I had something similar happen in Fort Worth Texas on a BMW five series that I had a couple years ago. It cost almost $6000. I was able to claim it on my insurance and simply pay my $500 deductible. Hopefully you had similar success.
Ugh - sorry you had to deal with a similar issue. We did end up going through insurance for it so we were only out the deductible. 👍
