    as a human the odds of making the nba are 1 in 200 million. if you are born as a male your odds are 1 in 100 million. if you are born as a male, and are 6-4 or over (which is less then a 1 percent chance) your odds are still 1 in 300000. you have the same odds to get struck by lighting in your lifetime.

    99% of people will never make the NBA. The NBA is one of the most physically demanding professional level sports. Along with the right build and genetics, the amount of athleticism, talent, and hard work is astronomical and insane. The worst NBA players in history who barely hang on the roster will run circles around the rest of the population with ease. This isn’t even accounting for how long you’ll stay in the NBA, it’s a business venture too. People are really better off pursuing other career’s or if they truly want it that bad go into less demanding leagues and organizations.

    Using Bayesian inference controlling for the probability of a potential player who meets the same averages of previously drafted players in financial support, educational support, family support, visibility to a general manager, and height requirements, making it into the NBA is approximately 0.3, or 30%. Because of his athleticism, his jumper will come like Rondo, Wiggins, Edwards, etc... He don't need to be a sharpshooter... He has some strong post finsihing moves that don't subject him to high risked injuries, & a developing floater...💯💯💯

      That was back in November last year, and since December, the Clippers have went on a tear. You’ve had over a month to reconsider/update your ‘idea’… but instead you uploaded this video last week, blatantly remaining ignorant to new data that disproves it. • @RanmyakuJouten
    @RanmyakuJouten 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think you're actually wrong on your main point as to why "Super teams" don't work. It's not because star players can't work together anymore but because teams no longer try to build super teams through Free agency or end-of-season trading and do it via trading mid-season. "Super teams" fail now because half of a roster needs to be gutted mid-season for a superstar player which destroys the chemistry and depth of any team. Whereas in Free agency or end-of-season trading you have more control of who you're going to let go in order to make space in the cap for the superstar player. The last 3 "Super Teams" that won the championship were all teams that made those "super teams" via free agency or off season trades. 2008 Boston, The Miami Heat with LeBron and 2017 and 2018 GSWs.

    • @tungence
      @tungence 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a really good point, I agree. I do believe however that some star players are better off not playing with eachother. In the mavs case for example, Kidd has resorted more to playing Luka and kyrie at seperate times rather than together.

  • @kingkanyon
    @kingkanyon 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Naw bro this is still the case. You comparing the Suns to a Superteam. That’s your problem. 3 All Star and a bunch of guys on the minimum isn’t a super team Bucks had 3 Allstars my guy and Brook Lopez that was literally a super team. When Toronto won they had 6former Allstars on their team and 3 former DPOY. Superteams always win when they have dept

    • @RanmyakuJouten
      @RanmyakuJouten 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Let's be real here. Toronto is not winning that year if both KD and Klay don't get injured. They have literally 0 shot. And as for Milwaukee, Brook Lopez was way past his prime. He's serviceable, even back then. He's a great piece but he sure as hell was not Brooklyn Nets Brook Lopez, the other two all-stars on that team are not looked upon as players that would create a super team. Super teams are created when you have more than 2 players that are universally agreed upon to be the number 1 guy on that team, can be the number 1 on another team if he left, or was the number 1 guy on their previous team. An easy example of this is the Miami Heat with LeBron, Dwade, and Bosh. Wade was the #1 in Miami, LeBron the #1 in Cleveland, and Bosh the #1 in Toronto. The same exact concept with the Celtics with Pierce, Allen, and KG.

    • @kingkanyon
      @kingkanyon 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jac6548 Houston was not better than Toronto, they were a bad defensive team that 5 out and shot chucked 3s. Toronto was the best defensive team and Siakam was one of the best players in the playoffs besides Kawhi leanord being the best. Add in Mark Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Danny Green, O.G Annanoby, Kyle Lowry, Norm Powell and Fred Vanfleet. That Roster was Amazing, hence why they traded for Kawhi because they knew what would happen. Besides that injury’s is part of basketball, if the Kawhi doesn’t get hurt Clippers hypothetically win a championship, if Lebron and AD don’t get hurt or if Kd doesn’t go to Gs, ain’t no such thing as what if, it either happened or it didn’t, because we don’t know what could’ve happened we only know what did.

    • @tungence
      @tungence 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I define super team differently it’s a subjective term. The suns are one to me considering both KD and Booker are not just all stars but superstars and Beal on top of that was a recent all star averaging over 30 ppg.

  • @AaronPlay
    @AaronPlay 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Are we ignoring the Celtics? They have 4 all-stars in the starting lineup and the best record in the NBA. Superteams are still good, just much harder to put together effectively.

    • @GenerationalDisappointment
      @GenerationalDisappointment 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One super team out of 4or 5 is only a 20-25% success rate, wouldn't say that means super teams are still good as that leaves a 75-80% failure rate.

    • @tungence
      @tungence 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure I would label the Celtics as a super team, they have some extremely good depth and players but when I think of a super team, I am thinking of multiple players that are or were just at superstar level before joining the team. Apart from Tatum I cannot consider any other player on the Celtics a superstar. Ofc the word “super team” is pretty subjective though, there’s no real definition. The reason I would consider the clippers to have a super team roster is because of the fact that 4 of the players on the team were playing at an MVP level just a few years ago. Now Westbrook and Harden have fallen off but the talent on paper is still their regardless. It’s just a crazy looking team is where I’m getting at. The 2021 nets were even more of a super team considering they had KD/Kyrie/Harden all in their primes. Overall though it’s a weird term and weird to define, I Wouldn’t over complicate it I would just say “The roster looks extremely good” on paper.

      I would disagree, I think strongman/weightlifting, and sprinting,, and swimming. Basketball cannot rely the most on genetics because by definition it isn't just testing your core abilities, like fast twitch muscle fibers for sprinting, or the big muscles for lifting, or lung capacity for say swimming, rather basketball also has a motor skills ball handling element, which requires a lot of trained skill. So in a sense thats why some people can outwork their genetics in basketball. However why I think it SEEMS to rely on genetics has more to do with the sheer VOLUME of basketball players and talent pool participating, where even if you are very skilled, there is simply too many "good genetics" guys also competing which statistically causes also many of them to be skilled, leaving less room to compensate for lack of genetics with mere training and effort. Combine that with the funding and training programs available everywhere in the country with great coaching and developed systems, and the very institution of basketball is already good at bringing out the best in all players, naturally giving the best gene guys an advantage.
