United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 8 มิ.ย. 2011
Hello! We are on hold for making more videos as we need to go work in the States for a few months. We look forward to getting back to our boat in a couple months and sailing on to new places! Until then....
In August of 2020, we sold everything and moved from Phoenix, AZ to the East Coast. Seven months later we purchased Rum Tot, a 42 Ft Pearson. The previous owners loved her for 29 years and we hope to do the same. We are completely in love with our boat and the liveaboard lifestyle. Rum Tot is our home, our car, our travel companion, and our life. SUBSCRIBE to our channel to follow our adventures!

Short Hop Passages to AVOID Cape Hatteras in Winter
Hope you both get back to 100% soon. It will take time. All the best
Obviously not fun, but it sounds like you guys got off relatively light.
Did you follow a special diet after the symptoms? Are you back eating fish?
We probably should have, but not really. It's recommended to stay away from chocolate, coffee, and alcohol. In other words, nearly impossible for us 😂. We were both sick for about a month and luckily have not seen a return in symptoms since. And we still love to eat fish.
Thks 4 sharing i enjoyed to the end
Fabulous, thanks :)
Why would you block the aluminiums access to oxygen?
Eat small fish not the big ones
Haha, yes! :)
Hey Amy & Chris - are you still out there? ~Captn' Ron
We are! We had to come back to the States and work for a bit. Damn that real life stuff! Heading back to our boat at the end of October and getting back to videos then, and more importantly, spending another few years exploring and enjoying our boat :)
Good to hear from You! Have been watching many of your videos lately - (we are way behind in your travel fun). Built our 50ft ketch over 21 years and have spent many winters in Exumas. Also have sailed in Caribbean a few times on other boats. I installed solar and wind-chargers a few years back and it was best investment ever on the boat. We are presently "on the hard" in NB Canada prepping for another voyage (not sure where yet) and am currently looking at buying and installing a water-maker and looking for info-especially from cruisers with experience on this subject. We may take a sneak-flight to DR this winter from wherever. Take care and keep the Cruzan in a safe place! @@AmyandChrisSailingRumTot
Wow, how cool! What an experience to build your own boat. Amazing. We definitely want to get a wind generator, it's on "the list" with about 50 other things we want to do, haha. Let us know if you get to Luperon during your trip, we will have to meet up!
Will do! I built the whole boat - hull, topsides, installed the alum masts, laid the teak deck, installed the Perkins 4-108, installed and wired all electronics, did it all and learned a bunch doing it. I bought the AirX 400 wind charger and installed it in 2001(its never had a problem xcept one broken carbon fibre blade when a bird struck it in a gale crossing from FL to Bimini). Bought a new blade off Cruisers Net at Georgetown for $15 ! Installed 2 big Kyocera solar panels on a 2-way tilting platform made of alum angle(can see any angle in 60 deg of horizon). Problem is I never start engine to charge batteries so I have to remind myself to start it to prevent rust. Boat has been in salt water since 1996 (26,000 miles so far) and engine has only 2,400 hrs. Still have original RayMarine GPS/Loran in wheelhouse and a Garmin 527x in cockpit Maybe we can install your solars? or an AirX ? Captn' Ron@@AmyandChrisSailingRumTot
Great videos guys! Thanks for sharing - we visit Exuma twice a year, rent a power boat for the week - one of the best places on earth! Be safe - sail on.
Cool, thanks! I can't tell you how many different dishes we made with freshly caught Conch. Hope you have a great next trip to such a beautiful place! We look forward to going back in another year or so, after a bit more Carribbean exploring. Cheers!
Hey saw you help Huub out and decided to check out your channel. Looking forward to watching all your videos
Thanks so much!! We are back in the States for a couple months but will be back to the boat and videos soon! Appreciate it :)
is there duty free alcohol u can buy at the airport
Sure is!
can u rent beach umbrellas and chairs at chat n chill
I'm not sure, honestly. I've never tried to do that. There is a great Facebook group for the Georgetown visitors, if you want to try to ask there. I can say they have a ton of seating all around already. Have a great visit!
Love this episode - refreshing content!
Hey! Yeah we had a great time getting to know these folks who are all now our very good friends. A fun editing challenge on this one too. Cheers 👍🍺
Thanks, looking forward to my visit there. 👍✌️
Luperon is the best!!
Man the lobster looks delicious 😊glad you finally got propane
Yeah that walk for the propane was not that much fun, but mission accomplished!
I just learned about this now so I’ll learn to be careful with those predatory fish in that area.
Yeah it was a big lesson learned for sure.
Hope to see you two soon on the boat 🤗🤗
I hope so too!
Where are you now?
We are in Luperon, DR and will be here through the next hurricane season.
Oh that’s great love your videos please make some for us 🙏🙏😍

