It was a slow day at the office of the Chaotix Detective Agency when suddenly the phone started ringing and Ray was the first to answer. It was a distress call about an army of badniks taking over the the fields of Greenflower Zone. When Ray hung up, Vector asked what it was about and Ray hesitated and said, "It-it was just a telemarketer... something about...uhh... never...ending...pasta bowls...?" Vector then shrugged and went back to sleep in his chair while Ray rushed over and snuck into Sonic's place to "borrow" his super shoes and prove he can handle big missions by himself. He painted the shoes blue so no one would get suspicious. A bit after arriving at Greenflower Zone and soaring over a mountain, he found a speed shoe monitor and when he broke it, the combined speed of Sonic's shoes and a speed power up overwhelmed Ray as he clenched his teeth and his eyes opened wide as he said, "Whoooa! Where's that music coming from?! I.....I can see between the pixels!!! ........Is this what Sonic sees all the time?!?!" He then found Eggman getting ready to eventually deal with Sonic when instead he sees Ray standing there almost foaming at the mouth. Eggman laughed and asked, "What's a squirrel going to-...", but Ray was suddenly upon him like a rabid animal and he immediately fled wondering what was Ray's problem. Eventually Ray comes across Metal Sonic and quickly remembers their last encounter and wanted not only to get payback for that attack in the forest, but outclass him in every way. Ray leads Metal Sonic through laser filled corridors at incredible speeds and once they both reached the elevator room, Ray couldn't help but slap the back of Metal's head every time he missed an attack and headbutting him when he attempted to recharge. Defeated, Metal Sonic flies away reeking of burning circuitry while Ray stands there wondering if badniks could feel embarrassment and also... when the power up was going to wear off. When Ray found Eggman in his battle mech, Eggman made a quip about needing Mighty to save him from the "greatness" of his latest creation. Ray somehow still feeling the effects of the shoes and the power up, gets enraged and suddenly puffs out his chest and attacks like an angry gorilla and seems to power through the pain of Eggman's attacks. After thoroughly thrashing Eggman around in his own mech like a ball in a paint can, Ray takes an escape shuttle back down and makes it home. The strange speed power up eventually wore off and Ray passed out in bed. Not long after that Charmy burst in to say good morning only to be met with a flying pillow. Meanwhile in Metropolis Capital City... Sonic - "Honey?" Amy - "What?" Sonic - ""Where are my super shoes?" Amy - "Whaaat?" Sonic - "Where... are... MY... SUPER SHOES?!"
