Technics DJ Turntables are rock solid build especially the early 1200's or even the 1210's The new DJ Turntable by Technics the MK7 is a very good build but I'm in total agreeance about some things on it would be above average this I'm sure is about cutting costs or something like that. DJ Turntables will never be made like the Mighty 1200's or as I said before the 1210's. I still have my 1210 MK2 bought from new from Derringers Keswick in Adelaide SA this Turntable never misses a beat its rock solid and I love it. I was running with the Turntable a Shure M447 Cartridge but I wasn't scratching like DJ's do but no longer made in Mexico if memory serves... You can still get them on eBay but quite expensive. A truly excellent review my friend keep up the good work. God bless.

transitions a bit weak. Trance is built for 3 minute mixes, and what separates great Djs from average ones is how long they can keep 2 records in the mix. Hitting changes in the songs at the exact same time so you don't even need to use the EQ. Hitting that change where one songs bass drops out, one songs bass kicks in. One builds up while the other song winds down and ride the mix all the way to the breakdown. There's DJs, then there are great DJs who know all of their songs inside out, have all the phrase counts of each intro and outro memorised, and they make every transition "pop" building energy, rather than short "safe" transitions starting at the last 4 phrases of the outro, mildly fading out and killing the energy. The release should come on the breakdown, not midway through the intro 4 phrases in. For example: Xstasia - Sweetnes into Marc Et Claude - La 1:02:40 When La changed, Xstsia should have kicked in on the 4 or even 6 phrase mark, that mix would have popped. Timed to perfection. What we got is a safe transition starting when "La" changed and it was a bit of a damp squib, blandly fading out killing energy.

I don't DJ but I wouldn't want this crap either. I paid $725 for a Pioneer PLX1000 which is much nicer than this and made in the same factory I believe. But the PLX1000 is definitely not set up for DJ work, just music.

Stumbled in here and wasn't disappointed. Great selection of the classics. Love watching trance mixed on vinyl. Many thanks and subscribed :)
