SOLO TRAVEL VLOG | MACHU PICCHU INCA TRAIL HIKE 4D/3N
Hi guys! 26 miles later, I made it to one of the seven wonders of the world: MACHU PICCHU. Making it to all seven is a bucket list item...4 down, 3 to go. This is not my usual content or style of filming but wanted to share my fun solo travel adventure and hopefully encourage people who are afraid to travel alone to step out of their comfort zone and go see the world. I hope you enjoy it. Please don't forget to like, share & subscribe. As always, appreciate the continued support.
Tour Company I used: www.alpacaexpeditions.com/classic-inca-trail-trek-4d3n-group-service/
Tips for success - Packing list (must fit in day pack and no more than 7kg for issued duffel bag)
- Waterproof hiking shoes and flip flops/camp shoes (recommend crocs) for when you are done hiking for the day.
- Outer layers (1 rain jacket, 1 light weight down jacket, 1 light weight fleece, 1 rain pants)
- 2 pairs of hiking pants, 2 long sleeve shirts, 2 short sleeve shirts
- Bring thermal top and bottom and heavy-duty mountaineering socks to sleep x1
- Bring merino wool socks (full cushion) x 4, underwear x 6, sports bras x4
- Headlight, sunglasses, wide brim sun hat, neck scarf, cold weather hat
- Heavy duty insect repellent, 50-70 spf sunscreen
- Waterproof pouch for passport, cash and other valuables
- 25-28L day pack with water proof cover, 1.5-3L water bottle or water bladder
- Small trash bags x 4 (to store dirty clothes and sleeping bag)
- Waterproof gloves (a must)! I used hand warmers at night
- high quality rain poncho
- 4-6 packets of tissue paper, small hand sanitizer
- Small packet of baby wipes/body cleansing wipes
- Sleeping bag rated for -18 degrees c (you can also rent one from the company)
- Portable battery pack (recommend anker brand)
- Bring cash 400-500 soles for tips at the end of the journey. Trust me the team will earn it! Also bring coins because you have to pay 1 soles for bathrooms on the hike
- Snacks/energy bars, toiletries
- Ibuprofen, pain killers for muscle aches, anti-diarrheal, anti-nausea meds, Diamox as needed
Tips for success - Hiking
- Maintain a positive attitude always. No matter the conditions, your attitude makes so much of a difference.
- 4 day/3 night trail is tough. Mentally and physically prep to walk 26 miles mostly uphill, on uneven terrain. You will feel so accomplished once you are done! You got this.
- Enjoy every moment. The views are incredible and breathtaking.
- Bottom line up front is the best way to see Machu Picchu is through the Inca Trail.
Good Luck,
Angel

Please ma, I am a Nigerian. I have a desire to relocate to the United States and join the United States military. I know I would have a bright future and opportunities in the United States. Please ma, I need your assistance in relocating.
Hi ER RN here looking for a change then the bedside how hard is it to enlist full time ? Also is the asvab an requirment what do you reccomend to start studying ? Enjoy the video very informative 😄
Are their civilian flight nurses positions in the air-force?
Thank you so much for posting this! I've been trying to read about what the "day to day" work would be like, and found next to nothing via google.
What is the required asvab score to join or is it not needed. Am currently a medsurg nurse and will like to switch to icu
What countries have you lived and been stationed in? How is the salary? I assume if they ask you to pick up more shifts, you get OT/compensated for that? Sorry if you already answered these!
This my dream job 😍
Hi, are you eligible for the program if you’re already an Lpn?
I wonder if do they accept nicu nurses in air force?
I was just selected to be a nurse in the USAF. Thank you for this video, it helped me so much, my recruiter said the Lt Col was very impressed.
Congratulations 🥳
@@LindsayRose-q3z thank you!
Currently a civilian nurse and very intrigued and interested in this type of nursing, also currently an active duty spouse. How does that factor in? We have three kiddos also.
Thanks so much! I love the entire video. Really appreciated all the suggestions on how to save money. Also, thank you for keeping us in mind regarding beauty products and such.
I know this place in my dream 😅😅😅
Cheers to you for venturing outside of the United States. 75% of people never travel more than 500 miles from their hometown in their entire life.
I made a 2.8 in my asn program and a 4.0 in my bsn program. Do you think this makes me ineligible?
