I have no idea what the referral program will look like in the future and my referral credits expire in about 8 months. I don’t like uncertainty, so I decided to go ahead and get it. Maybe I will regret my decision 😬

I expect that it probably does IF you use the additional acceleration enough. I still drive mine similar to how I always have, so I have not noticed any decreased range.

That is definitely an option people should consider. I do need to correct a couple of things in your comment. We owned a Model Y performance. I made a video about why we sold it and bought this Model Y LR. The performance suspension is not “better” than the LR. It depends on what you want from the suspension. It is sportier, yes. It is also less comfortable. It’s stiffness is a large reason for why we sold our Performance and got the LR - LR rides much better (as you would expect from a non-performance model). 0-60mph on the Model Y performance is 3.5 seconds (not 3.2). Still blazing fast. The Y LR with acceleration boost is a good middle ground of quick and comfortable. The Y performance is definitely in a different world from a performance level. Y LR vs Performance is something people should look at when evaluating which one they want to purchase. 👍 I do agree that I don’t think acceleration boost is worth the $2k for most people (as mentioned in the video).

@@mikesevgarage bigger wheel also plays the lesser comfort factor. if you swapped to 19 inch wheels, it would be in the middle ground.

I would have bought the Performance model, but the 21" hard riding wheels/tires that can't be rotated for better life...

I did that 😉. It made the ride on our Performance Y better, but still not even close to the ride on our current LR Model Y.

In the ICE age, that would cost $10K for a supercharger. $2K is a bargain.

That could be. For me, it was never only about Tesla, despite the previous channel name. I’m a car guy first. Most of my content will still be Tesla. I just believe that the new channel name is a better fit for some non-Tesla videos I have in mind 😊

No. I went with standard Xpel ultimate PPF. The ceramic option intrigued me, but I did not get it because we only did PPF on the front end. If I did PPF on the entire car, I probably would have gone with ceramic PPF.

Why? I was not holding the camera and am looking forward at the traffic the entire time (you cannot see that because of my reflective sunglasses). People talk with passengers in their car all the time and that’s accepted. How is this any different?

Are you sure that you have autopilot on? One press down on the stalk is traffic-aware cruise control (TACC). A double press down gets you auto-pilot. There is a new setting in the car menu that allows you to change it so that it is a single press down to turn on autopilot. If autopilot is on, you will always see that blue circle around the little steering wheel in the upper left.

@@mikesevgarage Is it because you have the enhanced Autopilot since I do not have that. I only have the basic standard autopilot that comes with the car. I am still very new here since I just got my 2024 Model Y

I do not have enhanced autopilot on our Model Y - only basic autopilot. That’s why I was surprised that it gave me the warning. Congrats on your new Model Y! How are you liking it?

Interesting 🤔. I have basic autopilot and had never seen this warning until a few months ago. I do like the safety aspect of it (eg, warning you that you are coming to a stop sign or light fast and the car will not stop for it by itself).

That's a tough decision. The 3 is definitely more sporty and fun to drive. It sounds like you already have a good utility vehicle with the 7-seater you own. The Y is a killer deal if you are in the U.S. and qualify for the federal tax refund. Financial considerations aside, if nobody in your family is really tall, I think the new Model 3 LR is the way to go if you want a sportier feel. If you do get the 3, I would love it if you would stop back here and share your thoughts.

that's a tough decisionl.. but i bought my MYLR two weeks ago and i love it. Considering you have a larger car, I'd probably just go with the M3... but the MY just has more room in general. Longer range. About the same price too... better speakers and sound system. The biggest factor for me was the sound system bc i listen to a lot of music..

If you pay for FSD in full up front, then there is no additional FSD subscription. Premium connectivity requires a subscription and you would still need to pay for that, if you want it. But no additional FSD subscription after you buy it for full price. FSD in the United States is currently $12,000.
