It handles T7 and T8 quite easily, especially the bosses, but it may not yield as much aether as a different build like Blood Surge.

It is possible, but you can survive without Bone Storm.

There are builds out that there that reach the 275 breakpoint by making use of a bug with Bone Prison and those can take advantage of Path of Trag'oul for a higher essence pool and higher burst damage, but I prefer not having builds rely on bugs. It's just a personal preference. There are plenty of other guides out there that make use of the bug that people can seek out.

You can get an additional 25 from taking an Elixir of Resourcefulness II and an additional 16 from the Bone Graft legendary node. You can use Bone Storm to quickly get the stacks from the legendary node.

Because I find it hard to maintain uptime using the Grandfather.

Hardened bones provides an additional 25% damage reduction, which should help with survivability. Besides that, it is mostly avoiding getting hit, liberal use of corpse tendrils, etc.

I don't think so. The Grandfather has an inherent +150% damage bonus along with the +450% affix, which would put it above a +Bone Spirit Damage temper. The Grandfather is also used for the max resource stat, which will help reach the 275 essence breakpoint. The 100% bonus to crit damage is also higher than any legendary aspect other than Imprisoned Spirit, which would be 140% on a two-hander.

Yes, the updated planner I have pinned sacrifices the mages: maxroll.gg/d4/planner/pnsr0vis If you want to sacrifice Skeletal Defenders as well, reallocate 6 points somewhere to Momento Mori and Stand Alone. Replace Bloodgetters on the pants with something else and probably take corpse explosion to consume corpses for Flesheater. I kept Defenders in the planner because I find them useful for distracting bosses.

Tho I really want to integrate fortify to my build as I keep getting 1-shot when my barrier is out (sometimes even when it's up too :( ), I'm using lidless + wand. I'm studying the paragon boards to make it possible

Thanks! Regarding fortify, you should be able to get a good amount fortify via corpses generated from Hewed Flesh with Necrotic Carapace.

It should not take too long to level up a rogue. You can get to level 50 in about 15 minutes by having someone boost you. You just need to get to World Tier 4 and have the Marksman Finesse temper manual drop. I have found that the Blood Maiden drops manuals decently often, so you might try hanging around Helltides.

When I made the video, the idea was to spam Bone Spirit as fast as possible to get the Overpowers as quick as possible.

Attack speed is probably still good for the build. Best alternative is probably Intelligence. Attack speed does not reduce cooldown but the build gets Bone Spirit to 0 cooldown by getting cooldown to 7 seconds and crit chance to 100% (Enhanced Bone Spirit reduces cooldown by 7 seconds on hit if it crits) so having higher attack speed allows faster spam of Bone Spirit. This version of the build was really made with the idea that Rapid Ossification would be fixed in Season 4, but it never ended up being fixed (it will be next season), so it is probably not as effective as other versions of Bone Spirit at the moment.

Yes, Starless Skies would be good. Other than that, it's mostly a matter of getting high crit chance, high crit damage rolls, high Deathless Visage damage, high aspect rolls and so forth. Optimizing each individually might get you 10-20% damage increase but when all combined it might result in double or triple damage because of the way it all multiplies. Also, ensuring you have enough essence per second and resource generation bonus to ensure you are at 100% essence makes a big difference because of the Ossified Essence passive. Starless Skies should help with that.

Yes to both. If you are using Tyrael's Might, I recommend putting Hardened Bones on your pants and getting Essence per Second on your boots. If you're using Starless Skies, you should replace Requiem Aspect and Sacrifice Shadow Mages. See the planner in the pinned comment for more details.

There's still the Skeleton Defenders and the priest will give you the ~20% damage bonus and healing.

The planner was updated for the 1.4.3 patch which increased sacrifice bonuses. Changes mentioned in the pinned comment. The configuration in the video still works and the differences in damage are relatively small.

Bone Spear has a high lucky hit chance and will proc Hewed Flesh often, which will in turn proc Necrotic Carapace, which generates fortify.

I haven't tried lvl100 echo yet, but I'm going up against lvl 125 enemies in the with pit no problem. Could probably go a bit higher if I want to. But I have no idea if that's good or not without optimized gear, but I'm liking the build so far.

Necro is very broken this season... not saying they're stronger than barb but it's not a huge gap. Highest pit I saw cleared was 192. Necro shadow golem build. I'm waiting to go back to bone spear so I'm here looking to see how it's fairing.

The Maxroll planner was updated after the 1.4.3 update and reflects the buffs to sacrifice in that update. If you want, you can still have mages by using Shadow Mages (or Bone), the damage upgrade, and putting Reqiuem Aspect on the ring.

I cannot comment on the build on d4builds because I did not make that. I assume he puts points into Blight/Pest for the 20% damage bonus.

You need to use the Marksman Finesse manual on a Rogue to temper crit damage. There will be a manual with crit damage for all classes available in Season 5.

Yes, you need to level a Rogue, get the temper manual, temper crit damage with the Rogue, and then transfer back to Necromancer.

Yes, but the difference is pretty small and you can still run Requiem with mages if you find that more enjoyable.

Thank you! Yes, the core skills are a bit underwhelming at the moment. Hopefully they get some buffs in Season 5. For single target, it helps to hit the target at full range so that it gets hit by the spear, 5 shards, and an echo from Deathless Visage.

Starless Skies could be a good option if you are having essence issues, especially with the recent buffs. May also consider adding an additional essence per second slot on chest/boots along with resource generation tempers on rings/amulet. The stat works very well with Aspect of Torment's 170% bonus to regen.

Honestly, without a Rapid Ossification fix, it is probably better to run the Requiem version. I don't have the gear to do that version at the moment but there are various guides available. I think the Maxroll guide is one of them.

For the version in the video, sacrifice Skeletal Warriors for the crit chance and Bone Mages for the overpower.

Thank you for your kind comment! I made some changes to the build as a result of the new patch, which you can find in the pinned comment and in the video description. Since they buffed the sacrifice bonuses, one of the changes I made to the build is to sacrifice Mages for the vulnerable damage bonus (20% vs 15%) and replace the Cult Leader board with Blood Begets Blood and take the legendary node. The build generates a decent amount of blood orbs by using Corpse Tendrils, so it's nice to be able to take advantage of the higher damage bonus.

You could replace Deathless Visage with Shako and the build would work fine, especially if you don't want to temper crit damage on your gear using a Rogue, but I think the damage is higher if you use Deathless Visage.
