I find y’all’s takes regarding Generations here very… interesting. imo Generations is downright the best Sonic has *ever* felt in terms of Boost-style stages/level design. The amount of combos of actions I can string together on a stage like Sky Sanctuary is crazy. Air boost into homing attack into a stomp, then boost and slide, it all feels incredibly responsive. Slower platforming sections in 3D are definitely an obstacle but Sonic’s shorter standstill homing attack helps a lot and slow platforming in 2D feels downright perfect. In contrast, while Frontiers feels absolutely amazing in the open zone (when you’re not jumping out of a boost, anyway), inside the Cyberspace stages he feels so so so terrible. In 3D I can barely get the distance I want with the air boost, and in 2D he feels, well… like you took a brick and tied it to the controller. Add on the absolute dogshit homing attack buffer and Frontiers Sonic feels TERRIBLE in traditional levels.

They were too focused on making this game competitive forgetting that this is a Mario Game. Once again clearly had a Golden Age in the 2000s since every game is a remake or inferior sequel

Its sad that a game that came out in 2007 has more content and modes than a game that came out in 2022 and the fact that we had to rely on dlc is just terrible. This is a disgrace.

Even mario kart 8 deluxe had dlc that was ACTUALLY good.

13:15 This is what I hate the most about the golie in battle league. Why the fk would that shot stun him? Garbage shot from midfiled from toad. In charged only special shots(which means you always had to fully charge them) would stun him and in GC strikers only charged shots close to the goal would stun him but never noncharged shots especially from longer distance. Since battle league has no special shots only the perfect shot should have chance to stun the goalie but not garbage noncharged shots from mid field.

I honestly think that the hot take about Colors and Unleashed having better controls then Generations is not too good. Almost everything that Oreogods friend stated was completely biased, the movement is way more fluent and responsive then the stiff ass and finicky controls in Unleashed or Colers, also the lightspeed dash works extremely well, the criticism that he made about how the lightspeed dash only works on glowing rings makes little sense because Sega made it so that when mandatory rings can be used to Lightspeed dash so it's not like you're going to need it outside of those specific sections. You didn't even mention how the drift is the best out of the three.. Scratch that, FOUR if you count Frontiers. The level design also mostly supports the style of movement that is in Generations, the 3D section's are on par with Unleashed and it baffles me that some people actually think that this game has bad controls and sucks when it literally does the controls better then both Unleashed and Colors. This isn't just an opinion... It's clearly a fact when you compare Sonic Generations controls to something like Colors which had janky and somewhat stiff movement. When you're at low speeds, you tend to never be able to go in a straight line because of their only being eight directions in the game and when you're at high speed, you are way more stiff and can barely move Sonic in any direction, despite what this video tells you. Now yes Generations does have problems like how the jump just doesn't work in the 2D platforming sections and yes I will admit, Colors does platforming better but at least Generations platforming is better then the excuse for platforming that we got in Unleashed. All and all, I don't want to seem rude but I just found this person's opinion to be biased since he only brings up the negatives and even then, some of the negatives aren't really true like the Lightspeed dash being shit or the movement being shit when its basically the exact same as Unleashed except just a bit better because of implementations like the more fluent drift.

You need to pay attention to his running animation and his movement speed. Does his feet actually move as fast as the ground he is pushing or is he getting slided forward.

I know this video is a bit old, but you missed some important details. -Sonic Cd has a non vinyil version of the ost that looks way better that the Vynil one you showed. -Same with Sonic 06, the actual OST is a very sick looking album, nothing like the one you showed. -Sonic the fighters has one too! -Sonic Frontiers, Forces, Adventure, Adventure 2, Mania and Spinball got Vynil releases.
