What Exertion Looks Like Running A Marathon (Whoop, Oura & Garmin)
I wore a Whoop, Garmin & Oura Ring in this year’s marathon to test the accuracy and reliability of the data. The Whoop 4.0, Oura Ring Gen 3 and Garmin Forerunner 245 are some of the more popular fitness wearables on the market. Unfortunately, my phone died, so the data distance and pace data is a bit inaccurate due to the devices not having GPS. Enjoy!

I Ran 2nd Marathon | Can I Avoid Hitting The Wall (Again)?

Last year, I ran my first marathon and hit the wall quite badly. This year, armed with my cheap sunnies, singlet and 'marathon mullet,' we return for redemption. I tried to follow some beginner marathon tips that I learnt from my previous experience. Overall, it was an electric experience in Sydney and I'm hopeful we can qualify as an Abbotts Major Marathon. I Ran 'The Real NYC Marathon' (26 Landmarks)
มุมมอง 2223 หลายเดือนก่อน
In late July, whilst I was in New York City I wanted to run a marathon that went through popular landmarks and historical sites. I’m also a cinephile so I tie these locations to some famous movies & TV shows. 🗽 Unfortunately, it was quite hot and I severely overestimated my running ability (also having spent several weeks in Europe drinking 😂) and as a result, I hit the wall/bonked extremely ea...

I Learnt Bouldering In 6 Months | Progression Video
Guys, remember if you do muscle up like this guy you won't progress any further to a strict muscle up. To progress strict MU you need to train high pull ups trying aim to chest and lower for 3-5 reps each set, then you need to train transition part specifically on a low bar. You don't need to do any muscle ups at all (don't do it like this guy). You only need to train this 2 exercises high pull ups and transition for few months and then you get your strict clean muscle with perfect form in a first try. Good luck!
great video. i will do my first marathon in under 2 weeks from now in Shanghai. Super excited
Good job! Congrats :) But I have to point out that those are kipping muscle-ups, not strict muscle-ups (not that it's bad, but it's just a different one). Also, you your legs movement when coming up was funny asf xD But yeah you'd probably do better if you kept your core tight and your legs straight (not easier, but cleaner and helpful to keep energy between reps, which would allow you to do more in the end).
Good point! Thanks for the tips!
IMHO, you're the winner of the Sydney Marathon!
Thanks Greg! Really appreciate it! Are you looking to run a marathon anytime?
@@Justin_Ly I am considering running my first! Portland (Oregon), next October. Your videos are feeding my ambition.
Good lessons, and you finished! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers mate! 🙏 Appreciate it!
Ive got my first Marathon in April 2025 and im hoping for a sub 4, i know its going to be really really hard but im hoping if i put in the work i can do sub 4. I ran my first half Marathon in 1.42 so i thini it is achievable. Did or have you used the Runna app for training.
Hey Kevin! Thanks for the comment and good luck on your marathon! Yes, I used the Runna app for all my training! It was honestly great in keeping me motivated and disciplined! If you want, you can do a 2-week free trial with code 'LESHGO.' I'm sure you'll crush it! 💪
7c+ is not v6 bro xD
NGL i get so confused!
great performance bro killed it!
Thanks Johnny! Appreciate it! 🔥
Thanks for this. I just completed my first 42k marathon a week ago. Resetting to train for my next marathon coming up end of Feb next year. Which watch do recommend to track pace and distance?
Thanks for the comment and sub!! I really appreciate it! I would recommend the Garmin Forerunner. I picked a cheap one off Facebook marketplace. Good luck for your future races!
Can't wait to do my first, marathon at 41 yrs old lol... very inspiring... ❤
Never too late mate! Stay consistent and you'll crush it! Keen to follow along 💪
Awesome video ❤
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it! 🔥
@@Justin_Ly I am following you on strava. I do a bit of running myself.
@@azjz Lovely to meet you mate! All the best in your running journey! I might catch you around in Sydney!
@@Justin_Ly thank you, likewise... keep the videos coming 🙏
whoop and oura do not have gps so they have to rely on the gps from the phone, if it dies so does the data for gps map and pace goes with it.
@@antigen6870 Great point! Makes sense as to why the pace and distance data is completely off. I wonder if it affects other data such as Avg Hr and calories for the activity. Thanks for the comment! 🔥
fire vid
I've got a ring like the Oura that I got off temu, how do you reckon it would stack up?

