Unfortunately, our pets seldom outlive us. Sometimes, the most compassionate gift we can give them is to mercifully let them go. This video is taken from the images of the Ubertool site and mixed with (I hope) appropriate music. For anyone who has had to go through this ordeal, you'll know how difficult it is, even when you KNOW it's the best thing for your pet; this dog's perspective may bring...

I didnt want to come here at first , my friend that just came into my life is battling Lung Cancer - Love you Pattie ❤ my sister, My friend ❤
2024 and still loving this song!
Melissa You helped me through my chemo!!! Loved you since day 1. Been to many of your concerts and you just light up the whole world!! Thank you God Bless you!! And hey Thanks! ❤
As a singer/songwriter Patty is one of the best and, in my opinion, is superior to many who get more recognition. I will always love her....
I have it. Now. Terminal.
These hidden gems exist for those of us who are... a bit sharper tools in the shed.
Melissa is 100% correct. I was in the hospital after a life altering surgery. I spent 47 days in the hospital and 7 days in ICU. The very first thing I wanted to hear as soon as I was able to listen after coming out of a coma was music throughout my entire stay in the hospital❤. That's all I wanted to hear was music❤. So I had my daughter bring me my little phone and I put it next to my ear and I would listen to my music. I firmly believe it is the ultimate healing after God.🕊️🙏🕊️ God first🙏 music second,,,,,,, 5:23 no doubt about it. Melissa, thank you for sharing❤
Great song
Melissa is so beautiful here.
Am I crazy? Useless Desires is my fav; and she had a long list of banger! And the Sky Turns to Fire.....
I miss you, Lisa
When I paddled from Key Largo to Canada to raise money money and awareness for breast cancer in '96 I saw Melissa play in Portland Maine. I had no idea she fought the fight. Perhaps it was after that. Give give give to your local orgs to help women protect their assets and get any kind of support they need!
Lonnie Johnson wrote it! Fantastic 1947 Hit. His original 47' version (just guitar, bass and piano, no choir) is the best there is.
We love you, Patty ❤️💜💙💗💚💘💖❣️💓💕💐🥀🌺🌷🌹☀️🌞🙂
This was the song that my brother introduced me to Patty Griffin to when I was 20 years old 27 years ago or maybe 24…we grew up poor…Patty sings songs for us.
Love this song unbelievable performance lyrics that touch your heart and soul. I'm typing this from my hometown, Derry Northern Ireland 🇮🇪 0:09 x⚘️🌎💪🙏❤️👏
Das beste, was für meinen Abend möglich war. ❤ wow😮
Unbelievable talent from two beautiful Ladies!! Tremendous song. At the top of my playlist!
Saw them do this show at Massey Hall, Toronto. Saw many shows there but this is one of the most memorable.
Love the short hair. After listening to this, I did alot of bio studies on Melissa. A remarkable and talented artist. Glad you pulled through. I listen to Patty when I need to turn off the noise around me.
Let's talk about Patty...t'was a year ago I saw her in Savannah...she's had things too...as have I since...nothing worth doing comes easy..anyway, what a beautiful and powerful song! If ever, one wonders, play this as many times in a row as needed...it does wonders...Bliss!
My word, This is so goodXx.
I have this on DVD. I had to get it after I saw this when it first aired. What a fabulous group. Emmy Lou's hair is absolutely stunning. I hope my hair freys like that.
I am not even sure how many times I have watched this. Each and every time it just sends goosebumps down my arms and refills my soul. LOVE this
Such a powerful voice for a person of small stature.
love!!
If you’re ever having a tough day, put on a Patty Griffin tune and let your heavy heart be unburdened.
Woulda been nice to see Julie in there..❤
LOVE Patty Griffin. A magnificent singer, songwriter and story teller.
Love her... Saw her in Boulder co. In 2009 ish?... "Stolen car" and "Tony".. and the tears they evoked. ❤
I was there...magical performance
wow great song - she is great every time I hear her
As originally aired, this show was at least twice as long as this. Maybe a full hour? There's a link out there somewhere. So damn good. I think it may have been on this tour that he found out he needed open heart surgery.
thank you for posting this . I HAD forgotten about John Prine's Souvenirs. Bruce, you reminded me! - - now that i have Lewy Body Dementia, this song means even more to me - - thank you, again
The lyric,” you’re out there walking down the highway and all of the signs got blown away, sometimes you wonder if you’re walking in the wrong direction”. That lyric so resonates with me. The last three years have been some of the most turbulent, scary years of my life. There have been so many days where I just told myself put one foot in front of the other and hoped to god I am going in the right direction. 💜🙏💜
Don’t know you but hope you are doing better!
