It's sad that society puts gatekeepers at different junctures to prevent people from advancing. Some would think that being a pilot is a highly complicated skill but many of these infamous African dictators had Air Forces comprised of entirely indigenous people. Not to mention that most of them were trained by pilots who flew for the Royal Air Force during WWII.

When I was a kid of 6 years old my father who was a doctor went to Uganda from the USSR to work in a hospital in Mbale. My father took the family with him. Uganda seemed to me as a wonderful country, it was very colourful, warm and hospitable. We lived in Mbale in a street where Idi Amin’s local palace was located. I witnessed once the President was going to his palace, not exactly him but his limousine passing by our house. Our life for two years in Uganda was all right in general. We travelled a lot throughout the country and visited many interesting places, towns and national parks. We still have many local souvenirs brought from Uganda at that time.
