Can you help me understand how bad this is for Santa Rosa Beach? We leave next week and had no idea. I’m worried it might be miserable for us now.

Terrible design with the split level stairs immediately upon opening the front door. Everything else is nice, but that would be an immediate NO for me and the wife.

Hurians are a issue here in fl ,but the real problem in florida right now are home insurance, business insurance, auto insurance costs,housing prices,it expensive to live here now and with all the people moving here we r over populated with no roads pr highways to be able to keep up, its awful now, takes me over an hr to go 12 miles and i use to be able to do that same drive in about 15 min. With all the extra people moving here crime has gone up, investors have bought houses in normal nice areas and rented them out to trashy people ,ruining the peaceful nice areas. I dont live in the panhandle but its all of florida.

Some beautiful homes indeed, except for the spilt chocolate milk countertop designs. The finished concrete in the garages are a nice touch too. Thanks for the tour.

Our beaches should not be ruled over by out of town/state interests.

Wait till they need beach Re -nourishment. They will want public money to help.

I live in Santa Rosa Beach , I love all of the State Parks. Eden Gardens is a gem, Grayton Beach State Park is wonderful , you also have Topsail , Deerlake , and Camp Helen State Parks. In addition you have the massive Point Washington State Forrest area which is loaded with miles and miles of Hiking Trails. Plenty of things to do , fishing , hiking, and four wheeling to mention a few. A State Park Video would be nice.

Do you know how often families move into those beach front condos on front beach and Thomas Dr?

Dogs can’t walk on the beach in the panhandle, stupid Destin and Fort Walton Rules from their county. Dogs are free on the west coast of Florida in Lee County. You can walk your dog and play in the gulf water by Fort Myers Beach. I like places that don’t hate dogs.

A publix is being built and the Marina at the bay is being started. Private HOA access to the bay. Gonna be awesome

If people would just put away their cameras and stop posting on social media are beautiful hidden gems wouldn’t be so out there and people would stay away. The problem is everybody has to share everything and they don’t recognize that their posts are located. stop posting pictures of your vacations on social media. Put the camera away and enjoy the moment and stop bringing people to this area. Our springs have been decimated by people from out of state. Look what happened to Ginny Springs over Memorial Day. Two shootings! Florida was so nice but now there are no more hidden gems….. so sad.

We moved from Indiana to the panhandle 3 years ago. We’re having so much fun exploring and learning about this beautiful state. We ended up on 25 acres further inland, only an hour from the beaches.

To be honest.. a few of the local drivers I have found to be the most aggressive and angry at and other vehicle from our of county or especially more so out of state. I have also seen local drivers create their own exits off 10 ..seriously

Is it safe to live there with children?

That’s why I won’t be going back. I’ll stick a better paradise with the beaches in Hawaii!

At the 13 min mark you mentioned a list of condos you recommend and a list of condos you don’t. My wife and I are discussing very seriously to thought of moving into a condo particularly in the Perdido Key area, and would appreciate seeing this list.

The Spanish Coastal Law in contrast is environmentally responsible and civic-minded (what our country used to be before the wealthy decided everything was theirs). Spanish Coastal Law: Public domain comprises the tidal zone of the beach, the beach itself and, if present, the dunes behind it. This area belongs to the state, and other than in specific cases it cannot be owned privately.

Having moved here from Cali, our cost of living has gone down quite a bit. Except for homeowners insurance (mainly because we were under Prop 13) everything else is lower plus no state tax.

It's beautiful here but it's damn sure expensive.

Reason 13: Alabama people claiming the Emrald coast as Southern Alabama.

Is there anyone who is talking about the harsh reality of pretty much all of Bay County and how it's just about impossible to survive here. It's no longer a meritocracy that's for sure! I can't even live with my parents without having their property taxes go up and they're 80 and 90 years of age, thanks city counsel!

Been Pensacola area for 11 years from Uk - im always looking to move to a more interesting state like Tennessee, but omg the beaches here are stunning and certainly a sticking point. Everything else sucks esp the shopping, landscape, bad drivers, ugly boring homes, etc i got lucky by living creekside but the neighbor kids are wild around here 😅

Why are you weirded out about picking your trash company.?? You know that’s pretty common. In many places. Colorado, Arkansas Texas California. This is not unusual. Just depends on the county or city… if the city or country is paying for the waste management or not??? This is such a weird don’t move here.issue ???

I’ve vacationed in PCB multiple times. If I were to relocate there it would be on the beach. The “short drive to the beach” would be a deal breaker for me personally.

The problem is tax assessment and HOA FEES AND A list of other fees. No one should buy in Florida. Not worth it.

My husband and I started vacationing in Destin in 1998 but have stopped mostly because of the traffic. Way back when it wasn't as bad. This year we r trying a new place out. Hopefully it will be nice as we r staying a month. That's another reason, the prices have gone way too expensive esp since Covid.

I love renting in the neighborhoods just off the beach here because the beaches are never very crowded or loud. For the first time ever, I’m renting a place at PCB. I dealt with beach bouncers last Summer and it’s not something I care to deal with again, especially not on vacation. I’m really sorry for all the non beachfront homeowners and businesses affected by this greed. It’s very unfortunate but as a consumer, I vote with my wallet. I’ll gladly be back when/if the county opens the beaches back up. Until then, I’m not going to be made to feel like a second class citizen after I’ve spent thousands on vacation.

Its definitely sad that so many people are trying to privatize all these beaches.

ALL locals sharing the limited beach access areas is horrible! I grew up there and could go to any beach at any time. This is greed at its finest. No one should own the beach!

What if E l o n e musk like person bought a majority of beach and demand comen sense sharing is caring, get along
