Pro Tips for changing boat tires without breaking studs
มุมมอง 312 หลายเดือนก่อน
Salt water is one of the most extreme environments you can put anything in. This is why your boat trailer is probably the most neglected and pain in the ass thing to work on. Hopefully this video helps you out a bit if you need to swap some tires and dont want to spend an arm and a leg.

Great video! Working on my 1976 Vette with a 400 sb that dynoed at 506 hp. Keep up the factual reporting!!
1977 corvette
The shop installed a new leaf spring and the rear end stays up and the shop wants to put old leaf spring back on and return the new leaf spring. Any suggestions?
Either longer hanger bolts or a low arch leaf spring. The first leaf spring I put on did the same thing. I ended up going with a van steel leaf spring.
Send it to lazy k lane.
Adjusting the bolts only affects ride height. It does not affect spring rate.
Correct, I was worried about it rubbing on the slicks. By tightening the bolts, it raises the rear and effectly increases the stiffness before the tires rub. I can see the confusion but definitely not what I was trying to say lol.
I have bout a total rebuild 81. This has the composite monospring. The rear is sitting too high for my liking. So, if I understand your comment... lowering the nut on both sides will drop the height?
@@imathestorm Correct, you can also install longer bolts and lower it more if the bolts you have aren't long enough. They make 6,8,10 inch bolts.
Hey bro how you been? It's been a while since I looked at your channel. I see you still have the Vette, I'm hoping to get the parts that I'm missing for mine this year. I'm wandering did your gear box survive or did you have to change anything. Also are the half shafts ok or for all that fun you have on your Vette or have you got any problems. I'm saving to buy a super muncie and thicker drive shafts or should I just get a straight solid rear end? Lastly? Would you be interested in helping me build mine? Some time next year? 😂 The car is in Costa Rica and I need someone that has knowledge on this car,😅....
I’ve never felt more American! Sounds like a beast!
Something about a V8 in the upper limits of 6k RPMs makes me feel the same lol
Great style of video, i really like the timslip details popping up on screen, and the camera angle really gives you sense of speed and acceleration the driver is feeling. Well done
Thank you and thanks for the support!
Hell yeah! 👍🏼🤙🏼
Is the track a 8th or a quarter mile ?
8th mile, nearest quarter is 2-3 hour tow 🙄
Man bro always loved your content! Wish you would get a Harley to make a monster. I know you probably don’t know but on my Harley 04 screaming eagle deuce it’s a stroker 95 twin cam but my friend just bought a 23 Harley fat boy with a 114. He has more tourqe than me but I’m on his sss. What would you do on a low budget to get a little more.
Thank you! I'd recommend what I always did when we were at the desert. Pipe, air cleaner and up a size or two on the jets. If it's a Cali bike, look at a rejet kit. They starve them for fuel. Aside from that, my knowledge on bikes are limited.
I enjoyed the ride-along man. Thanks for posting, good stuff
Glad you enjoyed, thank you for the support!
Glad to see it’s running again, and you are out at Barona!
Yeah, I've been working on my wife's nova. Hopefully we will be there for the vintage drags with both cars running. Trying to make more time to race this year.

What half shalf did you use
This is the racevette 3.5 half shaft.
This is something im not sure what to do.. 275 60 mt et street rubs. I need to send you a photo
can i ask you for help on my 73 ? let me know how i can get in touch with you. i'll pay you for your time. im doing a build on it and had some questions. thanks
Awesome! Can you provide any info on the upgrade kit you used?
This is the racevette 6 link suspension kit for a 73 Vette. Racevette and Dragvette are the same company.
383 is the perfect sbc.
It is, you still can have all the rpms and the torque is there.
you can use 10" C4 vette spring bolts to lower a corvette proper when installing a stiffer spring
True, I went with a low arch spring to help lower the car. The issue I had with 10" bolts were that they were longer than my rim. If I lost a tire, I'd be on the spring bolts. I opted for the low arch spring for that reason.
if you need new side yokes upgrade to the HD side yokes for 1979 and older, they allow for bigger 1350 U-joints ,and use bigger bolts .a spool can be machined to fit in a cast iron 1979 and older vette rear diff casing .use the spool with 30 spline ,and use 30 spline left side yokes from a 1980-82 corvette .a smart strut bracket helps with the strut rod camber.you want a very stiff spring for drag racing ,if you don't install adjustable spring shocks .Vansteel sells a narrower 400 lbs composite spring .use longer out side spring bolts to adjust you the angle of the half shafts, you want the half shafts almost parallel to the ground.if the rear diff is coming out ,remove the drive shaft with it ,and install it when installing the rear diff
Another comment and you are 100% on it. I knew I was going to upgrade to the racevette rearend and knowing that, I opted out of the upgraded side yokes as it comes with the new rear. I didn't go with a 400# but a 360# since I still drive the car on the street and live on dirt roads. So far, I have been happy with the spring. Even ran a 1.58 60 foot with little rear suspension travel.
use solid U-joints.keep the side yoke in and out movement to .020 or less .a smart strut bracket can help with tire camber ,by lowering the strut rod mount point .the dragvette suspension is great ,and should be the first upgrade to a c2/3 vette if you plan to apply big power ,or drag race vettes alot .