I hope you guys keep making videos for us,I really love watching all your adventures.Sorry more viewers haven’t discovered Rum Tot because they are missing out on some good episodes with you !!!!Hope when I get my sailboat done I will met up you y’all out in some remote islands or anchorage.Happy you two are enjoying your life and doing what you want to😊
First of all, thank you so much for your incredibly kind comment on this video and the others you have posted. It's really, really appreciated. We will definitely continue making videos! We seem to be on a bit of a break mainly because we have been in Luperon for much longer than intended, for a few different reasons. We are both anxious to get back on the open ocean and really miss being under sail. We are continuing to do some boat projects and hoping (fingers crossed) that we can wrap some of that up soon. There is much more to come in our sailing adventures that's for sure. And that would be amazing to meet up in the future! We have crossed paths with a few viewers before and it's been awesome. Get that sailboat ready and get out here! Cheers :) 🍻
Glad you got the motor going😉the torch trick was great 👍hope you have a Honda generator to charge your batteries in a pinch.Always enjoy you two😊what was for dinner it looked delicious and bet the beer was great 🍺🍺
Love your videos 😍
Thank you for your kind words! :)
That is neat watching those waves crash over the rocks ,thanks for sharing 🙏
I really enjoyed listening to these cruiser couples tell their stories and experiences.I’m preparing a 47 footer for full time live aboard and going cruising has been my plan for a long time.Hopefully 2023 is my year.can’t wait to watch more good videos from you two👍👍
That's excellent! Once you get on board you will wish you had done it sooner. 47' is a great size to be comfortable in. Thanks so much for your comment and I'd love for you to send a message once you get moved into your new home. Best of luck!
Ahoy sailor!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!! 🎄

Thanks Norm! :) Likewise. We love your family
No videos for a while. Hope you folks are safe.
We are! Just taking a small break but should have a fresh one out in the next week or so :) Thanks for checking in!

Omg it was amazing, I want one right now :)
You guys look like your having fun! Thanks for the tour. R/ Jim
We sure are :) Georgetown was a ton of fun. Cheers and thanks!
Nicely done interviews. We're setting out soon to the Caribbean, after many years up and down the east coast. I'm especially excited to hear from Greg Brendt, as we also sail a Stamas 44. There's only about 23 of them. Can you help us get in contact with them? Thanks. Sailing Accidental Gybe on TH-cam.
Let me reach out and get back to you. Thanks! :)
Awesome! You guys are nailing it!
Thanks Mary Beth! You were so great :)
I have good looking feet. Hummmm Only fans. Could be a nice 2nd income
I'm sure there is a fan base for that :)
Great video again you two. What i have to give credit for is that you are including other people in your stories. Most sailing vlogers out there act like there are the only once out on the water. All the best and maybe see you next week in Luperon. If you have a last minute wish, let me know and might bring it for you
Thanks so much! It was a nice break to see some other faces for sure. Safe travels to Luperon!
Just plain ole fabulous!!!! Yeehaw!
Yeah!! :) ❤️❤️
Editing was awesome Amy. Cheers you two!
Thanks, Dana! Cheers🍻😘
Great interview style 😊 and great content!
Thanks so much! :)

Thanks Vanessa! You're on the path :)
What a great video. Big thanks for your time and effort . All the best and see you soon in Luperon
Thanks! These guys made it easy. Aren't they great :)
Great job! Your subject couples are awesome! 🤣 And, wow, that’s a lot of editing. We loved how you juxtaposed the questions! Very entertaining.
Thanks, Mary Beth! Appreciate you guys participating :)
