I have the Sapphire Nitro +6950 XT. Which 6950 do you have?
XFX Speedster MERC 319
Great channel man! i also have a Linux gaming channel called Only Linux Gaming. I haven't posted in a while, but i plan to start back up again soon.
Thanks man! DCS is the only reason I have a Windows machine at all and I want to rip my hair out everytime I use it. Linux is de wey.
@namactual6992 yeah man, I know what you mean. Luckily I have never used windows, and started linux back in 2000. So I can't use a computer that doesn't have a Linux terminal.
please add an RT on, i wanna know how 6950xt does with RT.
th-cam.com/video/byO9YjxNZB4/w-d-xo.html Here you go.
Just playing with different settings. I know this is not as clear as 4k, but this upload was only 3gb rather than 30. I think I am going to leave the 4k stuff to smaller videos. I just spend too much time finalizing and uploading those larger videos. I don't have that kind of free time.
I do not know if you know this...but on the Normandy2 map, if you set the mission date after 1945, the lights in the city will show at night.
Ha, I never tried that to be honest. I will have to give that a shot.
I can't run this module reliably at 4k so I am sticking to 2560x1440 for now. The replays don't break like the Huey when using door gunners though, so that's good.
This will run just as well at 4k, but I am forced to record using OBS Studio using CPU h.264 and the file sizes are too large for 1 hour+ sessions. I will probably leave this playthrough here unless there is any interest in going further. This is a rather long game.
just an advice you can get more power out of the engine there is a button you have to bind it will kick in the "electric afterburner" and you get more power
Aye. I do use it, usually during take off. You can see it kick on shortly after the takeoff roll. I try to keep the ITT under *860 for long periods like the manual states even though it does not seem to be an issue for the CC model.
@@namactual6992 you are just making you slower i keep it running all the time until i land.
It has been a while since I have flown this, I was a bit rusty.
Great quality image! 👌
Thanks! 👍
Thanks for the support and feedback! There’s a free-look enable button you can bind, and an option to toggle free look (necessary if you want to be able to move the cyclic while it’s on 👀) There’s probably something I can do to make the civilians easier to land around
Mini review, playing with a stick, collective and pedal setup using the “difficult” physics setting. A fun little game. Well worth the price of admission. +Fun yet simple gameplay +Looks good and can run on a potato -NPC pickup needs a tweak -Missing TrackIR support I only have two minor complaints. 1: Picking up NPC’s needs a tweak. There needs to be a pickup circle around them and they need to stay put until you land. Right now they run towards you once you get close and they will push the helicopter around until you completely stop. This does not work when you have a tiny pickup area as you are trying to carefully land in a small space and the guy pushes into objects or off of buildings. 2: Spacial awareness. I set the “look” options up on my hat switch which binds correctly, but does not seem to work in game. There is an inertial view which kind of helps your FOV while turning, but does absolutely nothing for you while trying to land. It makes landing difficult as a result. In short this is a good simple game. Something I can just relax and have fun with while still practicing my basic helo skills. With added Track IR support and a little tweak to the NPC pickups, this would be almost perfect.
Is the rx 6950 XT a good purchase at $499?💀
Absolutely! It's still in the top ten cards on the market when it comes to raw rasterization. I have not looked at prices recently, but I bet that puts it on top of every other card in it's class considering price vs performance.
@@namactual6992 Of course, there are only three things that concern me 1. The power consumption, I have seen it consumes 330w and that is much increase in temperature. 2.Frame-generation technologies will be placed behind new generations, such as FSR 3.1 etc. 3. I don’t know if this is a problem, but how does productivity performance work? With which nvidia GPU is comparable?
Power consumption is high, but no higher than any other card in that performance range. The 6950XT supports FSR3.1. DCS doesn't, but the card supports it. Honestly, outside of upscaling, I don't use any of the other things like frame generation. This card supports frame gen and I have tried it, but other than doubling the frame rate artificially, I see no visual difference in game. As far as productivity goes, I guess that depends on what you use it for. I primarily game and do artwork on this rig. Blender supports GPU acceleration using the 6950, but I could not tell you how it compares to a 4080. The only thing I can say is I am happy with it.
The HIP is very underated. One of my favorite modules.
Aye. The more I fly it, the more I like it. I don't fly it nearly enough.
Random upload, nothing special. Just testing some custom triggers and was unexpectedly shot down.
The performance on this module sucks goat nuts so I probably will not be using this too much.
18:31 shadow appearing
heard echo19 is doing the sounds later
how many inch your monitor has?
