3D Photorealism in 10 Minutes - Blender Beginner tutorial
im at 0:36 and literally just tried for an hour to understand what you did and how bc you just rush it and press shortcuts without telling :c
This part is not crucial to get the same effect, But what i did is add a cube, scale up its base and delete the bottom face, add a loop cut in make it look the same way as i did in the video, otherwise don't focus too much on the geometry section, as most of the work is done in the shader editor. You can use half a sphere too.
re fast GI approximation, you forgot the most important aspect, which is if you bring the AO distance down, there is more GI in the shadows. works really well, but if you go too far, it just looks too bright overall ( obviously). works amazingly well on indoor scenes, eliminating most of the noise so yeah set the Fast GI to 'replace', 1 for the viewport and render bounces, then bring the distance down overall I agree with your settings, good stuff
Definitely true, fast gi approximation works okay in most cases, the key to take it to the next level is to make a regular full GI render and use it as a reference, take the renders from the approximated version and try to match the brightness curve.
@@AlternaVisionStudio maybe its a bit fake looking though, not sure. but it certianly works well for indoor scenes. why doesn't blender have proper GI I wonder? like vray
@@mikerusby vray is out for blender, will be the next videos topic : D Cycle is fine though, can get great results but for me corona and vray are way ahead.
@@AlternaVisionStudio sounds good, i wil defintitely be looking at those. Vray is pretty sweet, gives a nice illustrative look Might take me another 4 years to learn :)
You make it look so easy man, great work. About the quixel library assets, how do you have them inside blender like that ? The quixel bridge plugin doesn't even work correctly now, did you just manually import them and turn them into blender assets manually ? Or with an add-on like true assets maybe ? Or is there something i don't know about. Thanks in advance, man.
Hello Moncef, appreciate it. At the time of the video, quixel bridge was the way to import them, recently i have tried using it, works with 3Ds max well but in the case of blender it does not, i will need to look behind it though as i am sure there will be a fix. In the meantime i am importing as an fbx manually like we used to.
Спасибо тебе дружище за такое видео!
My pleasure, I'm glad you found it useful : D
Hi can you please tell me what are your pc specs?
Ryzen 7 5700x with an rtx 4070
Great tutorial. Playing it on half speed, i could actually follow.😂
Thank you ! Yes, coming back to it months later it was definiteky very fast and sped up. Tried to fix this in my most recent tutorials, let me know if you have any hard time following through.
Blender_Version?
Any version would work : D
where can i download add on for grass?
It is available on blendermarket. you could also get the free biome reader and also get the 3dshaker free grass biomes.
The video is a great idea, I just think your execution of what you've labeled a "beginner tutorial" is miss leading... to start with Geo-scatter isn't a freely available tool, 2ndly, you haven't enabled the key display, so whatever key you press we can see, and replicate. When you brought the camera out you also didn't show us how to properly do that, I could go on...... this is my point.... The foundational pre-requisites of "beginner" have been totally evaded. I mean... this is more like advanced, it didn't do the job for me who is an actual beginner. I don't even want to look at your channel now because of it.
Thank you for the feedback, the video was 8 months ago, and i have taken all the feedback into consideration and are doing longer videos with everything explained.
it would be nice if you made a series or a video showing just using blender as a render engine. I use rhino 3d and I want to use blender as a render, but when ever I try to do so, it doesnt work out the same. It would be cool to show a workflow of going from rhino or any other 3dsoftware to blender to render
Will be going over that in the future, if you are doing exteriors, you could share a model you are making in rhino and i can make a case study over it.
i need your stormy hdr please
Just wanted to let others know because i got stuck on this part too. For the nodes when adjusting the sky at 10:10 make sure your ozone matches for both sky texutres or else the sun won't work and it will look like night time. I don't know if this is just my prblems but thats what was happening to me.

