Not a derpy question at all! My honest answer is that I am not entirely sure. I have heard a few different versions in the lore. With this build I am following Neil Roberts artwork for ‘The End and The Death’ but putting a 40k spin on it. It’s not guaranteed that I will depict the webway in the end but we will see what happens 🙂🤘

He sits at the top of a huge pyramid so I don’t think it can get much taller 😂.

As I mentioned in the description this depiction was inspired more by John Blanches 3rd edition artwork and the Grimdark style of the era. The idea was to display the Emperor as merely a man, Underneath all the power and psychic ability. The Emperor disguised himself as a normal human for millennia because he is one. The image of a 10ft superhuman is the image he chooses to project to display his power and dominance. You are absolutely available to feel how you like about the piece 🙂 feedback is feedback and art is entirely subjective. Thank you for such a detailed comment and happy hobbying 🤘

@@imperiumnihilus It's a very good interpretation if you ask me! Besides, I've seen an interview of Blanche where he said maybe the real body of the Emperor is behind the walls in a tube or something and the corpse on the Throne is just a prop for pilgrims. The lore has been written by so many people over the decades that you can defend almost any take on it.

I definitely agree that there are lots of ways the Emperor can be interpreted and this is just my one (albeit heavily inspired by Blanche) it definitely doesn’t have to be cannon for everyone. This is just me having fun and creating my take on a wealth of 40k lore! Glad you dig it 🤘

@imperiumnihilus I totally understand. That piece of art is iconic. But if you're going for that look, shouldn't the Emperor have a visible rib cage and an augmetic on his one eye? Also, not trying to argue, but in the full image of Blanches's rendition of the Golden Throne there is a Space Marine helmet in front of the throne, and considering the Emperor is behind it, and his head looks to be about the same size as the helmet. This to me shows that even in that artwork, he is still represented as a very large man. Again, though, it is your project, and I'm just some random guy on the internet. I'm sorry if anything I have said came across as rude or demanding. I think you're doing an amazing job, and I'm extremely excited to see you continue with your second version of the throne and eventually finish it. Once again, I apologize for being relatively negative in my opinions/feedback, but I do think you're amazingly talented, and I hope my comments haven't upset you. I hope the rest of your year is a good one.

I did for the initial coat but once it starts coming to picking out certain areas and details I figured that the airbrush would be better so I have more control 🙂🤘

These are just the initial washes and I will be coming back in with some dry brushing and also pick out some further gold details. That will help the gold pop again 🙂🤘