Thank you Edward! Appreciate it 💪
absolutely HUGE LESHGO Matt!👑👑
Outstanding progress! There's no way I can manage a 1.5 hour PB like you lol, would have to break the sub-2hr barrier for that!
First ever marathon is insane!! And with only 1 gel 😯! Keen to see where you go from here! 🔥🔥
Dam beast Matt, have followed your solid training in the lead up and it's certainly paid off, well done! 🙌 (Oprah's been real quiet since this race 👀)
HAHAHA now im scared she's putting in that secret mileage
Well done man, huge PB and massive redemption from last year!! Experience really is key, keen to see you smash it in your next one!
Thanks Rob 🙏🙏 always appreciate it 🔥

Thank you so much for the feature sir! The vids so much better than i could’ve imagined💪🏼🔥top tip: don’t use rugby fitness as marathon training😂

What's your IG?
I've just recently opened a new account! Give me a follow @imjustinly :)
Well done Justin. Saw your video last year and great to see your improvement. But the camera shake at the end was rather off putting. Maybe get to run this event at some point.
Thanks Edward!! All the best! 💪
Great video brother. Just taking a dump right now. I got Chicago next weekend 💪 Tip for on course hydration: squeeze the cups in half at the top of the rim so the water flows slower and you don’t risk choking from accidental big gulps.
Great tip!! Thanks Justin!!!
Woah, amazing pace and looking strong 💪🏻 Well done! Congratulations 🎉
Thank you so much! 🫶
Your race and the video were both better than your first. Great improvement! What was your average heart rate in the beginning, middle, and end of the race?
Thank you so much Steph! It was around 154 average but I'll make a video on that shortly! 🔥
I’ve been a runner for 7 years, competed in high school and community college. I thought I wouldn’t hit the wall because my body was adapted to the strain. I was soooo wrong 😂, cramped in my hamstrings at 18 and 21 and hit the wall at 22. Still got my BQ time and I’ve been accepted but def going to take conservative approach as well as bring those salt tabs.
Congratulations on the BQ!! That is an amazing effort!! Thanks for the comment and sharing, really appreciate it! 🔥
Watched your video last year and this time you ran with amazing control and determination. An inspiration. Well done & congrats Justin from England. LESHGO!
Thank you so much Adrian! Really appreciate the comment and the support 🫶🔥
Great job!!!! Congrats!!!
Thank you so much 😀
how to lower heart rate
Run more.
you did it!
Great result, Justin! Sydney 2024 was my first marathon and finished with a 4:03. Can’t wait to push for a chunky course PB next year, as well as doing Gold Coast. What’s next on your race agenda?
Congratulations Mitch!! I hope you had a good time out there! Might be thinking of doing Gold Coast aswell but honestly not sure yet! We'll see what comes hahah! All the best 🔥🔥
Elite stuff
Thank you sir! 🔥

i watched your video from last year and really waiting for this video of your experience this year. good to see you smash it this time!
Thank you so much 🔥 really appreciate it 😁
Gooood stuff man, I also watched your video last year before running my first at Sydney. Great vid!
Thank you!!! Really appreciate it!
Great advice. Just did 10k warm up then 20k mara pace. Did feel easier then starting 20k race pace. Psychologically makes me feel prepped for backend of the race. Bloody wall real. As they say race start at 20miles
Thanks for the comment!! It's weird how it works like that but mentals definitely play a part! 🔥
@@Justin_Ly keep at it. Incredible how a running journey starts with a decision. Well done
Sydney was beautifully brutal will race again next year for sure chasing that pb