Nice, I Have to get a 4k Monitor - watched it on my 4K TV tho :)
Quick Review 1: Graphics - 7/10 Good enough. It may not be up to the “Heatblur” standard, but it does the job. In fact, I can appreciate the fact that it looks good without the need for multiple uncompressed 8k textures that you will never see while in game. My VRAM and SSD also appreciate the lighter load as well. I would like it to be a little better, but there is no need for the extreme either. 2: Flight Model - 8/10 Feels good. This is by far the easiest helo to fly in DCS. It almost feels like cheating. But it does behave as it should. I have not tried it with the stabilization system disabled, but so far I like what I see. It could use a little more feedback during transitional lift and VRS, but the audio cues work somewhat. 3: Damage model - 4/10 Ehh… It seems there is a simulated damage model, but the graphical representation of it is non existent. I have hit power lines and see bullet holes. Not to mention completely crash and outside of breaking the main rotor, the model has no damage. This is not required to enjoy the module, but it feels extremely cheap. Especially for a 70$ “premium” module. 4: Sound - 2/10 It’s pretty bad. The sounds are pretty bad. No other way to put it. Again, it feels cheap. Almost free mod level cheap. Overall - 7/10 I like it. I like it and I am sure I will get my moneys worth out of it. It does need work though. Hopefully they continue fine tune the rough edges and bring it up to the Gazelle level at least.
I must be doing something wrong cos this runs like crap on my system. 5900x & 7900xtx
Hmm... Are you running VR? What resolution?
The F1 AI flight model is the most annoying FM on DCS. I changed my Program files on the F1 FM now it’s a challenge but not annoying and the F1 isn’t wiping its tail around like a big cat doing 180 knt at 25 feet off the deck.
Aye. This is one of the reasons I start low with these. It gives them no where to go but up. It seems to help even out the AI as long as they don't crater.
need a reshade video asap !!
Sorry about the delay. I have not had much free time lately. Things should cool down at work here in about a month or so.
@@namactual6992 sounds good thankyou!
How to disable killfeed ?
Options/Misc Uncheck "Battle Damage Assessment" under the "Overlays" section.
@@namactual6992 Thank you, baby
Sorry for the recycled mission/content. I wanted to test the new update, but did not have the free time to create a new mission.
loved the F4 from my first ride in it back in the early 80`s. Not going to get it because I have too many others that I don't fly.. You do VR with that GPU thinking of upgrading my 2070s to a 7900xt , or a 4070tiS
I have not used VR since they tried to force Meta as a requirement to use the hardware I bought before Meta was a thing. Lesson learned. I am going to hold off on VR until someone makes one that is open source. Or if Valve makes a new version of the index. I think AMD has better rasterization performance per dollar compared to nVidia, but nVidia is undoubtedly the king right now. Especially if you want to use the new tech like raytracing and DLSS. AMD's FSR is pretty weak in comparison.
really wish they would add an AI co-pilot gunner
Beautiful !
Beautiful as always sir !
Do you have FSR turned on?
I do. FSR at 0.66 scale in this particular video. When I am just playing and not recording I usually run 1440(2k) native, but if I am specifically recording something for a video I usually run 4k with FSR.
I own most of the Orbx mesh for MSFS and it looks so much better than this. All of the shorelines look exactly the same. The coastal ares have no transition and the valleys in the mountains look soupy. Needs a lot of work besides filling in all of the missing pieces at this hefty price and SSD space. Looks much better at 30,000 ft unfortunately. Hope it improves.
I am sure it will improve. That said, I don't think it will ever look like MSFS. Not without a massive engine update/change. I don't think it would be a fair comparison. Both may be flight sims, but their priorities are completely different.
I see that you are driving the HIP some more. What do you think of her? I really love that module.
I like it, a lot. I think I have a good feel on how it flies now. I can hover, start and stop all pretty well. It is just the initial take off I am still struggling with. Sometimes it just wants to swap ends no matter where the flight controls are at. It's weird. I do like it though.
Visuals where beautiful as always put this just had way to much micro-stutters to be smooth. Don't know if it was just in the recording or the video. If in game check you v-sync settings.
It's possible. The performance on this map is not that great. It is on par with the South Atlantic map which is not the best. Although, it is only a few frames and I don't see much of a difference visually without the FPS counter. I think what you are seeing is when I use the mouse to pan in the external views? It is really jerky. I don't know if it is just my mouse or DCS, but it has always been that way. I think motion blur + FSR compounds the issue too. I typically pan around until I get a shot I like then record a bit without touching the mouse. Later I go back and edit out all of the parts with the mouse pans. This particular video was comprised of two videos that where each over an hour long. I did not spend as much time editing out all of the rough mouse movements with this one. Or you could be seeing something that I am not. Which is entirely possible. My eyesight has taken a nose dive these last few years. Getting old sucks. :)
@@namactual6992 Dis-regard what I said, I went back and rewatched your this on Google Chrome ( I always use Opera GTX ) and was smooth as butter, I think it is just my Opera browser that was messing up. After watching on chrome, it looked like I was used to seeing from you. Well done sir.
