Great seeing what you got whilst out and about. I had one of these littel GX85 (USA version) bodies imported to the UK for the unlimited 4k recording for odd job recording at weddings. Such a lovely camera, has become the family time snapper 🤓👍

Just as always this has been a fun video with really cool shots. Especially liked the ones of the graffiti wall and the train station towards the end. As I do also shoot film and digital I really like both types of content :)

Odd to think you have 36? chances at a great photo on 35mm film compared to digitals endless numbers . "Film's results seem to be warmer. I appreciate both , just sometimes film's results are better, more human.

Question? Can you please share the exact settings and preferences you used to get these beautiful shots. I can only see Aperture mode on the video.

6x6 on 120 is one of my favorite film sizes, the detail and clarity go hand in hand for some really beautiful images

Nicely put together assessment and demonstration of capabilities. I appreciate that you weren't trying to overhype a particular camera, as many pop camera channels have been doing lately.

My first digital camera was 3.2 mega pixel Olympus. Man, I do miss it.

Sweet bundle of cameras, had no idea cameras like that S45 could shoot RAW. I want to find one now...

We mostly use our phones but on trips I take our 2006 Sony DSC 93 camera. It takes the best low light , total darkness pictures of any digicam we've had.

The whole digicam / CCD craze is mostly driven by trend/hype jumping social media content creators. I am old enough (early 40s) to have lived in the film era, the early digital camera era, and obviously today's digital camera market. 90% of the people I know who are buying into the "digicam" craze seem to be under 35, and take the cameras out once or twice - then they sit on a shelf. Same thing has happened with walkmans, vinyl records, vintage computers, etc. What is old, is new again. Nothing wrong with this - it just is the same recipe for so much of the old/nostalgic technology. Soon as the majority of people who are new to the hobby experience the limitations, they usually abandon it or hop on the next emerging thing. I just feel sorry for the people overpaying for this stuff, only to have it gather dust on a shelf. A local antique mall has a booth someone is renting and is full of old digicams and the prices are hilarious. For the same price they are asking for a 4 or 5 megapixel beat up digicam I can buy something like a old (2009ish) great shape Lumix GF1 (I have two...) that produces fantastic JPEGs, is pocketable with the fantastic 14mm pancake lens, is modern enough to be fun to use, and interchangeable lenses. You still get the "feel" of a old digital camera - but with usable pictures and flexibility. I was at a local park shooting with my 2004ish Konica Minolta 7D digital SLR. It has a CCD sensor, but I don't use it because of that. I have owned it since new, and have a collection of A-Mount lenses for it. It still takes beautiful pics and I shoot it along side my Minolta Alpha-7 35mm film camera that uses the same lenses. Since both cameras are nearly identical it is a fun pair. I had a lady come up asking if the ol' KM7D had a CCD . She started oodling on about how "film like" the pics must be. I then showed her the A7 film camera. I then explained I am shooting both cause despite what people say - CCD isn't "film like." We had a pleasant long chat about cameras - and she was unaware of the ease of home film development these days. Long story short - I think she realized if you truly want "film like" images - just buy a film camera. It is easy these days. Why spend hundreds of dollars on a 20+ year old digital camera to get an approximation of film when you can spend the same money on a manual, old and reliable film camera from a good vendor (like KEH) + cinestill home developing kit + a bunch of film.

how many shots can you take with this film roll?

I have prayed that God would let me see the aurora borealis with my own eyes - it was suppose to be visible as far south as Alabama - but have yet to see it in Texas - thanks for sharing!!!

Great video despite the gopro issues! 😊 I find it incredible a piece of tech designed in the 1960s continues to function flawlessly but something much more modern fails...😮 I've just picked up one of these cameras locally after a long search for one, so your video was very helpful and inspirational. I've added your channel, hopefully you'll connect with another retro film photographer 📸 😊

My son and I camp year round and at least once a month often twice. We are going to Rondeau on my bday weekend coming up near end of May. People can make or break camps. I try to stay away as much as possible from busy areas but it can be difficult. Feel bad for you about loud music and noise and drones. Hopefully next time it will be better for you! My son and I are also camping TH-camrs and film all our adventures, cheers!