Hi Sis am from Nigeria snd your Igbo Brother ✊ this is my greatest dream am doing my Nursing program
Thank you for this video! 😊❤
Ok sweet! I just got to the part where you explain the living quarters as I plan on doing this solo as well. Looks like a challenge. But since I can appreciate journeys being as important if not more than the actual destination , it’s a challenge in up for! I see some older folks there. What was the youngest and oldest aged person in your group?
Hi! I’m in my research phase but your vids have been so helpful and inspiring..I’ve been an OR nurse for almost 10 yrs and I’m heavily considering this transition to AF nursing..and definitely interested in flight nursing
I am interested in Aeromedical Evacuation do I need a bachelors for this? Also I have heard that the reserves gets deployed more than AD for these missions.
Did u deploy for iraq
Love, love love. Thank you for sharing, Angel!!
Hello ma'am, I'm a Filipino nurse and a registered USRN, can I apply to the air force as I pilot? I'm 24 yrs old
Do flight nurses and orderlies have to go to the battlefield to help in the middle of fire? I want to enter AF, and being a nurse catches my attention, but I'm not very interested in being in the line of fire.
This was a excellent video🎉Very informative. Did you train prior to going?
Great video! I appreciate your transparency. I have been an ER nurse for 4 years traveled for 2 of those. I want to go back to school for CRNA and I am considering the Air force.
Thanks a lots. God bless you🎉😊
I heard there is an extra time commitment if you become a flight nurse? Also what did you get your master's in
On average how many hours a week are you working compared to being a bedside nurse? (both in airforce)
Psalm 91
i want to join , SO BAD
This is great! What year and month did you go?
Thank you! I went at the beginning of May! Good Luck!
Hello! So much info and I love it! Talking to a recruiter now but wanted to know what you do with your dog when you are gone so much! #singledogmom
Hey! That is great news. I would usually find someone to watch him, a friend or coworker. If I couldn’t find anyone I would pay for a rover. Good luck to you dear!
I am doing this soon. What month did you go in?
I went at the beginning of May! Good Luck!
Do you really need a degree to become a x ray tech in the airforce I’m asking for a friend who wants to join
Hello! Xray technicians are enlisted and don’t need a degree to join. They teach you everything you need to know after you join. Good luck to you!
Hi Angel I’m a senior in high school next fall I will be attending college and doing air force ROTC to become a flight nurse will this be a direct commission? Also I’m planning on doing pre med do you think that good major? What will you recommend I major in to become a nurse in the Air Force? Thanks!
Thank you! I have been debating about joining, but my main reason is not serving the country is mostly because i see it as an opportunity for growth. You just cleared some questions I had, I might join reserve as soon as im done with nursing school! Amazing video!
Just found your page. So happy for you ☺️☺️
Will the interview not be in blues?
This video was amazing I loved it thank you it really helped me ❤
Do flight nurses X4N0X1 have to go to flight school?
Hi! Im extremely jealous of you. Been wanting to be on the same path as you, but I dont think that'll be possible since im going reserve. Im an neurosurgery and cardiac ICU nurse for about 10 years. What will be the best job I can take as a reservist in your opinion?
@Jana-ho9ic thanks for your reply. I applied passed the exam but failed physical due to my sleep apnea. I was really hoping they would make a waiver, but they did notm
Hi Angel! Thank you for the video! are there physical requirements to being a Air Force nurse, such as the Air Force physical test with push ups, etc?
Hey! Of course! I hope you learned something. Yes you have to do a PT test every 6-12 months depending on your score. It consist of a 1.5 mile run, push ups and sit ups/waist measurement. There are also other options like the “Hammer” run, hand release push ups, planks. Watch this video for more information th-cam.com/video/43hauVScq0U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sIjKDKJseRjEUkOu Link with more details www.afpc.af.mil/Career-Management/Fitness-Program/
thank you so much!!@@AirForceNurseAngel
Bro they went HAM on the water lmao
Haha they did!
As a new grad nurse, would you suggest working civilian first in your preferred specialty to avoid doing 3-4 years in med-surg or every nurse coming in is required to work either OB or Med Surg? Because I want to work in the ER then apply for flight nursing as well
Hmm the issue is critical care in the Air Force is severely undermanned. If you come in as an ER or ICU nurse the likelihood of them releasing you to flight nursing is in my opinion low (just my 2cents, can’t say for sure). If you want to do ER, my suggestion is to do this on the civilian side for however long (1-3 years) then ask your recruiter to commission into flight nursing. Flight nurses are now undermanned so I think you are more likely to direct commission as a flight nurse now than before when it was extremely rare. Hope this helps. Angel
