We RESTORE an Old Access Road to Our Land | Rural Living
Access to our off grid homestead is about to get so much better. We have been hard at work, clearing land and cutting down flammable gorse and broom to open up an old road, which we hope to use as the main entrance/exit for our land!
It has been a lot of work, but we've been rewarded with more open views and the discovery of a few cork oak trees.
See you all soon,
Dani, Will and Bailey x x

Well done! So much work, but so much to explore :)
Oh what busy bees you both been! I just know you will enjoy having 2nd entrance to your home. The Portuguese Shepard pie looked delicious. Happy Sunday to you both. 😊
Olá bom dia e bom Domingo? Gostam de Portugal antão portem-se bem e muita coragem para limparem isso tudo ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great job also removing all that broom means your fire risk is lowered in the summer.
Just shows you what Talking Heads, together and hard work can make a road to nowhere go some where 😂
Good morning. I love to see you're already on the next project. Will that driveway give you a better access to the public road, as the actual one is quite steep. Good luck with that.
I rember when you first showed us that old access road that’s going to be a whole lot of work from what I remember .
Unless you come from the North, Portuguese weather is not bad but is not fantastic... Ocean water is cold, even in Summer, not freezing but not GREAT !!!
Don't have to move now, have it all in my sitting room 🎉
I absolutely love watching you guys you make me smile, I can’t wait to see your adventures
As a piece of info...the fireworks you hear during the day is a series shot bangs that announce the beginning and end of a festival at a particular town....you just have to check the local flyers/pamphlets or online to check times and music genre and bands....😊
I lived a lot of time of my life in Argentina, where I went to college . Other lot in Hamburg, were I went to high school . Believe me, reason Nbr 1 in Portugal for me is safety. Greetings from Coimbra
Hey guys, just had you pop up in my feed. Great stuff. We are near Guarda, Serra da Estrela - wonderful community here. Wonderful place for kids. From the landscape, you are fairly close by? Happy to see that things are working out for you...of course, it's hard in the cold & rain, but as soon as the sun comes out, it's t-shirts only! Reach out if you'd like to - take care & all the best! Steve @HowardsPortugal
Great video! have a great day
❤❤❤
Glad to see young couples living in my country, unfortunately a few years ago i did the opposite. Wish you all the best
You certainly do live in a beautiful part of Portugal and you both are so positive and you have so much to do there. Love the chook house. Always look forward to your next video.
Thank you, certainly will never be stuck for things to do 😅 see you soon 💚
6 hrs to drive Portugal? That’s not happening and I’ve driven it several times
I suppose it depends on the route you take! But I've got from faro to porto a few times in under 6 hours
Another lovely video. Thank you, if I were 30 years younger, I would be your neighbour by now. It’s so nice to see great wisdom in such a lovely young couple. Keep up the good work and good life, you make me feel very happy indeed.
Aww how lovely, thanks so much 😊💚
My first post here but not my last. What a great people you are 😊 Going to look back (from the beginning). We also looking for a new beginning in Portugal and now still in the Netherlands. Any suggestions what to do?
Welcome to the channel 🤗 That's super! First thing is work out what exactly you want/what you are looking for and if you want it enough you will find a way to make it happen 😊 everybody has different circumstances and different things to consider so best to do what you feel is right for you 💚
@BaileysHomestead basically going off grid in the area of Coimbra but Central Portugal is also a great place to seek for land and maybe a few ruins to build up. You two have a great place with waterfalls and plenty to do this year 💪. When i am in Portugal ill give a pm or something to give you guys 2 extra hands for help.
@--RaGe-- ah yes please do message when you're here 😊 Any specific questions we can help with just let us know too
@@BaileysHomestead meanwhile enjoy the adventure and have fun with building cool things 👍
Kitchen is stunning!
Thank you 😊

As irish people were you surprised to find so much celtic culture influences in the North of Portugal? I suspect it must have been something unexpected for you given how further south is Portugal.
My husband is from Belfast Northern Ireland and I live there for 2 years back in 1999. It's beautiful but it does rain alot but I didn't mind. But I brought him back to Oklahoma 23 years ago and we've been married for 25. Portugal looks beautiful but I don't think it could ever take the cake to Ireland. But maybe I'm partial lol
Aw we also love Ireland! It's were we originally wanted to buy a property but here we get better weather 😉💚
Good afternoon !!! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
💚💚💚
Very impressed on what you have achieved in relatively short time we was going to do move then covid hit and didn't do it but we still feel like going but unsure if easy or hard to do now
Its worth looking into 😊💚
💚👩❤️👨🐕🏞️🍀💚

so beautiful to see all that you have accomplished - with humility, reverence and perseverance. may you be blessed.
💚💚
Omg he gave me such high school public speaking flashbacks 😂 especially in his first solo bit about the landscape With the trying to remember his lines Haha, i do love you guys though i do obviously prefer the more spontaneous content 😂
Great episode! Thanks guys!!
nice to see young couples moving in and eventually become Portuguese very nice all the best
🇵🇹💚
Portugal is great and can totally understand why you chose it.
💚🇵🇹
Welcome to Portugal! I really enjoy your videos and wish you much success. people like you preserving our landscapes and country side warms my heart. we need more people like you instead of all these golden visas for rich people who price out the Portuguese people.
Thank you so much 😊💚 love the simply lifestyle we can live here!
Welkome to the country! I keep awaiting one video in Portuguese! And some children around you!
Maybe one day 😉💚🇵🇹

Realmente Portugal é um país singular, único.❤❤
Verdadeira 💚🇵🇹
If you likethe country why promote it?
To hopefully provide information to others who are interested
We went to Portugal in the summer and it was beautiful!! Everything you said is so true. The people were so wonderful, and the streets are immaculate. They take pride in their country and it shows. My grandmother was born in Villa Real and my great grandparents were born in the Azores. It’s eye opening coming from the United States. A totally different way of life. It was so nice to see. What do you do there to make money?
It's so true! How lovely to have family from here 😊 We will do another video some time on money, but I've had a job until recently, now we are just trying to minimise what we need to spend
Happy 2025! Is Health & Medical insurance and availability a concern?
Not really for us, portugal has a decent public health system which we are happy with for now 😊
I never even considered why you were there. I hope those 6 reasons will always be appreciated by you.
💚
That's it. Go ahead to live your life as you want. I follow you from your first beginnings down there in Portugal, even all the ups and downs and never lost your positive energy, not when the house got flooded, not when they stole your equipment. You're a role model for having a good life by just enjoying the small gifts that you earn by your hard work. Appreciate what you are doing and promoting.
Ah thank you so much Peter, that's all we try to do! Have the freedom to live life as we want, doing as much as we can ourselves, learning and sharing as we go 🤗💚💚
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys 🙏💞 sounds really good 💯😊 maybe I will also come over there when I can find some money and a good wife 😉.
Big love Arjan 💚💚
