The ULTIMATE OBSCURE HANNA BARBERA Tierlist 🐶
For this Vid, I've Picked 13+ pieces of Old, Weird and or Obscure Hanna Barbera Media and Ranked them in Semi-chronological order.
Madness ensued.
This video to a lot of effort to make so why not reward it by Liking, Subscribing and leaving a Comment! More Videos coming soon!
I cut a lot of content and jokes from this video, because this boy's sheer length gave me problems already so if you'd kindly excuse some of the editing mistakes and want to see a follow up I'd be more than happy to provide.
My next video will be a reading/dub of the Banana Splits/S-Squad comic just because that seems like something light and fun.
Big thanks to @RobTheWonderful for reviewing the Drak Pack years ago and unwittingly inspiring me to make this video.

This is an awful take but someone who clearly doesn’t like musicals. I think Hello Dolly is one of the better movie musicals of its time. Most of your criticisms aren’t about the movie, but about the show itself. I actually prefer to film over the stage musical by miles. It’s just better.

Only thing that isn’t great is the creepiness of Harold Hill in the original film. Guy literally stalks the teacher to her home. Gives off rapey vibes for sure. Otherwise all the musical stuff is so good.

Harold Hill mentions to Mrs O'Reilly that O'Clark(Clark was a trumpet teacher world known) and O'Mendez recommend the trumpet. Rafael Mendez was the greatest trumpet player worldwide. Rafael started playing trumpet at five years old in his father's band. They lived in Mexico and that was their source of income. Pancho Villa kidnapped the family because he wanted entertainment and when he released them, Rafael stayed with Pancho for a year. Robert said that his favorite role that never made it to Broadway was Pancho Villa. Robert always did research for his roles. I wonder if he ever made that connection.

This movie should have been a cautionary tale and they missed the entire point because in the 1960s they had to have a happy ending... There's no "happy ending" with trump.

At no detriment to the film as a whole, my favorite thing in it is the dance number “the Shipoopi”…it may have been the 11 o’ clock number in the Broadway show- a rouser meant to signal immanent plot tie-ups-but in the film it’s a choreographed, lightning- paced wonder.

Those that ONLY wanted to see Carol Channing in the movie role all hate this movie. Truth is, Carol was no great shakes as a singer. That's where Streisand has it all over ANYONE ! CAROL beat Streisand FOR THE TONY when Streisand was nominated for "Funny Girl." When it came to do the film, they got STREISAND and not Carol. So the next complaint was that Streisand WAS TOO YOUNG to play Dolly. WRONG ! SHE was great, and the film was the LAST REAL HOLLYWOOD MUSICAL MADE.

The movie is a masterpiece. The sets, the costumes, the music , the production. It all could end badly if the star cannot live up to the hype. But in this instance Barbra’s talent eclipse it all. She was magnificent

    • @mnomadvfx
      @mnomadvfx 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

I dunno about eclipsing all - she's good so you expect her to be good. Likewise with Walter Matthau. Michael Crawford and the woman who plays Irene on the other hand sells it so well that WALL-E doesn't even use Barbara's voice in the clips of the movie - until I looked up the film I didn't even realise she was in it.

The movie "Hello, Dolly!" is a guilty pleasure for me. Streisand as Dolly Levi was entirely miscast and the direction to "jazz" up the songs undercut it. Thankfully, there's a few pirated videos of stage productions that present the musical as it should. Still, I do return to this movie from time to time to enjoy the turn of the century vibe.

There will never be a live-action Bravestarr movie. Very unlikely. Sadly. The majority of the 🇺🇸 *#antiwoke** KuKl°x mobsters and the ruling* 🧻 *male executives* would try their hardest to find _any_ "method" to make sure *Bravestarr (or Blackstar or Cadillacs & Dinos or **#BureauofAlienDetectors**, etc) WILL NEVER get* any big budget blockbuster movie adaptations. That has always been their policy of *#culturalerasure**.* No ONE is allowed to topple the "🧻supremacy". NO ONE. EVER. 😐 PS. The fact that this great video has such a dismal number of views is _part_ of that "subtle erasure" policy. If POCs notice this, speak out and fight back the *corporate oppression, the violent-macho anti-woke mob-gangboys* will happily "utilize" their beloved collection of guns and weapons. That's a definite possibility. Our reality. 👁️_👁️

Why don't you just say that you hate musicals, you hate Barbra Streisand and you hate the 1960s? The film had its problems, one of which was an overly large budget. That's why it didn't clear much profit, despite the fact that it made plenty at the box office. And what a stupidly edited video. Juvenile criticism and mini clips of a dozen totally unrelated films inserted just for the snark factor. I would have to rate your review a big fat ZERO.

I love the show, if there was anything that buried it, it was how badly it was pushed. You would think they would had started with the movie, put out the toys and have the show fallow that and keep it all in a couple of months. Rather then that they put out the toys a year before the show was ready.. and was canceled before the show got out. As for the movie, the one that set up the show, came a year after the show was cancelled. The toys being a flop without the show didn't help when it went to market for broadcast, so got picked up on the cheep and usually tossed into the worst time slots. The show being good or bad didn't matter, it was going to have problems no mater.

You're way off base. This a classic Hollywood musical with a great central performance. Gene Kelly directed it as if it were a late forties MGM movie, only with Streisand in the lead rather than Judy Garland. Yes, Barbra was younger than the character she played, but it's a small price to pay for the humor, glamor, magnetism and soaring vocals she contributed to the picture. And in addition, because the movie takes place in a candy-box Hollywood reality, it isn't nearly as dated as the "hip" films (Easy Rider, Medium Cool, etc.) that it was compared to upon release.

There are no good movies or bad movies. There are movies some people like and others don´t . I love movie musicals, especially the old MGM , Warner and RKO´s. Hello Dolly is somewhat out of this league. When I first watched it 45 years ago I loved it and I recently bought the DVD and re-watched it and I still think it´s a brilliant movie. Kelly didn´t want to do it so big and would have preferred it much smaller but the studio wanted it really big and that´s what it is and that´s what made it so difficulit at first to make big profits. The producer,Ernest Lehmann, who also was involved in other great movies, as a screenwriter he wrote North by Northwest and Kelly did a great job setting up this. I love this movie and I do not think there are good or bad movie but only movies that appeal to the one or the other audience, there are people who think Ed Wood is a bad director. The first Ed Wood movie I watched was Glen or Glenda and I think he is brillant. When I first watched probabaly at 15 years of age the John Wayne Movie The Searchers I stopped half the way thinking I really don´t like this one, inspite of liking most of Waynes movies, especially The John Ford and Howard Hawks ones. 40 years later I bought The Searchers dvd, rewatched it and now I think it´s a wonderful movie, having watched it several times I still discover ne things in it. When I was a child I loved "I dream of Jeannie" and "Mork and Mindy". Re-watching it as an adult I still think "Jeannie" is terrfic but I am not able to watch "Mork and Mindy", it´s soooooooooooo silly. So you even can change your mind about movies. Maybe one day you´ll re-watch Dolly and realize there are much more good things in it and you just didn´t notice.
