Wow! What a horror story with happy ending. We all have them. We crossed the Caicos Bank in may and it was like a dream, especially anchoring in the middle for the night. All the best and again thank you for the time you put in this great production
Hey Chris! When you lose parts of the impeller blades, you have to find *all* of them. Sometimes it's easy but sometimes they make it into the heat exchanger and plug the finer tubes that exchange the heat from your closed system to the raw water system. My guess is that you will have problems again until you find all the pieces and remove them. That's why it's a good thing to change the impeller regularly, even if it looks OK. The fatigue in the fins is not always visible. Good luck!

That's exactly the advice we have been given. We have yet to find all the pieces but are working on it. Thank you so much for your input!
Welcome to the DR. We have enjoyed your company
Thank you, and likewise!
Take a chain hook on a 40 foot line (or just tie a line around the chain, run it back to a sheet winch. You just take in the chain that way.
We will definitely be doing something like that if this should happen again in the future. Learning experience for sure :) Thanks for your comment.
