This is so cool, I would have liked to see some sort of aquatic creature hanging off the side of the coral as a handle, like an octopus or something 🔥🔥
Does it tell you when to replace things? Is the maintenance easy for someone with no experience?
You could always hold on to your work that you especially like and fire it down the road. I really loved your mushroom design, i might try making something similar I just don't want it to be too bulky so if you have any advice for that I'd appreciate it. I wish you luck on getting your own place and kiln soon, subbed so i can follow your journey as a potter. :)
i never know why ppl apologize for the sounds of the world letting its presence be known haha awesome video, love the studio ambiance and your easy instructions!
I have a very similar kiln, it just has one extra switch. I turned the bottom two on first and then turn the rest on in 2/2.5 hour increments in between each. It was a slow heat up basically. The Christmas ornaments I made came out really pretty and all the glazes look as they should, but my witness cones barely bent at all. I’m not really sure why. But my idea was to maybe do another test run with a manual hold when I can see it’s about to shut off. hoping that will give it a little more time to bend
when glazing, how do you make sure the holes dont get sealed up?
nevermind just saw your other comment, thanks!!!
I just bought a new to me kiln that may be this exact one. About to do my first glaze fire today, thank you so much for your video. The guy at the pottery shop said you can move the cone for the kiln sitter to get a ‘hot’ cone 6, I wonder if that will help those drippy glazes instead of having to be there when it switches off to do the hold. I’m new to running my own kiln, so maybe there is a big difference between a hold and ‘hot’ cone 6 🤷🏻♀️
I’m also wondering!
How does the oxide stand up to rigorous washing in a dishwasher? Does it fade after a few months as there is nothing protecting it?
Super pretty. I work in court so I can only envy this whole thing ❤
Love it! ❤
love you for this! Literally so helpful. Thank you.
so fun thank you!! ^_^
What do u paint with and does it not wash out?
One out of three is funny! Maybe try next ones straight. Love your vids, Im def gonna try a bong. Wish we knew why that exploded. Wish we could have seen it happen😂
I just got almost the exact same kiln, but its a 5320. Do you think it’s a pretty similar process?
We miss you. I'm happy to see you. 😊
This video makes me feel more confident about starting at home!
Awww sorry your kiln is not working 😢😢
YoU CanT SEE ShIT!!!!! Hahahahahaha real
I had fun.
happy to have you back!!! 🎉❤
So glad to see you back!
Just wondering why you did the carb hole, the glass bongs i use don't usually have them. But pipes do. Does it make a major difference?
I can’t slide out the bowl like on a glass bong to clear it. So I added a carb hole so I can clear the smoke from the bong. Hope that makes sense
Got it, that makes perfect sense. I'm in the process of making my own! Thanks for the information ☺️
You should do a globe bong. Maybe earth or a different planet
That would be dope!
Respect am from Ethiopia
That really sucks to hear. I hope it's not for long.
Yeeeaaah it's a bummer. Hopefully not too long!
more pipes please
how many lb of clay are you using :)
Congratulations on a year - and thank you for sharing ❤️
Hi Ijust found you channel. I love my artists wheel. Got it used. I contacted speedball to see about warranty. It was out but they retested it in my name and sent me several buckets at no charge. Mine came with the foot pedal. I bought the leg set for it. Love that it’s a good throwing height.
The plan of using it as a mug shouldn’t be defeated! The surface is pretty but more appropriate for a vase perhaps..
Don't give up! 🙏
I definitely won't! Going to get my own studio in due time :)
Make your pipes and ask your closed clay suppliers to 🔥 for u!
Glazing Stoneware Pipes internally is a must!
do you have to glaze it like will i pass away if i don’t…
@@myboijonsery if you don’t glaze the inside then you can’t properly clean the inside of the pipe. Leading to bacteria or mold growth in the inside of the pipe which isn’t great to inhale
If the unglazed clay is vitrified, then mold and bacteria should be an issue, correct? Great video as well!
I love this!!
Hola, que pintura usaste para el tronco del arbol? Luce muy natural
"i don't track my firings 'cause that's not who i am as a person" amen, sister, you and me, both lol
wait, what? why are you not allowed to fire? btw, i just found you and subbed!
Thanks for the sub!! Kind of have a jerk uncle who has decided I'm no longer allowed to fire my kiln here. I'll be moving soon enough and hopefully get back to it.
@@lowco_ceramics crossing my fingers you find a great new space asap!
@@zia_kat thank you!!
Never give up. Never surrender.
You know what I love about pottery? It sells. I had my heart broken so many times trying to sell paintings and lost my shirt on a show that was far away from home 😮
I was so glad when thet petal stuck back on! Nice work, and thanks for sharing 🙂
Bowl hole is now in my vocab😂🎉
Cool 😎 bro!
I have the same wheel and for $5 and a drill you can add pins
Very cool
why did you need a carved hole in the head ?
make him a backpack to put the za in
i’m sorry for this bump in your road. i’ve really enjoyed following along on your journey of becoming a full time potter and i think your work is so unique. i hope you’ll be able to find a solution and continue pursuing your dreams ✌🏻🍄
Thank you so much! Working on moving out. Once that happens I’ll be able to have a kiln again.
Why are you smashing it, don't. 😢
Do you glaze the inside of your watering pots?
..... great video, thanks for sharing! .... are you applying before or after firing to bisque?
After bisque
So awesome I agree!