Amen ! 🙏 Hope & Pray you’re doing BETTER ! 😇
Red lights are flashing on the highway I wonder if we're gonna ever get home I wonder if we're gonna ever get home tonight Everywhere the waters getting rough Your best intentions may not be enough I wonder if we're gonna ever get home tonight But if you break down I'll drive out and find you If you forget my love I'll try to remind you And stay by you when it don't come easy I don't know nothing except change will come Year after year what we do is undone Time keeps moving from a crawl to a run I wonder if we're gonna ever get home You're out there walking down a highway And all of the signs got blown away Sometimes you wonder if you're walking in the wrong direction But if you break down I'll drive out and find you If you forget my love I'll try to remind you And stay by you when it don't come easy So many things that I had before That don't matter to me now Tonight I cry for the love that I've lost And the love I've never found When the last bird falls And the last siren sounds Someone will say what's been said before Its only love we were looking for But if you break down I'll drive out and find you If you forget my love I'll try to remind you And stay by you when it don't come easy Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Patricia J. It's not far I can walk Down the block to table talk Close my eyes, make the pies all day Plastic a cap on my hair I used to mind now I don't care I used to mind now I don't care 'cause I'm gray Did I show you the picutre of my nephew Taken at his big birthday surprise At my sisters house last Sunday Now it's Monday and I'm making pies I'm making pies, making pies, pies Thursday nights I go to type Down at the church for Father Mike It gets me out and he ain't hard to like at all Jesus stares at me in my chair With his big blue eyes and his honey brown hair And he's looking at me way up there on the wall Did I show you this picture of my sweetheart Taken of us before the war Of the Greek and his Italian girl One Sunday at the shore We tied our ribbons to the fire escape They were taken by the birds Who flew home to the country As the bombs rained on the world Five a.m., here I am Walking the block to table talk You could cry or die or just make pies all day I'm making pies, making pies, making pies, making pies Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Patty Griffin
You know you've done enough when every bone is sore You know you've prayed enough when you don't ask any more You know you're coming to some kind of understanding When every dream you've dreamed has passed and you're still standing Mama says god tends to every little skinny sheep So count your ribs and say your prayers and get to sleep Nothing is louder to god's ears than a poor mans sorrow Daddy is poor today and he will be poor tomorrow Hey that's the poor man's house Everybody get a look at the poor man's house Everywhere they went before must have turned them out And now they're living in a poor man's house There's nothing like poverty to get you into heaven They got a lot of wine and fish up there And the bread's unleavened They got a lot of ears that heard a whip go crack Lots of missing toes and fingers and scars upon their backs Daddy's been working too much for days and days He doesn't eat He never says much but I think this time it's got him beat It isn't that he isn't strong or kind or clever Your daddy's poor today And he will be poor forever That's the poor man's house Those kids are living in a poor man's house They walk to school with the soles of their shoes worn out And come home in the evening to the poor man's house What are you chopping that wood for Why are you growing that corn Mama's sewing a brand new shirt and You're wearing the one that's torn I guess it's for some one else's kid who wasn't born In a poor man's house Hey take a look at that house Everybody we're living in a poor man's house Seems like everywhere we go they find us out Find out that we've been living in a poor man's house Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Patty Griffin
This video is a gem! The 1st real band I ever sat in with was "The Millstone Valley Boys" Band of Steve "Buddy" Miller's in the early 1970's Princeton, NJ. He's also one of the finest people I've ever known.
I took off my iron smile, babe, 'cause I found it weighed me down Tomorrow when the world wakes up I'll be in another town You don't know what you want At this moment could be me You move your hand across my knee Turn me into some novelty [Chorus] I guess I'm One more girl on a stage Just one more ass that got stuffed in some jeans And its one more day that you don't find true love Because you don't know what it means Yeah yeah Did you ever take the time to Think about who I might be Where I've been, what I'm thinkin' Who I love, what I've seen Yeah yeah, Yeah yeah, Yeah yeah Oh oh One more car out on the road there You might pass on your way home Someone's sister, someone's wife or Just some bitch who's probably got no life Yes I'm [Chorus] One day we'll be a pile of ashes For the rest of time it passes So take your hand off my knee Do you know what it means to be [Chorus] Yeah yeah
Damn, I heard EmmyLou strike the first few chords for nobody’s crying at the end there, and I started crying. Lol
Wow 🤩 that’s awesome !!!
What an awesome video! Thanks for posting!!!
Great song, great voice and great production. Patty deserves so much more for her great talents - so underrated.
Amazing!
One of the best lyricists and vocalists of our time. This whole album helped me immensely when it came out. I still love it just as much 25 years later.
LOVE this you're the kind of love we read about in a fairy tale --- the spinners !!!!