Fantastic
Glad you found it useful : D
do you have online course to learn blender from scratch to get result like this?
In the works as we speak, we will cover modeling from floor plans up to making a final render using only free assets.
@@AlternaVisionStudio If possible include the export from other cad softwares like archicad/revit. (also update the model which was previously exported) and you got yourself another buyer hah
@imflaviopires I will include that as a section for sure. However, i will also include using the floor and sectional plans to model off of as well.
@@AlternaVisionStudio when will the course be released?
@FR_Montana i have already started the recording so hopefully not too far away. Feel free to message me on instagram so i can keep you updated and provide you with a promo code once it's released.
Привет ! Видео супер 👍🏻 ! Я занимаюсь Sketchup + Enscape программами и хотел попробовать Blender... Но я не нашел видео детально как экспортировать из Sketchup ! Можете снять про это видео ? спасибо 🤝
Feel free to dm me so i can walk you through it.
I don't know why but using the AO node as a shader blending mask just doesn't work if you connect textures to (Distance) I tried this for both the wet part of the sand and the foam, but it doesn't work in either case.
Make sure you are visualizing it in cycle, also make sure that your scene's scale is somewhat realistic.
@@AlternaVisionStudio I didn't think about the scale of the scene, thank you for your answer
nice tutorial, i would like the stormy hdri link, can't find it

Great tutorial. Thank you!
Glad you liked it : D
great tutorial , would you please share the basic mesh scene?
Thank you ! As much as i would love to share this exact scene, it was based on a commercial project and also uses paid assets i can't give away. Don't worry though i am going to do a giveaway in the next week or so of an interior scene.
Nice
Thank you Karam : D
great tutorial, thank you ! But what is the add-on for that search bar thing?
Thank you : D The search bar is a native feature inside of blender, i mapped mine to its old shortcut as ctrl space bar.
Thank you so much man How can i get the addons?
My pleasure 🙏 As for the addons i used geo scatter, you can find it on blender market, as well as some biopacks that can be found on blender market and gumroad as well. The photographer addon is on gumroad.
Ive been repeating this tutorial for 4 times now , I just cant get that edges that u made man , HOW or is it because of 4.0 version is bad
Please mention the minute and second you struggle with through the video, so i could walk you through it.
Hey thanks for the video. I have one question: At the very beginning when importing the collada file I got an critcal error : ERROR_ZML_PARSER_ERROR which forced to stop the import. Do you have a solution for this problem?
The alternative would be using the skp importer addon, if it does not work and you still want to follow through the tutorial message me on instagram and i will send you the model.
Where'd u get those tree assets from
Botaniq addon : D
I want the tree asset.
@@dwiprasetya1687 the assets are from the botaniq addon
Hi. Your render is 🔥. Can you render with a cloudy sky? And fog and winter and raining
@@maksatmid thank you ! For sure, we can definitely work on a winter scene : D
I can’t even understand anything
@evansndubuisi3314 i have made the tutorials more beginner friendly in later videos : D
Okay much appreciated 🫶🏼🫶🏼… but where is the video link? … and also I’ll appreciate if you do a proper guide on how to import these models into blender set up the materials showing us the easiest ways as beginners and the environment as well then also how to do the render settings and render
Already working on that, which would be a full tutorial that'll be 7 to 10 hours long, taking you from scratch to a nice image. Message me on instagram so i could let you know once its out.
nah, shows how you made the videos cover photo
The only difference is the sun's direction, change it, add some slight clarity in photoshop camera raw filter and its exactly the same image and the same scene 😄
All your assets are payed?
Botaniq and bagapie are paid, there are free alternatives that i mentioned in earlier videos such as some free blender market packs.
Great tutorial! It's great to have videos like yours that have a good rhythm and really teach and don't rush around like crazy. Cheers! 🙏

Glad it was helpful 🫡❤️
What's your computer specs to handle a scene as big as this?
Its not a big scene at all, most of the geometry comes from instances which take less ram and computing, the textures are quite small too. I am using a ryzen 7 5700x and an rtx 4070. But even an I5 7th gen alone and 16gb of ram would work for this well too, even less would work too.
@@AlternaVisionStudio Thanks for the help!
i have done architectural work in blender for a while now but i hv always wondered if there is a way i can use an hdr for background clouds whilst using blender sky texture for lighting and have just bumped into it randomly on this video 😂😂😂😂 trying it right now and thanks for this video

Thank you so much for your videos!! scatter is an amazing tool and thorught your videos I especially learn how to properly use it to achieve nice exterior results!
@@89kessi glad you found it useful, geo scatter is a time saver, something like itoo software forestpack if you've ever used 3Ds max. Keep us updated if you follow any of the tutorials or just want to showcase your work 🤝
At 2:20, you should also change outer mitter to arc in bevel modifier.
@rajendrameena150 in this particular case it gave bad results, keep in mind, this is a skp mesh that does not have the right topology nor supporting loops. You could try both and see which one is better in this case, i found that leaving it as default gave better corners especially on the windows.
