I stopped playing EQ back in the day when the Planes of Power came out. As a shaman, it was hard to get into groups or I just didn't have the right connections or reputation. But, when I hear everyone talking about EQ in expansions I've never touched or "chronos" I'm glad because I know it's like being a fresh player again. So many raids I didn't do and things I didn't see. I'm still trying to figure out which server to start up on...TLP this...and weird loot rules that...wtf the happened to the game. hahahah

Thank you for explaining all of this, appreciate it. But how do you get joy-to-key to work across 4 computers? I understand Joy-to-key and the autofire options, just not how to get it across 4 computers.

quickest and easiest answer is actually enchanter.

Joining a guild without knowing anybody is kinda like playing OG EQ, you gotta build a rep and make a name for yourself. Be humble, help others with kills or if they have questions in guildchat and know how to play, within 2-3 weeks people will know who you are and you'll get group invites without even being lfg.

Epic quests, as a function of time required to create vs. player engagement has a poor ROI for game dev time especially when you have a smaller team and are on a tight 6 month release schedule like EQ was back in the day for a while. Add in the customer support issues that they caused... it's a no-brainer on why they were not continued.

Random thought about the Epic weapons. What if you got a item boost for having the Epic in your inventory. Or vice versa, the Epic gets a boost for having a best in slot item currently in your inventory. I also have been a fan of the idea of an epic helm.

Going to make my guess before watching video after having seen some differences in ease of play and desireable classses between the last few TLP. Id say enchanters currently abundant but still desired even if a group has one. They tend to take 2. Wizards are desired by more people this go around. They speed up leveling in this era and mana noticeably less of an issue. Rangers seem much more common and honestly are superior option on Teek thanks to ease of getting gear that allows them to tank,dps, spot heal, and make use of high aggro rangers can generate. Also harmony works indoors on all things. Bind sight can allow you to use NPCs to see around corners. Do with that knowledge what you will. Just did a group with 3 rangers. It was faster than avg exping and all could tank Luclin content. So yay for rangers on Teek. Clr and sham seem lacking and both can add damage at low levels thanks to common access to geared tanks. Bards suck but people dont know it. So at the very leasr make 3 or 4 and go afk on them to fit in. Imo if a player started today wanting to hit max level fast, do not do a rogue or warrior ( reasons why old school they got exp boost even tho they are still both good dps) and maybe not dru. Dru would need to dps and buy gear to be attractive. YET you can get a group on all just fine! But more so do not attempt mage or necro to solo exp. Open world and single character soloing is honestly hot garbage for leveling.

Why do you prefer multiplicity over something like input director?

Any game you can play 3-6 accounts at one time is an issue I love Eq but not like this the last tlp was it for me good luck with a bot driven game where everything’s camped by a couple people

So, a guild called “burning” something had 46 level 60s just sitting at the zone in from dead lands in firiona. Doubt a whole guild just zones and stops moving and everyone on top of the same spot. What was most crazy is seeing them all disappear at the same time. Either zoning or camped out but all 46 of them at the same moment. All of them anonymous and all of them invis.

I've been agonizing over a new PC to use for general purpose (web, etc.) as well as multiboxing EQ, 3-6 accounts, and I keep coming back to something like the Beelink SER8 with at least 32GB of RAM. Gemini AI seems to consistently underrate it compared to super old Xeon tech with ultra crappy video cards (which I suspect is due to an inclination to rate dedicated over integrated, regardless of generation). Do you have any knowledge regarding this type of Mini PC (by processor/iGPU), or know anyone who does that I can ask about it before committing?

Consider that automating non-attendant game play (botting) is about to explode across all gaming plateforms due to advances in AI. There are technical papers out about running experiments using virtual game worlds to train AI models. As these models mature into multi-modal AGI's with agency, anyone will be able to play unattended using their AI Agent. The Agent plays just as a human would, by viewing and interpreting video, listening to audio, manipulating mouse and keyboard electronically, responding to tells, learning at every step while working (probably with other AI Agents) to accomplish it's mission, and knowing how to act human by making random, intentional goofs, etc. You simply will not be able to tell that the Agents aren't human. This is almost on us like a tsunami. What then?

There are a decent amount of bots. It’s quite easy to see when all of the characters move to the rear to melee in a very mechanical manner and all at the same time.

I’ve never had encounters on previous servers but had a few so far on Teek. I 6-box legitimately, it’s easy as you know, and stay out of people’s way and do my own thing. Had one of these clowns last week try to take my camp, I left to a better one to just not make a scene, pulled back to their spot on the next spawn cycle and the whole group was already dead. They couldn’t take my respawns I guess. Fun times.

So, if now you are using 9 accounts, are you paying $12-$15 a month for each account to play EQ? That's how much I spent to get a year's price for my one account, lol... Nice setup though. I've always wanted to use JoytoKey but struggled to get it working and my ADD kicked in and got sidetracked to something else, hah.... I've done botting when I did the Lazurus P99 alternative server as that was free and those macros there were not bad to set up.

Comment at 11:35: Rogue poisons become relevant during Seeds of Destruction. Their slow (Myrmidon’s Sloth) eventually will overwrite Forlorn Deeds, but not Turgur’s Insects. This makes soloing the class a lot easier.

People cant find groups on Teek? Lol, what? I ran around Gfay and Commons last night and the camps were all camped, and there were people everywhere. Qeynos was busy too, although it was not as much, but that's normal.

Hey Thomas, I have just started my first 6 box for the Teek server. I want to run a Bard but I have mever played one before. Have you thought about showing us your hotbuttons on a Bard?

I never understood multiboxing but if someone wants to have that trouble feel free to do it.

Have you considered USB synchronization device? This would allow you to broadcast keyboard and mouse and its not against the rules because its hardware device not third party software.

Looks like a functioning setup. Agree shaman and tank is mains, dps is set and dialed in. Too bad bard and enchanter not more scripted. I like it. So still easentially 6 boxing qith a couple clones going. How to you handle chain heals? Not sure if that was mentioned when you eventially add clerics. 7:33 7:33

Ok, lets get one thing straight here. Saying MQ isnt officially supported on TLP's is wrong. There is a long standing unofficial agreement of certain releases by certain teams, not to enable its use till later on in the TLP's life, however, there are versions of MQ that run just fine today. Every time you say this i just want to slap you because you dont know what you are talking about. Not only that, there are at least 4 other programs out there similar in nature to MQ, that run on top of the client. As long as the majority of EQ operates client side MQ will exist and be compatible.

I have had numerous guildies, and friends get suspended over the last month on Teek for using every program that you currently use. How are you making TH-cam videos about it and avoiding suspensions?
