Thule UpRide Side Switch
The Thule UpRide, I would strongly suggest as I have traveled over 5000 km with them now and they are still going strong.
Here is how to change the side which thankfully is easy as can be.
Enjoy!

How to switch the rear wheel strap?
Hey there, just posted a short just for this. Thanks for the suggestion! th-cam.com/users/shortskoqtRaP8ZmI?feature=share
Great video - the Thule instructions were no bueno and this video helped a lot! Major props!
Thanks, glad it helped and hope they serve you well. Mine are still doing great!
Hey buddy did you end up recording how to install the Thule upride on the left side with the bike facing forward rather than backwards
Hey, I'm sorry it's been so long. I'll record, edit and post tonight
@@TheRouge All good no rush! I was just curious haha. I’ll keep an eye out for it!
I still don’t know whether or not I just get this or buy the better Yakima highroad. This looks good enough …
Whatever works best for you. I've had these working for me for well over 5000 km all in all and they're still "new"
@@TheRouge yeah the Yakima is a little more pricier but they are more aero dynamic. But Thule looks like it’s gets the job done still
How’d you get it to fit on the right side of the car and make the bike face forward
The mounting triangle you can flip around and the back piece just slides off and can rotate. Full how to video coming soon. Thanks for asking!
@@TheRouge Yea would love a video on that! I’m sure others would appreciate it too ! Ty!
How about two pairs of skis and poles?
Those will fit in there with ease too.
How about cleaning the fan before installing a new cover?
how much is it
When I bought them they were $380 Canadian each
Too fucking expensive 😂
Anything Thule, expect to pay over 300
😮
If it’s looking good it’s running good
That’s the vent not fan
Hell yeah!
Will definitely be making more
Thats the cover for of which u speak
Wait 😂
Hahahahahaha THANK YOU!!
Great tutorial! What kind of mount is that?
Thank you! The UpRide (599000) and the bars are the aero bars which are no longer available but the most similar ones available now are the Wingbar Evos (711100)
@@TheRouge I appreciate you sharing the information and will check out that winbar evos model. Have a great day!
@@Fayz-1 not a problem! Hope you have a great day as well!
Well done beautiful work
The fan cover doesn’t match… is this a joke?
Did you want me to paint it too?
That’s not fan it is just cover replacement but thank you anyway
Maybe I should make an actual replacement video 🤔
I have the same Nautilus exhaust fan,
If eminem didn’t rap 🤙
🤣😂 he'd show the real way to change a washroom fan?
Zark Muckerburg
🤣😂
hi wil it fit 130cm long wheelbase mountain bike
It should, my Commencal is a 128.5 cm which is right at the end of the track. The specifications suggest it will hold right up to 130 cm though so it should be right on.
@@TheRouge thank you
Skinwalker???
I mean I would eat it 😂 first pin?
Hahaha you could 🤣
Thank you for this video. I have the same meta and was concerned about fit. This has eased my nerves. Thanks!
Kyle, glad this confirmed the fit for you. The season is coming in hot!
Hello,Bro. Would u be interested in testing a bike phone mount for free?
Would be crazy not to, I've only used the Thule one so far and the bar is set nice and high.

Bro whacked the cover prior to recording💀
Hahaha yup, it fell when I was taking it off initially to try cleaning it to bring it back to life.
Love the idea of mixing in come burpees
Thanks! Nice and warmed up for them so may as well right
How did you make it on the driver side they all come to face the passenger
Hey there, this is done by taking the front end apart and flipping the back piece around. Here is the video of the installation process: th-cam.com/video/nURWSMZbP80/w-d-xo.html
I’m planing to buy one of these rack. Can i know is it a 29” wheel size bike that you are mounting? Also is it possible to mount 3 racks of these kind on a SUV roof. Thanks
Hey there, you got it. The bike I am putting on is a 29" and yea you can definitely get away with three. You may want to have two forward and one backward to keep the bars out of the way. And just make sure to be within weight rating of the bars too.
If the glove fits! 🙃 How are the fan's internals, though? That looks like a tougher battle!
I may just have to do the view from the attic of how to change the fan itself. The internals are nice and fresh but of course not completely shown
How do i get my bike in there?
🤣 may need to find folding wheels and learn how to weld
Great video by the way! So to have both racks facing the same way on the car you have to unscrew the wheel cage and flip it around right? I think that’s worth mentioning. Both the racks look way more cool facing the same way.
Thank you J D, you got it. To have both facing forward that rotation is needed. And to have both facing forward makes for easier on and off as well as looks better. Also I didn't find much of a difference in terms of efficiency. I drove 1000km with them the same way and 1000km with them opposite.
🤔
Now I can plug things with without them falling out 🙂
Not the fan dude lol
Hahaha darn
That's only a new cover. Not a new fan...
🤣😂 it's all new
For a minute, I thought you were Johannes Boe. Turns out you are his look alike 😅

*Fits my car perfectly with my new **Latest.Bike** raker , very easy to set up and take down. Great quality and price, very happy with this purchase!*
Frank! Glad we're on the same page. Absolutely love mine. Have been using them for over 4500km now and they're still in great shape! Oh and so are my bikes!
I like this rack and have owned it around 6 months . However, it failed me 3 times recently (bike fell to one side, only the rear strap kept it from falling to street) while driving. Can you explain what may have gone wrong. All I can say is if you don't hear the "click" when raising bar 2 around front wheel is THAT MEANS THE BIKE IS NOT SECURE. This is the common thread fror each time mike bike flipped sideways on the rack causing mostly damage to my car roof. VERY SCARY WHILE DRIVING
Hey there, sorry you're experiencing this. I'm sure you know but set the front to appropriate wheel size, once this is done and is ready to be loaded set bike into place and the ratchet bar clicks in place. Slide the ratchet bar down until resting on the tire then use the grey ratchet for a few more clicks to ensure the front wheel is well secure. The rear wheel now needs to be fastened by the rear ratchet. I may just have to make a short for this to go over proper placement. Hope this helps and if not, let me know.
In this case maybe the Thule top ride fork mount may be a more secure option? I was debating for a while between both but just got the top ride and I have a tall SUV so I'm hoping it will also be easier to load.
The second time I used this to transport my bike it fell over thankfully towards the middle of the roof so it wasn't over the the side of the car. I guess maybe I didn't have the front wheel guide locked in to the correct size but it was kind of scary. This has me worried about transporting it on the highway at high speeds. I've used tailgate Thule bike carriers systems for years without any difficulties as that secure AF!
What is the distance between your racks? Is there a requirement/special instructions for thule upride?
Hey there Lloyd, that's a very good question I just went through documents and have not found a mention on spacing. Mine are pretty close are 30 in/ 76.5 cm apart and have been just dandy
Thanks for called me up
Thanks for the tips, they helped a lot
Not a problem at all
