ONA Brixton camera bag | Long term road test
มุมมอง 20K9 ปีที่แล้ว
The Brixton, from Ona, is a solidly constructed, practical camera bag that looks beautiful, with it's hand-stitched, full grain leather. The interior is typical camera bag fare with hook and loop panels to divide things up how you need. I'll leave the rest for the video but will finish up here by saying I love this bag and use it every single day... For more reviews, news, tips and tricks for d...

    People who need good battery performance should look at the ULV dual core ZBook. You are giving up four cores but the battery life is phenomenal! The only question, is the trade off worth it? I guess it comes down to what you need and want out of a mobile workstation and that depends on what people do in their individual situation. That said, the quad core ZBook Studio is designed for content creators snd the professional market segment who can’t wait for their work to catch up with them.

      The ISV certified high end software optimised to work on mobile workstations is more expensive than the mobile workstation itself. If you’re a professional, you’re paying for that too because in one’s line of work, nothing but the best will do.

    Actually funny thing is, there is another plugin similar to dem earth, its called autodesk infraworks But i wouldn’t recommend it, to use it with maya or 3ds max, you need to purchase another subscription of 150$/month, and it does the job but the quality of dem earth is much better than infraworks I should know, i used it for afew tourist projects for clients, i’m not a fan of infraworks

      The unit in the review is the G3 Studio, Zbook G3 15 and G3 17 are different machines, they are bulkier, with an extra disk slot ( not 100% sure on this ) and support up to 64GB of ram ( the studio variant supports up to 32 ), you can easily identify them by the touch pad as they have buttons. Also check HP page for a comparison and check the differences.

      I have the ZBook 14 G2. Everything is upgradeable including RAM, NvME PCle SSD (Primary OS for SSD), and the empty slot next to battery can be used for a 2nd SSD like Samsung EVO. That is my setup. Well worth the investment and eBay sells the ZBook 14 G2 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD (NvMe PCle) for ~$400. Better getting that model with i7 5th generation and add your 2nd SSD for more storage.

    What is the point of loading up a workstation that has a W8100 or Quadro with gamer cards? I don't understand how that would help? I saw on your blog that you said "a good mix is to run a workstation card as my main driver and keep a couple of gaming cards in my PC for ‘dumb’ acceleration when more GPU’s are needed.". How do you decide ehich gamer card to use? When is it needed? How is this managed? I am in the process of a new build so any info regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

    I use macs 95 percent of the time, but I still like using Sony Vegas Pro (now Magix) over any of the other programs. Have you done any testing with this program? It's interesting, you like the keyboard, many others didn't. Now that you've used the HP for awhile, would you purchase it again ... or maybe a workstation like Dell 5510. Again, thanks, great video.

    Hi! Was there any motherboard issue with it?

  • @-MisterL-
    @-MisterL- 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Specification wise: The AMD W8100 has 2560 streaming processors, higher memory bandwidth 320 GB/s, and a larger memory interface ( 512bit ), with all this running at 220 W max TDP. As for the NVIDIA M5000, Cuda Cores are at 2048, memory bandwidth is at 211 GB/s, and memory interface is 256 GB/s, with all this running at 150 W max tdp. However numbers don't really mean much, since hardware design does come into account. In this case the umbers indicate AMD as a well built machine, but in all likely hood performance increase is seen in the NVIDIA card since most of the programs ran are optimized for the CUDA api. Some Info for the GPU seeker: If you are looking at Workstation GPUs for gaming purposes, you're better off purchasing a dedicated Gaming GPU as they are optimized for gaming. If you want to double duty the GPU, they are capable of running games well ( I mean look at their specs), you'll notice a small performance decrease ( max usually around 10% ), due to inadequate optimization. If you're building a more green PC, many of the workstation GPUs provide great performance at lower TDP consumption ( but many gaming GPU manufacturers have a market for them as well ). In the end there are many variables that come into play ( mainly in hardware utilization whether it's the GPU board or your actual motherboard, those have bandwidth limitations too ), so pick what you like, what's in your budget, what meets your power needs, etc etc. Just remember workstation GPUs are really expensive from the get go ( since you'll usually see companies buying them not individual consumers, so there is usually a bundle deal ), so you're better off getting a better gaming GPU if you're looking for strictly gaming, since those are targeted towards individual consumers in terms of pricing.

      6 years down the line I can confirm for everything NLP Nvidia is there with pytorch and tensor flow, but Radeon is behind, and their wattage is insane.

    This NVIDIA QUADRO M5000 ($2,600+) is in our work PCs, which it crashes and under performs the ASUS Radeon Strix R9 390 ($340+) in terms of speed and stability, at such a huge cost savings. I am not sure about the AMD W8100 since I don't own one, but with the NVIDIA Quadro M5000, which is suppose to be a workstation card, I am skeptical about these bench tests since real world applications speak for themselves.

    It really depens on the tasks you do on battery. I have the 'normal' 15" G3 and if i do office stuff, browse a website i can get to about 5hours on battery. But if you start kicking it's ass yes, you see it draining. Overal they are great laptops! I realy like the keyboard and having a numpad is also great. There is also a 'ultrabook' version of the zbook and they are also very capable. But it is true that MacOS does a better job with opening and closing the laptop. Though you can adjust things in the BIOS. Also, the fingerprint is handy for me as a network admin. I do not need to type in the long passwd i just swipe and log in :)

    • @NormanF62
      @NormanF62 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh definitely! It won an Academy Award and the contrast here is like day and night and once you see a DreamColour display, ordinary displays appear mediocre by comparison. If your living involves dealing with accurate colours, you need a display that helps you figure out how a scene should be composed. Especially when you’re making or editing a video, that can make a real difference.