No sweat. I noticed I have been having a lot of playback issues myself lately. (Linux/Firefox) I would not be surprised if google was doing this purposely to try and encourage users to use chrome.
It's great to discover Kola map with UH-1
CPU and RAM handle more than half of this simulation, of course you need a graphics card, it will have a nice atmosphere.
Damn nice! Do you play VR too? I've got almost exactly the same rig + HOTAS (though I have an RX 6900 XTXH and non-3D 5800X) and VR is perfectly doable for me.
Thanks! I do own an Oculus Rift, but I have not used it since they made Meta a requirement to use the hardware. I love VR, but I refuse the buy into it again until we get a proper open source HMD.
@@namactual6992 Ahh alright, thanks for the response
are these missions available like in default dcs when you own the huey? or how do i play these?
Sadly no. There are a few training/simple missions available for just about every module you pay for and there are premium missions you can buy, but this was all custom made. But for me that is the best part of DCS. It is basically an endless sandbox with a massive library of content to make whatever you want for free. The only thing you have to buy is any aircraft you want to fly yourself. Just be prepared to sit down and go through a few mission editor tutorials. It will not take you long to get started on simple missions. It might take a while to learn what you can and cannot do though. That has been the most difficult part for me. Trying to keep things simple. The more you try to script, the more things break.
@@namactual6992 thanks. i purchased the huey at minute 1, but have not flowin it for long. now returning, but struggling with the insanely laree key map settings. took a default mission and did not manage to fire the damn missiles off. one of the reasons i avoid dcs is the stupid ui and some other stuff, it just has these frustrating elements, gotten a bit better over the years, but cost me a lot of nerves and patience with these ED guys.
You adjusted the Axis curves. Is it that hard to fly without doing anything with them?
Aye. I would not say it is impossible, but near enough. It might be ok with a force feedback stick using a long enough extension, but not with your standard flight stick.
@@namactual6992 How does the Apache compare to it? I mean, regarding flying it with a standard setup. I got a Winwing F-16EX stick. Might be too short. I heard the Apache is even more difficult to fly than the Gazelle.
I do not have the Apache yet. Which is odd because I absolutely love the Apache. I just have no interest in flying it. But back on the topic of flight controls, I think you will be fine. Even with the Gazelle and a cheap T.16000M like I have you just have to tweak the input curves a bit. I can't speak for the Apache, but the Gazelle is just WAY too touchy using raw input. POI happens too easily and once you start, it is almost impossible to stabilize. If you tone down the overall input and add a bit of curve, it is manageable. This video is proof of that. This was my first real flight with the Gazelle outside of a few quick hovers to tweak the input curves.
Why you dont use FSR? thanks <3 and its 4k? or 2k? i love your video <3
Thanks! I use FSR sometimes, but for the most part I prefer to use 2560x1440 (2k) native when I play. FSR at 4k does look better, but the ghosting that the native TAA causes is just annoying enough that I prefer not to use it. Maybe once we get Vulkan support and a newer version of FSR I will use it all of the time.
@@namactual6992 ohh i see and another question, you dont prefer play with vr?
I love VR. I am just waiting for an open source HMD before I buy a new one.
Be nice if you made comments so we can learn how you do the mission.
Are you asking for a tutorial on how I create these missions, or do you mean record commentary while I fly the missions?
When you use autohover at landing on the platform, can you decend with colective for a stable landing?
I did not even know there was an auto-hover. I may have to give that a shot.
I cannot control my Huey, it's so difficult to keep it stable.
You need a force feedback joystick to set/trim your stick position.
It just takes practice. Just keep at it and you will get better.
It's in the controls. I have a 22" extension with hydraulic feedback on the cyclic, pedals, and collective. If you flew my setup I guarantee you'd fly that Huey like you owned one.
wow nice, is that tab is part of the module or a mod?
The tablet is part of the module.
Jauh dari Mekkah-Madinah .😊(¡)!!!
It definitely needs tweaking , the take off and trim are very odd . The Apache is way ahead in trim and flight . The problem is , this module has been left untouched for 7 years . AND That is not good .
Has it been that long? Man, time flies.
What are you talking about? The Gazelle just got two FM overhauls in last few month and just lately a visual overhaul.

how did you get that filter for the lightning? it looks great
Thanks! I use Reshade. I have been working on a reshade video, but my free time has been less than zero lately. I will try to finish it up next weekend if I can.
@@namactual6992 Would love to see your reshade settings, your dcs looks amazing with your 6950xt
I also have a 6950XT, and it works great for DCS. I recently added a Asus 670E-E mobo and a 7900X 3D. Graphics are amazing. Won't need anything newer for a while yet. Thanks for sharing your flight👍
Aye, I dig this 6950. I just wish it was not so power hungry.