100%. It is a huge improvement over the stock configuration. Not only for performance but safety.
that rear end set up will serve you well into the 8s in the 1/4 .very costly ,but near bullet proof .they sell good stuff at Racevette
They do, now if only they sold transmissions 😂
Looks like fun
It is fun, especially for the kids. They get to figure themselves out.
Is like when you put the new crank and you put the new bearings how do you use that paper to test the measurement on the main bearing
It's called Plastigage, on an un-oiled crank, you put a piece on it, toque the main cap to spec and remove it. Then you can use the little ruler they come with to figure out the clearance.
That part what you do is the only part that I'm afraid of
Don't be afraid! Just watch more videos and take your time.
Man love your car. Wanna sell it I got a cvo Harley like new and cash. I love that car. Do you have a spare motor that’s kinda like the one in you’re vett? Well can’t wait to see the video
Thank you! No unfortunately not interested in selling. I don't have a spare, hope not to need one lol.
Just a small point. Always do your final torque with the weight of the vehicle on the ground.
That is correct!
Is this a current video? Your clutch is hating first gear. Lol Am I seeing a little heads up display in there?
My clutch 100% quit after this race lol. That is a Pyle 3.5 HUD. It's gps based. Works great since I don't have a dash
Awesome stuff. Do you still have the 383 in there or was there a 454 in the works?
This is the 383, the 454 is for my Camaro which I will hopefully be building later this year!
Who make the lefspring
a lot of vette places sell fiber springs.Corvette central is where I got mine .Vansteel sells a a little bit shorter spring ,to help clear wider tires ,and it can be had with a 400lb spring rate.you can use 10" long bolts from a C4 vette if you want to lower the rear more then the 8" lowering bolts
I ended up going with the vansteel spring. This spring had way too much arch and made the rear of the car sit too high. The Vansteel spring is low arch which is important if you are running a bit stiffer spring rate. I'm running 360 to help keep the car flat on heavy acceleration. (Helps save the u joints on the half shafts)
Awesome, I'm jealous!
Make it happen! Florida was awesome and the Freedom factory was great. Two birds with one stone haha
Can definitely tell you had a good time from that smile!
Absolutely had a blast. Most fun Ive had doing 30-60 mph 😂
I saw a video where a guy would use his crotch rocket motor cycle to put his baby to sleep
Some days, you use whatever you can lol 😆.
That is sweet music to the ears 🤓
I agree and apparently she does too haha.
Hate it when the video beats me to the punch. Carbon dioxide😂 Fun fact, if the Mom liked driving around in race cars before the birth, the newborn will be much more relaxed in a race car. Pre-birth newbs are very attuned to their mother because they can hear in a sense what Mom is doing, and her heart rate and laughter among others. Far out engine though! Love the rumble!
Yeah, that's what we are noticing. She isn't timid about any of our cars. Hell, I fired up an open header 454 with her about 20 feet away. She jumped then smiled.
“And it’s not because of carbon monoxide poisoning” thank you for clearing that up sir😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol, trying to avoid some CPS cases 😂
Nice work man! What happened to the last 4 minutes of the video?
Not sure, editing error. Must have been too tired to trim it!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂...she's so cute
Thank you!
It's cool to see that everybody is like they are on the videos and good-for-you for getting to go
Thank you and yeah, it was cool to see how it works.
least rainy day in florida:
Lol, yeah, only 3 inches in an hour. Typical Florida man day.
@@BZRGarageas a florida citizen, i can confirm this true
OMG!!! 😂. WOW!!! That was slick little man. In a few more years you'll be ready for a Florida waiting game! Be Safe you guys!!! 😂
Lol, I know, right. Truth be told, our winter storms are more impressive than Hillary and they aren't even that impressive haha
Very impressive 👍
It is!
This is rust oleum spray paint, no primer? Paint primer version, enamel? Looks cool man. Like the low buck options
That is correct. A quick sanding and some rattle can. Won't win any car shows but you'll have money left to build the motor haha
1 Tire Fire. Will make a nice hauler or parts runner 💪
That is the plan!
What kind of engine is it?
