carisbrooke to Afton at Freshwater.

Weather's shaping up just a little bit now isn't it. So although the island isn't large you can get a nice day's ride out there with out doubling back on oneself?

Legend has it that The Blacksmiths Arms was once the haunt of Smugglers, and Betty was the daughter of one of the smugglers and a buxom barmaid at the pub. She was encouraged by the smugglers to "make up to" the Revenue men who came into the pub, to gather information. She fell for one of the Revenue men and passed the information the wrong way. The smugglers discovered her duplicity and murdered the excise man, and poor Betty was strangled for her treachery, in the lane near the pub, and is said to haunt it. Many older residents knew the pub at "The Betty Haunt".

Many thanks for this. I unfortunately had an open mic on the camera so it was picking up all the wind noise which I’ve tried to eq out a bit but I didn’t want to lose the ambient sound.
