Took the vy out to a skid pan event ran by our local drift promotion. Having previously done some skid pan in my vs I was very excited to shake down the vy that has more power, more lock and is overall a better car to steer Ended up having a wicked fun day with basically no car dramas at all, I used up all 3 pairs of tyres I took along and had to borrow some more toward the end of the day!

Spent some time with the grinder and welder to make things sit in their permanent place, engine mounts and gearbox crossmember are fanned up along with some radiator mounting brackets. I’m at a point where I have to start doing a lot of small jobs in order to be able to finalise where big things go and then make it happen!

I this update I have fitted the engine ready to make mounts and figure out where things are going to fit, this was a mission and a half by myself but worth it in the end with everything fitting with minimal interference and the things that did interfere were easy to ‘adjust’

Finally got a chance to get the supra in the shed to get started on it properly, also I reveal the engine and gearbox combo I’ll be going with, it’s an unconventional choice but the price was right and it should be a good combo for what I’m doing with the car

After finding time on the weekend to get some work done I decided it was time to get it mobile. I managed to swap out the front subframes and get it rolling, ready to go into the shed when there’s space to start getting into the important parts! Once again I apologise for the wind noise, but hard to avoid where I live

Having a play on the vs at a recent skid pan/learn to drift day held by Drift League our local drift series. After a few set up changes the car handled well and went through 4 pairs of tyres for the day, driving it home at the end

Skid pan day in my 5 litre vs commodore. It was my first time driving on the skid pan and actually maintaining a slide. My driving improved markedly over the course of the day and apart from a small fuel surge issue the car was flawless
