I think you did not mention the most obvious difference that pokes in the eyes at first glance: the covering glass that is flush with case on one, while sticking out and having beveled edges magnifying the blue line on the other.

I have the variant that looks like the f91w, with a cool grey toned screen as opposed to the warm brownish tone here. The light on mine makes the numerals glow with the background seeming to go dark from the contrast - effectively looking like a glowing negative display. It's the best looking light I've seen in any casio. I like it more than the backlights and it's better than anything on a gshock.

I bought a original one just yesterday, and it does not have the U below.

I know this is your hobby, but man, you need to let off on the fake watch, it cost you 12 fucking pounds. The light stays on longer, that's your complaint ? It's a feature, not a weakness

Just watched this and checked out my new casio. Everything points to mine being real. Aside from the country on the back of the watch, it says Hong Kong. And the clasp is missing the arrow. Im assuming the clasp was changed at some point! Everything is correct other than them two. Doing a little digging, they made them I hong Kong. So happy days.

Fake F-91W watches will say that it is 'Made In Japan', not China nor Thailand.

The window is made of Resin glass. This is not as cheap compared to other lower-priced analogue Casio models with Minieral glass.

I bought one from ebay that looks identical to the genuine one on the right but doesnt have the illuminator back light even though it says it on the front, has a single tiny green led, seller tried saying it was real.

Great video. Everything on mine matches, except my strap has casio Japan on the adjustment piece made in China on the watch back, but the watch ticks evey box you mentioned and looks the part.

Thanks! I had to check again how to get to 24 hour display after putting in a new CR-2016 lithium battery today. With the last one, my Casio CA-62 ran for an incredible 13.5 years! A fantastic watch. Only the original watch strap broke after a few years. The date reset to January 1, 1980, I bought the watch in the early 1990s without instructions for use, it was a display model in the store.

One more difference:The seconds hand runs ahead than in the original

The knockoff has a low quality cast case, you can see quite clearly that the angles are rounded and not as sharp as on the genuine watch also the buttons are a smaller diameter.

Mine arrived off eBay today £13 Argos £20 don't know why I just didn't buy at Argos but I reckoned like most people why would anyone fake a £20 watch..... Mine passed all the red flag markers you show bar 2. It has no tiny u and the adjustable clasp only says stainless steel but everything else is bang on. Fake ? Iam not sure but if it is it's a good fake.... Great video by the way 👌

Well, I just bought a A168W; and according this video it's a mixture of fake/real stuff 😂 I paid £13 for it from an eBay seller with thousands of reviews. - I don't see the little "U" you mention, but I don't see it on my watch nor on your watch.... - the back of the watch says Japan, the clasp adjuster just says stainless steel - the widening for release isn't wide, but the arrow is stamped and quite noticeable, and so is the Casio writing on the front of the clasp, it's stamped. - the bracelet felt a bit sharp on it's sides, however the watch itself is one of my favorites to wear, you forget you have it on. I would argue it is as if not more comfortable than the bracelet off my Seamaster 300 The blue backlight goes of immediately after release the button, the buttons are very easy to use and if I hold down the right button, it displays after a few seconds the word "CASIo" - it's a lower case "O" because it uses the second markers to do that. The case finish is also very smooth, no jagged lines. Either in the last 4 years they got better with fakes, or it simply just depends where they make this watches.

The EL glow on the fake is very nice.

It's funny that when I had to get the green one because the blue one was out of stock, i thought "ah bummer! Oh well, anything goes". Never knew it was quite sought after at all lol

As you point out, the genuine Casio screws are a combination flat head and cross head, and it should also be noted that the cross head is not Phillips, but JIS, whereas the fake screws have Phillips heads. (A Phillips screwdriver won't fit into a JIS head securely, which is probably why they have the option of using a flat head driver!)

Real one is showing holes in the side of the lugs for removing the spring bars. Fake one doesn’t??

In both there is not water resist logo (WR) is this original? I think the 168 has the War logo. The 158 doesnt. But is it possible that both of these are fake? Or different time printing

My backstamp says Thailand and the strap says Cambodia.

The words Eletro Luminescence has a smaller gap between them, and the print is thinner on the fake. Also, on the fake Alarm Chrono falls below the CASIO name it is level on the real one, but you could probably judge better from some photos. Than a video recording. The other problem one has when buying online is these fakers use photos of the real item at the selling point. hardly ever show the back of the watch or a serial number. You only find out when it arrives and like you had something to compare it to. Very informative video well done
